If you send me the picture I'll try to write a script to do this.

Oh and also tell me what size the page should be.

well, it's quite a specific thing.
... if it's the sort of thing that requires writing a script, then i don't have to bother doing it. .. .

tried copy/paste, then grab both and do it again, grab all 4 do it again...? multiplies rather quickly, doubling every copy/paste. specific size, and grid snap to function, should be fairly easy. also some paint/manipulation apps have a pic flood fill, that's scalable/repeatable, can fill an entire sheet once you get the right size and number of clones.

Yeah, doesn't photoshop have a tool where you can grab a section and then use that to fill in an area?

This is what I do when I have to do this sort of thing - though I don't usually make 800 of them, so it's more effective to just do the work and move on than to research to find a tool or image editor feature that will do the work for me.

Not that I'm against making my own tools...

You mean making a pattern?

Probably... been a while since I've had to use photoshop

You could also make the stick figure a brush and mess with the brush settings so it has spacing jitter to make the placement seem more random. I can't quite figure out what you're trying to do, so I can't offer the best advice.

You can make a new brush with the image to duplicate as the patern for the brush. Then simply draw whereever.

Exactly like Dupree, even the gimp can be used like that. Select Figure and then use the clipboard as a brush.
800 clicks later and you're done.

If you don't want to brush on the object or make a pluging, you realise that to get the 800 you just need
copy and paste : 2 stick men
copy and paste : 4 stick men
copy and paste : 8 stick men
copy and paste : 16 stick men
copy and paste : 32
c&p : 64
c&p : 128
c&p : 256
c&p : 512
past the previous 254 again
778
copy in 8
copy in 4

reaching 800 in less than 20 moves :D

Same thing I was thinkin :D sometimes just trudging through proves to be faster than creative problem solving.

True... and sometimes a new skill would prove very valuable in the long run. And if you have a bunch of INTJs to give their inputs.... heck, just post that qn.

You may write a program to do it, or send it to me. I can do that.
