Hey, far be it from me to say re-sizing the avatar is easy... but come on people! We have a thousand tigers and wolves, paper mache ghosts, and robots. That's it! Where are all the ones that made you laugh? The pear porn, the geometry smart ass, and the jerk in the fire shoving the kid out of the way. You know who you are... :suspicious:

Certainly there's room for change, but a boring monoculture??? Do we all love wolves that much? :cry:

The avatar policy is kind of strict, I guess most people don't want to spend time finding and resizing an image. The multitude of wolves and robots is probably because people don't want a face of a famous person next to their posts (I know I find it annoying to see them staring back at me).

Well it certainly has a kind of cache, and you have made it your own (what with the robot vs. decapitated head thread)....

edit: though sod's does make me laugh what with the double entendre (British SOD- 'son of the devil' vs. grass) :laugh:

With regard to the variety in the avatar gallery, we added 120 new images just tonight and will be adding more (with varying subject matter) this coming week. We're open to suggestions if anyone wants to see anything in particular in there. Even if you don't plan on using avatars from the gallery, it will affect what you see on the forum due to other members using them.

While the avatar policies are stricter, we're also doing more to help members get avatars. This includes the gallery provided on site and this subforum so we can help members locate and/or resize images for avatars. So if anyone is having trouble finding what they want, they just need to let us know.

hmm, I'm starting to miss the "unique" avatars too.

I'm a bit out of ideas myself, I don't know what avatars I'll make, I had a homework doing one and it gave the wrong image, since I just procrastinate. Meanwhile I was thinking of putting Simcity but the size is limiting and I don't want to be an insurance company's office tower.

My av counts as abstract. To me, abstract cannot be labeled as a thing. This picture is just a pattern of colors.
