Mmmmm these games are sexy. Any other Zelda fans? If so which are your faviorites?

I love em all except Adventures of Link, Majoras Mask and Twilight Princess (and of course the awful CD-i games, which I won't even discuss). My faviorites are Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker.

What do you guys think of the series?

You disliked Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask?! Link's Awakening is one of the best dungeon based Zelda games. I'd rank it on par with ALttP. And Majora's Mask was really creative. It had an interesting world, a darker style, and NPC's that actually mattered. I thought it was more creative than them remaking A Link to the Past however many times.

Derp Derp made a terrible mistake. Links Awakening I really liked, it was Adventures of Link I hated.

Majoras Mask is not a mistake though. IDK I never got into it.

Ah, understandable. I thought it was possible you may be referring to the second Nes game, and as it turns out that you were. I don't think too many people were a fan of that game. I know some are, but, they seem to be in the minority. For one, I find it really difficult, and IMO the side-scrolling seems better at home in Metroid. And leveling and exp. points in a Zelda game? I guess it makes sense to get something more as a reward after killing countless enemies, rather than just getting useless rupees, or some magic or hearts, like in most Zelda games... but it still feels kind of misplaced in a Zelda game. I think it tends to make things possibly a bit more even not having leveling, as one could just grind and become really powerful and plow over the enemies, if they had nothing better to do.

I can also see one not getting into Majora's Mask. OoT was more of an instant hit. I more or less grew up on the first Zelda and ALttP, and the hype for Link's first excursion into a 3D world was practically overpowering. I know standards for 3D were lower then, but still going into it and expecting so much, I was still more or less blown away. Even though there seems to be more to do in ALttP's world than in OoT, which was always one of the major draws of Zelda, for me. Finding all the secrets and such. Majora's Mask took me a while to get into. Plus it's lacking in dungeons even more than Windwaker. Though I still found Windwaker to be an awesome play experience. I enjoyed the art style, and while sailing was kind of crappy/boring, the whole game still gave off an interesting impression.

Twilight Princess was alright, but I almost wish they would have stuck with a more Windwaker like style. It also felt like they were trying to recreate the success of OoT. I don't think that's possible. Also they seemed to focus too much on the dungeons. The over world feels comparatively more flat or dead, and in the later parts of the game it just feels like you go from dungeon to dungeon to beat the game.

I think they have to take Zelda in a whole new direction, like they did with Mario and Super Mario Galaxy... which is an awesome game. For Zelda I'm thinking maybe play with the whole Dark Realm/Light Realm, but to a higher degree. Have different sort of ethereal realms that envelop different areas of the map, and have them act differently and perhaps have different art styles. Using the Wii remote to more accurate interact with the environment, and an increased attention to physics and some other things, could create some awesome puzzles. I'm thinking something like an item that projects a phantom hand, that allows you to manipulate objects via directing it with the wii remote and corresponding button presses to various actions. Maybe couple that with objects and physics acting differently in each spiritual/ethereal realm, and different ways of navigating them, to sort of mix the whole thing up throughout the game. Keep older items relevant throughout the game, also. I barely recall ever using the gale boomerang outside the forest temple, for instance. And create an actual need for collecting rupees, instead of just making them worthless as always. These are just some of my ideas on where I think Zelda's should go, though. I think the formula is getting pretty stale. Phantom Hourglass was a welcome breath of freshness into the Zelda series, but it still didn't innovate as much as I had hoped.

I haven't played a Zelda game since the ones they made on the Gameboy Color. I just got the new (by my standards) one on the DS but couldn't get the emulator to work (the real DS is still too expensive...). I'm thinking about starting video games again if I have time. Which old Zelda games would you guys recommend (I like the older games)? I've only played the two Legend of Zelda for the Gameboy Color so far and I really enjoyed it.

After the Metroid Series, best adventure series Nintendo makes

I think Link to the Past was the best on a handheld. The game was long, challenging and had fun dungeons. Wind Waker definitely the best of all. I respect the Ocarina for its sheer length, but I love the blissful atmosphere of seafaring associated with the Wind Waker. The final battle was epic. Ganondorf with two katanas...sick.

I was a Gameboy girl so I had Season and Ages and Link's Awakening. My brother had N64 so I've played Majora's Mask(awesome) and Ocarina of Time(awesome). I love Link I use him in Smash Bros.

Now that you mention Majora's Mask, I scratched the surface of the game. The scariest part of the game is the Happy Mask Salesman. He NEVER stops smiling unless he's mad (and it's not a pretty sight) *shudder*
