It only appears to be those things because the main stream media evades and buries news that does not fit its political correctness agenda. Can you imagine if the attackers had been white and Christian? The national outrage would be splashed on the front page of every newpaper in the country as well as all the news channels. The ACLU would be calling for the heads of all involved. Do you hear any outrage? Where is the ACLU?

No, I don't. Usually the outcry is for the victim. Perhaps the victim in this case didn't have a family pushing the issue.

Furthermore, I suspect the intent (or lack of heads being calling for) is to prevent more whites killing more Muslims simply because they're Muslim.

Apparently BB gun shootings are worthy of national news and only the existence of a vast left wing conspiracy prevents them from being on the front page of the New York Times.

I have deliberately selected "low-end" estimates for Muslim fatalities, so these figures present the "best case" for the United States. Even so, the United States has killed nearly 30 Muslims for every American lost. The real ratio is probably much higher, and a reasonable upper bound for Muslim fatalities (based mostly on higher estimates of "excess deaths" in Iraq due to the sanctions regime and the post-2003 occupation) is well over one million, equivalent to over 100 Muslim fatalities for every American lost.

Do you seriously believe if the attackers had been white this story would have been relegated to the back pages among the furniture ads? The media could get no positive mileage out of this so it was ignored. It's hypocrisy plain and simple.

No. I meant that perhaps no one wanted retaliation against Muslims because of an attack on an American. Gay not really being the issue in that particular thought. I was thinking of hearing a report a while back about increases in attacks on Muslims in the US, but I don't remember where I heard it but all I can find now are reports that it's actually dropped.

Same premise, things are settled, American on Muslim crime is low and no one wants to rock the boat.

However, I think the real truth is that it was a BB gun and just not a newsworthy story. Had the weapon been a shotgun it would have gotten more attention.

That's technically correct because BB gun shootings are not a significant concern to most sane people. The media couldn't get much mileage out of it because it's not a particularly significant story. I could understand the alarm if the attackers had used baseball bats, knives or real guns but that didn't happen.

The attackers got arrested and it was covered in the local news. That was an appropriate response on the part of the police and an appropriate reaction from the media.


It's hypocrisy plain and simple.

Someone being shot in the face with a BB gun, sounds far too lame to be considered news worthy. If I were a news reporter, I'd be embarrassed to have something like that under my name.

The only way it would work is if you could somehow make it sound funny, and even then it wouldn't be front page material.

Now that would deserve a footnote at least.
