This question is referring to the musical based on Victor Hugo's classic. I am really not a fan of musicals but I was really impressed by Les Miserables. I liked it so much that I bought a copy (on DVD) of the 10th anniversary concert of Les Miserables at London's Royal Albert Hall.
So.......anyone else feel the same way I do?

Count me in.
Btw...this song is incredible. I listen to it over and over and over again. There's so much beauty to it. It's even hard to explain.

Also, Victor Hugo's books are amazing.

That happens to be my favorite song from the play. I never get tired of listening to it.

I don't know what it says about me that "Master of the House" is my favorite song. I also like "Bring Him Home."
Oh, yes. I've never seen the show, but I love the music. I can't decide on a favorite song; there are too many I like.

I've seen the play in London, the Liam Neeson movie, and read most of the book on the way back from Paris. For once, I actually liked the movie best.

I actually like One Day More the best. It embodies most of the themes and subplots in this musical, and the multiple melodies are tied together masterfully. The main reason I like this musical (and the book) is because of how it's so relevant- still. It's scope is so broad, insightful and universal. I've always liked stories that can capture humanity psychology and reality skillfully, rather than one-theme stories, such as Romeo and Juliet and The Phantom of the Opera. 10th Anniversary Concert is the best version, in my opinion, and I've listened to OBC and Symphonic Recording alike. Philip Quast is powerful and moving, and Michael Maguire is just epic. Lea Salonga is Eponine, she really owned the role. Michael Ball has a beautiful voice. Can't say much for Judy Kuhn, although she is one of the better Cosettes. Colm Wilkinson is naturally good. I don't have much complaints. I've had many musical loves over the years (Wicked, Aida, Miss Saigon, to name a few), but this one remains my favorite of all time (and no, it's not my first. My first is Phantom, which I was obsessed with until I came across Les Mis, and then the former's shortcomings just jumped out at me).

"On my own" is one of my favorite songs.
It's a pretty good musical. I'm not into musicals either.

Yes, I agree with you about Lea Salonga owning the role of Eponine. I would say the same thing about Ruthie Henshall. I think she owns the part of Fantine. I feel that her rendition of I Dreamed A Dream is the best. It's very moving.

Never saw the Neeson movie, but, I did like the play more than the book.

I played in the orchestra for this! I like it a lot too. There are some cello solos in there (not like I was the focus compared to the actors, but I liked it all the same)! :P

I love the music... even bought the soundtrack, which is very unusual for me. And I have midi files with instrumentals of the major solos on my computer.

It's one of my favourite stage productions. I saw it live in English, and I've seen it on video in French. It's fantastic.
The book is good, but it just doesn't have the same life and energy as seeing it one stage.

To my fellow Les mis fans. I consider the following one of the most poignant moments in the play. It is the death of fantine. Wanted to share it with all of you.

My favorite bit of trivia about Les Miz is discovering that the "chairman" of the original "Iron Chef" series played the lead in the Japanese adaptation of the musical. That sounds freakishly awesome for some reason.

I've never seen it, but I did some adult singing classes a couple of years back and was assigned Stars as a test piece. Javert (in scary/unstoppable mode) was very easy to channel...

Les Miserables is probably my favourite musical, which is saying something given that musicals is a genre that I'm not hugely into. I've seen the stage play and I have the double-CD soundtrack on my iPod, but I've never read the book. I have always had the intention of reading the novel (!) but there's just too many books and not enough time.

Thus the username :) Huge fan.
I also favor "One Day More" ... As well as the "Finale", "Who Am I" and "Javert's Suicide". There is nothing on earth that we share; it is either Valjean or Javert...
Oh, and how could I forget, "Do You Hear The People Sing"?
