Go figure. She's offended that somebody crossed the line again...And just in time to once again use her family members and sanctimony as political marketing tools.

Dating kids with Down's Syndrome in animated comedy: Fair or foul? What's your opinion?

Someone should introduce her to "Retarded Policeman". Maybe that will shut her up.

Honestly its not that bad compared to what would happen if she became president. Anyone who believe in the literal interpretation of the Book of Revelations is a danger to the entire world.

I agree with you. Badly I can say that it's a little tactless for a joke, but really it's nothing worth to talk about, there are far worst things on TV. She just want media to talk about her, also really... using your Down child to push for public career is FAR worst than a TV joke, the only thing that she had demonstrated is that SHE CARE MORE about her career than about her child.

Attention Wh. If she really had a problem with it she'd do what the Special Olympics did to Pres Obama.
And doesn't the press have something better to cover?

I don't care.
Either way... I just don't care.

Uhm.
Stop. Just stop. This woman does not deserve any form of attention or discussion. Just move on. Seriously. Of all the worthless trash. And the only thing that gives her power is paying attention. Avert your eyes for she is the arc of the covenant. If you just ignore her she will go away.
And uhm......Somehow I think one of the primary characters, falling in love with and dating a character with down syndrome is a much more positive message then a one liner about Palin can take away from.
When I was growing up, prior to all this politically correct terminology Down's syndromes were called mongols. On account of having mongoloid like features. You still hear people using the word 'mong' to mean a retard, oops, that should be 'cognitively challenged person'.
I cannot agree that dating a mong is a positive message. If they looked normal you can be sure the females would be much abused. It seems more like bestiality to me.

The article didnt mention why dating someone with Downs Syndrome is inherently offensive. I didnt see the episode. Did they actually do/say something offensive or is it just the fact that the character has downs and its meant to be the Palin family?

Yes, the early Christian church certainly was a dangerous group. It's hard to believe all the simony, graft, and various other types of corruption that went on. No wait, that was the amillennial Catholic church, that believed that Revelation wasn't literal.
Sorry, it just annoys me when you're ignorant about a subject (it's Revelation, singular), but you still slam someone else's views.

I've seen the clip, and don't see how it was offensive? They compared Palin's daughter to a dominatrix...not particularly nice, but nothing out of the ordinary for Family Guy.

Palin has the right to be offended.... just as the FG writers have every right to comically disembowel this impostor of a Christian. What a wonderful country it would be if she had her way.....bake sales, censorship and endless invented wars.

I was slamming her views in the same way I would slam the views of a Holocaust denier. But I suppose your right. I should be defending her beliefs. Initiating a Nuclear Holocaust to bring about the second comeing. :scared:

(it's not her baby, it's her daughter's....and the father is.......Mr. Palin himself)

Palin is acting like she was singled out. Family Guy makes fun of a lot of people and political figures. Bill Clinton ("It's a great day to be nude"), Bush jr., Bob Dole, Ronald Reagan ("Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall. Reagan smash! Reagan smash!"), Margot Kidder ("Forgot my purse"), Sean Connery ("The damage is done"), William Shatner ("Beam me up God"), James Woods, and more....
If you can't take the heat, go back to Alaska.

Wow, what an association fallacy. You're talking about the most common hermeneutic in America. Most of our presidents probably believed in a literal interpretation of Revelation, once Dispensationalism became popular.

O.K. so I'm an idiot when it come's to hermeneutic's, Maybe I shouldn't have listened to the Left Behind Series tapes when I was 12. Nightmares and all. How would you interpret Palin's religious beliefs.
Family guy: I have a lot of channels on my TV that I do not watch and that's one of them.

The Science channel, National Geographic, History channel mostly. I only watch Fox for football but my cable (Time Warner) went out the other day and I had no phone, no cable and no internet so I am getting Direct TV. I can get the NFL network on Direct TV too.

Basically just the typical conservative Christian view. The only effect it'll probably have on her foreign policy is more sympathy towards Israel, and less towards Muslim nations. She's not my first choice for president for many different reasons, but her view of Revelation isn't one of them.

Maybe it's her view on reality?.....
I'm not sure she actually has any working concept of that. Part of her appeal to many, I would think.

Pretty interesting that the likeness of the character in question is based on the voice actress who actually has Down syndrome. I think you're right 'Burglar, looks like she may have been baited.
With that said, I can't really stand Palin, but she had every right to be upset. I enjoy a bit of tasteless humor myself, but when a sketch is even loosely based on someone's child who is not an adult then I think its crossed the line.
Last thing I'll add is that there's a bit of ironic humor to be had by Palin appearing all over Fox News pleading her case when it was one Fox's own programs that was the culprit.

First of all, the actress who played the girl with Downs syndrome is awesome. I'm glad I got to read about her.
Secondly, though it's been said before, if Palin doesn't want people in the media making cracks about her family, she shouldn't parade them around so much. Just like if I don't want people to watch me change clothes, I shouldn't do so with the blinds open.

She looks better than Pelosi and she's probably smarter too, not that that's saying much. I don't think Palin would ever try to claim that 500,000,000 americans lose their jobs every month.
