I got rid of the contradictions and got something different.

This is a very interesting site...
It makes me wonder where they get the physical description, as to how much study they've done into this, and how much they try to put type on genetics. Such as, apparently I look like an INTP but behave like an INTJ. I am round and squishy because my parents were round and squishy. Genetics. No matter how much I ignore food, I'm fat anyways. Genetics.

You may often pay too much attention to your physical-sensational side, which in return leads you to believe that it is as strong as your intuitive-spiritual side. However in reality, you find it much easier to have to think about numerous possibilities rather than to deal with pressure in a confrontational situation.

If a sign "Take your hats off" is normally understood as a request to take headwear off, you may suddenly find yourself arguing with an INTp over what is considered a hat.
Okay, according to this website, I'm an INTp. I cannot count the number of times I've had this argument...

Yea I know. This is extremely confusing, but I was hoping someone would bring this up. Which do you think is accurate and why? I have my own opinions about this but would like to know others.. However, I still have clear similarities with INTJ and MBTI. I have never gotten INTP with MBTI testing at all. I have never even came close.

Because of this INTps could get comfortable with routine, often mistyping themselves into J types, resulting in many of them thinking of themselves as INTjs. However the most common way is for INTps to type themselves into INTxs, with undecided preference for J or P.
I know that particular article is supposed to be 'unintentionally offensive', but a lot of it is softly scathing truth. And it's not like we're not used to that around here...

No, they do not swap at all. An MBTI INTJ should test as an INTj on socionics.
(As a side note, socionics makes so much more sense for myself. I heavily prefer it to the MBTI, which always feels very lacking in application and understanding).
For clarifying INTj and INTp, this article, and the comments that go with it is really nice:
To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
And for general information about socionics, To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. has by far the best information. The type descriptions here are by and large the most accurate I've come across, as it's not sugar-coated or spun in an upbeat way as I find most MBTI descriptions to me. I like the straight up descriptions, coupled with the ideas of lower functions and inter-type relations (which actually have a lot more to them than meets the eye. I was very skeptical about inter-type relations when I first read it, but after many moons of experience, this stuff checks out far more often than I ever would have imagined).

I couldn't say. I don't know why they are switched for introverted types in Socionics.
No, they do not swap at all.
The function order is inverted between INTP/INTj and INTJ/INTp types. The article you link discusses this. A Socionics INTJ orders Ti, Ne, Si, Fe (corresponding to MBTI INTP), while a Socionics INTP orders Ni, Te, Fi, Se (corresponding to MBTI INTJ).

Yes, the function order is reversed. However, socionics also takes into account how a function manifests itself differently as a result of which level it is functioning (base, creative, role, vulnerable, etc).
As well, the functions themselves are not defined in the same way, so MBTI Fi is not entirely the same as socionics Fi, for example (and with socionics, the Fi will be described to manifest itself differently depending on it's functional level, something we don't get with the MBTI).
Finally, the 2 define J and P differently (MBTI choses J or P for which function, S/N or T/F, is extraverted, whereas socionics defines j and p by which function, S/N or T/F, is the dominant, or base function.) So typical J and P descriptions by the MBTI do not necessarily correspond.
Really, is using each theory, you have to put aside what you know of one to use the other. When in MBTI mode, I have to put everything I know of socionics aside, and vice versa, as the 2 have marked differences that prevent a lot of crossover and comparison. Due to these differences, it's not a merely simply crossover between the 2, and 1 should test the same between the 2 theories, despite what it may seem like at first.

It's all pretty wacky and I'm new to both, but I think the article about INTj/INTp really cleared some things up for me. (From that, I can figure that I'm an INTj)

You guys know that the Socionics INTP type corresponds to the MBTI INTJ type, and vice versa, right?
That actually makes sense. I read the descriptions of both INTj and INTp, and INTp sounds more like INTJ's in MBTI.
"I think, therefore I am" once said Rene Descartes, clearly delighted about the fact that he can think. But what he really meant was "I stink, therefore I am", since INTjs can often deprive themselves of a good bath and can happily live in a pigsty when nobody watches. They miserably fail to understand the basic needs of their bodies and therefore do not address them as a first priority. This goes for food and sex too. But do INTjs enjoy tasty food and sex? Sure, when you stick it under their nose. And what do they do to have plenty of fine food and meaningless sex? Precisely nothing.
That sounds more 'P' than 'J'. I can't imagine not taking a bath... I would if it were four in the morning, and I washed my hair last night at 2 AM when my eyelids are about to drop a thousand miles. I can't stand being dirty and I DO put these things (hygiene, order etc) before whatever I may be doing. The 'food and sex' thing also sounds more 'perceiving' than judging. As a judger myself, if I want something, I go for it (but that doesn't include junk food and simple pleasures. I'm savvy if you give it to me, but I can go on for a looooooong time without it)

The quip you posted is an indication of your enjoyment of momentary pleasures, and is therefore a function of a preference for intuition over sensing. Sensing is with the here and now, such that they love to indulge themselves is all sorts of sensory pleasures ("meaningless" sex, fine food, hygiene, etc), whereas we don't experience these things with anywhere near as much salience. They may be important to us intuitives, but we don't experience them so profoundly, nor do we make it as a much of a defining priority, or personal defining characteristic in our lives as someone with a sensing preference. The quip is really quite bang on about some big differences between S and N, but it doesn't touch at all on J and P.
(please see above for why INTP and INTJ don't swap between the two theories)

Regarding all those "E"s: this test was extremely similar to ones I have taken as part of two previous job applications; I had similar scoring on both of those, and in this type of test the "E" appears to come from choosing adjectives that reflect my perception of myself as being highly verbal and skilled at persuasive debate. The latter is a skill I use almost exclusively at work, and almost exclusively if I need team support to implement my plans and the plans are not doing an adequate job of speaking for themselves. But that (to me) has nothing to do with where I find my primary stimuli (the area that I thought the E/I split refers to)--this always expresses as mildly "I" in M-B and strongly "I" in daily practise.
Edited to add: forgot to mention that in both job applications I ended up in leadership positions for which I was unsuited, and in which I was eventually very unhappy--in the first job I turned out to dislike accountability for the team (and ended up trying to do too much myself as a result to guarantee positive results); in the second I worked in an environment where "manager" = "leader" and I simply wasn't inclusive enough in the decision making process (what there was of it, that is) and rather quickly lost the team's trust.
