I know at least one other person on this forum is into long distance backpacking so this may not be entirely futile...
This summer I am planning on doing a 60-100 mile segment of the GR10 trans-Pyrenees trail on the French side of the border, alone. I know it is not the same as backpacking in the backcountry of the USA or somewhere like Patagonia or British Columbia; this is precisely why I am posting this question.
Has anybody done long distance outdoor backpacking in this region? What unexpected things should I watch out for? Any amazing out of the way places I should make a point to visit?
