I'm just wondering how many of you display symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder, because some of the INTJ traits are closely related to these behaviors:
* Preoccupation with details, rules, lists, order, organization, or schedules, to the extent that the major point of an activity is lost
* Perfectionism that interferes with the completion of tasks
* Excessive devotion to work and productivity (not accounted for by obvious financial need), at the expense of leisure activities and friendships
* Excessive conscientiousness, inflexibility, and scrupulousness about matters of morality, ethics, and values
* Inability to throw out worn or useless items, even when they have no sentimental value
* Reluctance in delegating tasks to others unless they agree exactly with his or her way of doing them
* View of money as something to be hoarded; a tendency to be stingy
* Rigidity and stubbornness
i believe that i have OCPD, but i use it as a convenient excuse for being an ass about things.
OCPD is extreme ENFJ from what i read. 2 letters is quite a big switch. INTJ is Schizotypal.

There can be variations within a type...'most' 'some' or even 'a majority' but not a sweeping generalisation that if you're intj you are this way without fail.
* Perfectionism that interferes with the completion of tasks
3D work...always tweaking scenes, the few i've let people see are said to be good enough...but i never think so...
* Inability to throw out worn or useless items, even when they have no sentimental value
half a dozen PC's of various ages/states of repair around, printers...electronics of all kinds.
* Reluctance in delegating tasks to others unless they agree exactly with his or her way of doing them
*gasp* delegate? O.O
i might be a tad OCPD >.> by those definitions...

I believe that I possess the traits. Not sure if I have it. I'm extreme on some things, and can't care less on some others.

That sounds more like an ISTJ "Preoccupation with details, rules, lists, order, organization, or schedules, to the extent that the major point of an activity is lost" this is the exact opposite of an INTJ. Maybe you just have a case of OCD.

It's only a "disorder" if it's "excessive", and that leaves a lot of room for interpretation. My opinion is that if acting unilaterally as you describe is causing you to not be successful in achieving whatever your personal and professional goals are, then it's a "disorder" - otherwise, it's a "quirk". I happen to like quirky people.
INTJ's (like all types) have their preferences, but each new situation allows us to make new choices and decisions. When we're able to chose to behave with a little more E,S,F, or P when the situation warrants, then I consider that to be healthy and logical no matter where our tendancies lie. If we're always stuck hard in our extreme INTJ rut, and for whatever reason can not or will not make the choices to overcome our preferences in any situation no matter how much sense it makes, then the possibility of OCPD becomes much more real.
Personally, as an INTJ I demand to make choices - and I include that demand to most especially include those choices to be how I chose to handle things, inside or outside my preferences. The most impressive INTJ's I know are the most in control of themselves - and isn't taking control what INTJ's are all about?
Thinking outside the box is, for me, INTJ 101.
Especially when I am the box.
Being an ass is an exquisite privilege that I save for those... special occasions :-)

I can be a bit obsessive-compulsive, but not nearly enough to qualify as any sort of disorder. I can get nervous in situations I can't control, such as on the road where other drivers could easily make all of my efforts at being a good driver pretty useless. However, with driving and my other little things I fear, I can definitely get over my fear with a little experience and positive thinking.
I do experience ADD, though, and that probably interferes with my love of organization, because although I love it, I'm horrible at it! I've learned to give it up in favor of barely-controlled chaos.
