Three letters is too likely to lead to dead ends, I think. Also, one of the things I like about this game is the creative emergence of new rules that aren't really rules (e.g., finding a word that both starts and ends with the same two letters, like onion, or ends with the reverse of the first two letters like educated, or starts with the last three letters of the previous word, or...). Recall that the original rules constrain us to Scrabble words, so weird chemical names and proper nouns are not always within scope (ivermectin).
