Anyone else seen this show? It is my guilty pleasure, I love trying to get into the heads of these addicts and figure out where they went wrong and why they turned to drugs.
New season started last night, looks like its going to be a good one
Also, I have a huge Crush on Shelley(the blond ex-crack head with the dark glasses, who works with Dr. Drew), what's the deal with that?

Wait - she used to do crack??? lol. I thought she was the scholastic one, and that Bob guy was the "I have street cred" guy. Didn't know they both used to snort coke off eachothers' asses.
I like the show, but sometimes it brings me down too much. I have never had an addiction but seeing people like that struggling is a bit much sometimes. I love Drew. Dennis Rodman was like "Yeah I'm in this Zen mode... I don't even have to be here, this is like, whatever" lol wtf?
I believe Drew is likely an ENFJ. I used to think he was ENTJ, but a T would not stand to be able to put up with that nonsense for so long. Drew has to be an F.

Yeah... I also have a kind of crush on her. I like her very weird way of being I guess hahaha
But she's really not what I would usually call a hot girl... as if this really matters.
I hope I can find this season on internet soon... sometimes it takes a long time for someone to put this online, and I can't watch it online on VH1 from here.

Love the show but it makes me cringe. Mindy McCready having a seizure and girls discussing how their relatives ****ed them when they were younger, like it's totally standard. I'm not a feeler but it's upsetting knowing some people grew up like this.
That lady whose dad was in the band The Mamas and Pappas... of course she had an incestuous relationship with him when she was an adult... for years. But she also said he shot her up at age 17, and taught her to roll joints for him at age 11.

I love this show, I find psychology very interesting, so to get into someone's head and try to figure out what makes them do whatever fucked-up behavior is interesting to me. Don't get me wrong, the things these people have gone through are SO disturbing.
It looks like the teen beauty queen is coming back. Drew's observation of that fact that she acted like a 14 year old because that's when she started doing drugs and experienced rape etc, and that she stopped growing(emotionally) because of this was an interesting observation.
Shelley admitted in the first episode this season that she may have done sexual acts of drugs. Yikes! (doesn't phase my crush) While Shelley isn't 'classically' hot, I love how grounded she is. She never looses her cool, and I like how she handles herself and how she treats everyone respectfully, even when they treat her like shit. She seems very strong and confident, yet fragile at the same time. I dunno, I just wanna give her a big hug, which is weird, because I'm not really a big hug kinda guy, and am not really good at showing affection. Plus I dig her glasses/nerd look.
I'm trying to figure out why I have a crush on her. Can you guys help me figure it out, thoughts? Maybe she represents something...
Check her on this episode:

I'm not at all attracted to her. I didn't even know what her name was. I don't think she's ugly or has a bad personality or anything - just... totally indifferent toward her.
Sorry, can't help ya out. lol.
I just read the wiki page for Mackenzie Phillips and the first time she had sex with her dad was the night before her first wedding, she woke up from a blackout to find she was sexing him, and they had relations for 10 years, from her age 19 to 29. She got pregnant at 29, didn't know who the father was, let her dad pay for an abortion, and never let him touch her again.
Jeeeeeebus. How do you go from "California Dreamin'" to boning your daughter the night before her wedding!?!??!!?!!! What the...

I've finally managed to watch the first episode of this season.
Shelley looks different this time around. She's smiling and interacting more... on the previous seasons she used to be much colder than she is now.
Looks like this time around we're gonna have loooots of fights and tantrums. I really want to see how Dr. Drew is going to deal with that. Oh yeah... and I'd love do see that Kari Ann girl get smacked on her face by someone. She realy deserves it.

ah the detox episode, always my favorite of the season. Poor Shelly had to clean up all that vomit and then get verbally berated. She seems to always get the shit end of the stick(But she was lookin' Goooood)
Who do you think is the first to leave/get kicked out? Rodman, Fleis, Sizemore, Kari Ann(again)?
Lets place bets now

Remind me who all is on the show again...
Rodman is definitely not feelin' it. He could snap at any moment.
And how the hell is Layne Staley actually doing better right now than that former bassist from Alice in Chains?
Fleiss will stick around.

Watched the show for the first time last night. Like someone else said, it can make me feel very sad. But it is also fascinating. And I am very grateful that I am not walking in their shoes.
MacKenzie Phillips worries me the most right now - she seems right at home in detox/rehab. How do you get better when rehab is normal for you?
Yes, the sexual abuse was horrible. Many folks get into drugs to cover up their feelings or to stop feeling - it makes the pain go away, just for a little while
Dennis Rodman saying that he will not die from alcohol!!!!! I have a death certificate I can send him.
And really, how many of us have had a real, hard gut wrenching check of reality that literally changes our lives forever - personally I don't find this a fun activity - so I do, in a strange way understand why folks who are already damaged depend on drugs.
I also find a person who is a full blown user like some of these folks terrify-ing. Your husband or best friend can suddenly turn on you and be crazy and hurt you.
Does Dr. Drew have an opinion of California's plan to legalize pot? Does he have an opinion about legalizing most drugs (as alcohol is)

here's this season's cast:
Denis Rodman
Heidi Fleiss
Joey Kovar (real world LA)
Kari Ann Pinche (she's apparently coming back)
Lisa D'amato
Mackenzie Philips
Mike Starr
Mindy McCready
Tom Sizemore
I think Tom Sizemore and Kari ann will be kicked out/leave before the show finishes.
Thiago, I think Shelly is acting the same, check the clip I posted, its the big shelly episode! I thought she had a pretty good sense of humor with the fact that she was cleaning up vomit after Mike detoxed.
Dr. Drew had his crew have a tough Job, I can't imagine having to council these people. Props to him and his staff.

I don't know who Kari Ann Pinche is...
Also I think Dr. Drew is cool and all but I do question his turning this rehab into a television show. It's a little dubious.

Has everyone been watching? I'm finding this season kinda slow, I want more counseling stuff, the psychology stuff is always the most interesting.
Heidi and Sizemore i think will make the show interesting once it gets rolling

Yeah I still watch it. The problem I have with the show is they lead into every commercial with "Next - a seizure!" for like 3 straight commercials. Then when they come back from every commercial it's like "When we left so and so was....".
Too much filler. The shows need to be linear, with no foreshadowing or recaps. Just present the stuff and it would be much better.
I must have seen Mindy McCready's "seizure" preview like 20 times, and actually caught it on the show once. I still don't know what happened after it. And they repeat the show a lot. Watching the show is almost like a drug-induced dream. You don't remember where it left off, you don't remember if you've seen this before... etc. It's sort of weird. I think it should be more straightforward and more interviews between Drew and the patients. That's the stuff I really dig. Not 47 previews of a seizure. Or a guy staring at cameramen for 10 minutes straight.

looks like sizemore is bolting, which means I'm about to be 1/2. Kari Ann seems to be up to her normal Bullshit. I think both will be gone by the end.
