Bernard Black - love him? hate him? Think he needs a good mommy?
Who are the fans, and who the critics? :)

ENTP - World Weary ENTP. he doesn't look E to me, E is maybe his long haired friend. And now I am curious about all 3 of them.

Put me down as an admirer of the show. I don't see Bernard as an E though. he seems to hate people. intp or intj I'd say.

I love Black Books! I admire the way Bernard just says exactly what he thinks. Best episode is the one where Manny goes to work for Goliath Books with Simon Peggs' character.
Dylan Moran (Bernard) is hilarious.

He cannot function without manny. He needs constant human contact.
He's also too witty to be an I.

introverts are perfectly capable of being witty and they also tend to hang on to the one or two friends they acquire.

True, but Bernard NEEDS manny.

True, but Bernard NEEDS manny.
that doesn't make him extraverted. An introvert can NEED someone else around. if he were extraverted he'd NEED people in general. He hates Everyone but his two friends.

I hate everyone but my close circle of friends. He's just immature and world weary.

the definition of extravert is being around people gives you energy. that doesn't seem true of Bernard. extraverts go out of their way to be around people and engage the world around them. Bernard hides in the back of his book store and drinks.
he's an I. Maybe you're an I too and in denial.

I need people around to get energy. Doesn't mean I have to like them.
Bernard runs a shop, he constantly has people around him.
He's extraverted.

so everyone who runs a shop is extraverted?

ugh... he's most definitely an I, I don't know why, but he's no E!... :irked: I said!
oh no, I figured: he's an E in real life but forced to act as an I, what do you think of that? it's the most plausible theory, I think :D
