After the confessions thread I began to wonder about paranoia and myself and maybe you.
Is it strange to have so little faith in the world around you, that you believe that everyone else are playing dumb to make you feel good?
It strikes me as odd that after so many years of evolution and history that we are only here at this point in time.
Of course if I was right then you (not necessarily calling you dumb btw) would play along and pretend that it is only a figment of my imagination. Or would you attempt to relate and lull me into false confidence?
Continuing because it's fun to get it out.
I love metaphors and speech control and thanks to work I see all levels of interactions around me (facial, body, movement, voice, breathing patterns eye movement) and thanks to my memory I can remember it (unless I'm being drugged and my memory isn't accurate, or maybe I think I remember it but I don't). So if I can notice how my subliminal communication works and see the way that I affect people then does it mean that people should see it too? Surely 4 years of behavior control isn't all it takes to see what's around you.
So if everyone else is all a big act does that make me stupid? And if they are acting am I the focus of the universe or are they acting because everyone else acts differently? Do I speak up at the risk of alienation if I'm wrong?
Around me at university I look and see people who arn't actually smart at what they do, starting with students and now onto the professors - how is it possible to master a subject like computer science without having a single clue about it? Is technology marketed so well that in truth the industry is stagnant?
Was Shakespeare hinting at something when he said
All the worlds a stage.....
