The title and poll rather speaks for itself.

Me, I seem to prefer dimly-lit outdoors, seconded by dramatically lit indoors. Not too dark to see my hands, but just bright enough to accent certain things, and just too dim to read small print.

Too bright, and I seem to get kind of distracted and dissociated. I wear sunglasses most of the time.

PADDED WALLS. I've wanted padded walls since I first saw them in a nut house movie. I wanna run into them, put a straightjacket on, and invite guests over to freak them out.

I think you really need them! Well, perhaps we all do according to the world, but you more so than everyone else. =)

I know you don't have a brain, but do you really have to eat mine too? Go eat someone else's - preferably an ESFJ's.

An ENTJ's then. Or many ESFJs. The world could do with much less extroverts. =)

Or just eat an elephant's brain.

an ENTJ's brain would be 40 times the size of yours, and elephants would be 41 times the size of yours.
I just want a feast, something the size of an orange. but that tastes of delirium salted with freckles

Dammit, go and eat something normal. Like fish. Just leave my brain alone, it's bigger than your head anyway.

(by the way sorry chainsaw... i prefer the dimly lit outdoors.)

Natural light, so I chose outdoors, well lit. But I admit I was thinking in terms of taking photographs.

Yes, I should have been more specific. I was specifically referring to environments to relax or socialize in. Obviously, the person who spends the majority of their time reading is going to want adequate lighting, and so on.

I would probably still choose the same way. I spent years with a vitamin A and DHEA deficiency; my eyes did really poorly in bad light. It's no longer an issue, but I still prefer good, natural lighting. I can't stand fluorescent lighting or the energy saving bulbs and I refuse to watch TV / movies with the lights out for that "theatre" atmosphere, much to my husband's dismay.

yep. indoors i prefer dimmer, indirect light unless i'm reading a book, then i like to have a nice soft 40w fluorescent over my shoulder.

bright light in general tends to bother me, so if i'm outside i have my shades on, unless the cloud cover is very dense.

I actually prefer to be outside, wind on my face and all. No matter which time of day; just not when it's cloudy and gloomy. I guess it's just something different from being indoors most of the time.
Only thing is that I get really antsy about bugs and moisture (I'm thinking about sitting somewhere outdoors). I'm not terrified of bugs, but it's still unpleasant when they crawl up your leg or something...

Indoors I like it dimly lit, or bathed in sunshine.

the weather here is seldom very pleasant to be out in, seems like it's either hot and humid as hell or cold with nasty precipitation.

enough of the country boy remains that i still occasionally want to go out and do stuff on nice days but with the wife going to school and not working finances and time are limited. hopefully once she graduates in a year or so that will change.

During the day I love natural light be it outdoors or indoors. In the evening I really enjoy dim light, such as candlelight or lamps.

I like it outdoors, but mostly I like it not noisy. I especially hate if there's TV on in the background. Light levels don't make a difference but I seem to be a lot more comfortable with low or no light than most people are.

Indoor or Outdoor? Indoors. But Outdoors are healthy sometimes.

Urban or Rural? I am 100% urban. The more advanced the city is, the best.

I like the outdoors when it's sunny and the sky is pretty much clear. Bathing in the sunlight, reading and enjoying the view is one of my favorite things to do. I like modern, brightly lit indoors. I live in the suburbs and I'm glad I do. Away from the noise and the pollution in my spacious, stylish garden.

If I'm outdoors, I need to have sunglasses (I get headaches in bright light). Generally, I work best indoors with dark colors and warm light.

And I prefer really, really cold environments. The colder, the better.

Sigh, if I only lived in a place where it was freezing cold everyday... *dreamy gaze*

In the shower, i think the clearest in the shower with the lights off. Weird but its the truth.
But to do work i like to sit in an organized, dimly lit location, indoors. It cant be completely quiet, the sound of the ac humming is enough noise though.

Indoors, quiet, well lit, no natural light, slightly warm. I'm not much of an outdoor person, I like to go on walks and such, but I don't like the unpredictability of the weather.

I am not very sensory. I don't find gloomy clouds and rain depressing, so I've often said that I like them, but perhaps not more than other lighting and weather situations. I don't like to be cold at all and will go to great expense avoiding it. Hot and humid I find relaxing. I like snow if I'm inside next to a warm fire. I like camping and hiking if I can stay warm. I don't like being wet. I suppose quiet is the best environment for me. Outdoors or indoors, wherever there is some peace and quiet is fine with me. I live inside myself so much that I barely notice my surroundings at all.

i grew up in british colummbia where all the trees are evergreens. then just around my 16th birthday my family moved to ontario, in the fall. all the leaves were off the trees, and all that i could think was: what kind of post apocolyptic hell have my parents moved me to? everything looked dead, i was depressed for i dont know how long. is it possible that the color green could make me happy? i do know that the color green in the form of money, makes me care a whole lot less about leaves on trees.

I like industrial environments where there's lots of noise and metal. The diesel shop where I work is fine. I also enjoy factories, refineries, machine shops, fab shops.

I also enjoy being outside when it's cloudy/rainy. My ideal day would be when it's misting all day long- not quite rain, but a little more substantial than fog. With a high of about 50 degrees F. I think I'd like Britain.

inside, by a window, on the couch with book, late afternoon, fall or winter, with a big, ugly electrical/rain storm doing its worst outside...the kind where the sky looks almost purple and the trees look like they're made of neon.

nothing beats it for me. =)

danalaina added to this post, 1 minutes and 39 seconds later...

is it possible that the color green could make me happy?

i think so.

i moved from a place that was practically swamp to a desert. the only time of year i can look outside and be pleased with my surroundings is in the spring when the hills are green. brown terrain can suck it.

A outside a cabin - high in the mountains with a view fit for the Gods. The air should be chilly, but the sun should be high and bright.

I think I'm going to move to Canada at some point in my life.

I prefer outdoor environments with little light present. Either confining like a forest or awe inspiring like a mountain, anywhere that is a relief on my mind. Any place that allows me to escape the mundane.

I do alot of camping in the woods, Dusk is my favorite time of the day, just after the sun is no longer visible.

I like it Cold, Dark, and Humid. Storms, must have them as well.

Fit for the Gods, indeed.

Same pretty much.
For outside, prefer dusk or night. I need my transition lenses to go out in the day.

Inside, depends. Prefer a moderate amount of light in general, but for looking at detail I need bright, white light.

Prefer light, pale colored walls, off white, pale cream, etc. More middle tones can be nice if I really need relaxation and rest, like a sand color. Do not like a lot of deep earth tones, or primary color variants, woodgrains, unfinished surfaces, or excessive decoration.

Like it to be about 68°f, imperceptible humidity (not too damp, not too dry). Prefer quiet except for noise which I choose to have (music, pc running, fans, etc)

Prefer little perceptible aroma, though very faint earthy smells can be nice, or cedar. Incense works. Some scented candles can be nice also

I can see why you'd be depressed- I was born in Ontario and went to B.C. for school, and though the constant rain in Abbotsford bit the big one, the greenery was spectacular. Plus, I live in Southern Ontario where we hardly have any snow and it always seems overcast. Sucks!

Love being in a snowy forest with afternoon sun, cold and bright, hilly but not really mountainous- snowshoeing.

Indoors I'd need one of those old leather wing-backs (so if I fell asleep my head could rest on the wings) in front of a fire (real please, no flick-a-switch gas fireplaces here) in my own personal library, with deep oranges, rusts or yellows with a great big paisley earthtone rug and heavy velvet curtains opening to windows showing driving rain outside (at night). Or softly falling snow.

Conversely, one of those all-wood cabins, Muskoka-style, but not too prissy.

Being in a greenhouse is nice too, as long as you don't have to work there. Lots of plants.
