I scored as an INTP... and an enneagram 8 with sexual variant...
ok, so I do often flip around between INTP and INTJ on tests, but this test seems weird to me because an enneagram 8 with sx variant and INTP just don't seem to go together...if it had scored me as INTJ then it would seem more normal...

...What happened? I was an INTJ with an ennagram of 5 about a week ago. I consistently score weak on N and J, though, but I'm definitely not a high-risk person...

Later: The more I look at this, the more I think it's wrong.

I must be a dirty, dirty, filthy liar on these tests. Either that, or the wording of the question confused me. I'm very, very bad at question interpretation. Can't these statements be in more detail and more complete? Only then I might be able to give an accurate response.

Compared to the last Enneagram test, I think this is less accurate. I'm definitely more type 8 than anything else. In fact, any time I'm not in control or am facing some rough confrontations, I get really really edgy and can't focus much until its resolved.

I scored 8 w/ Sx on the last enneagram test (some other thread), and, based on the description, its much more suited to me than a 9. I definitely don't care about people ... unless they're special...as in specially the ones that take care of my needs, if chu know what I mean :thumbsup:

No not really, since personalities aren't absolute and tests aren't perfect.
People vary and so do tests, so I suppose it's better if you take a lot of tests and try to catch a pattern. Say if some personality preferences are near borderline, then you'll usually get mixed results from different tests.

(Yes, that's me. I don't quite understand the variant self pres though.
As i'm looking through this website about INTP, it seems very accurate, but there are a few things that are completely opposite. For example, it says that INTPs thrive on systems, which is something quite untrue for me. Interestingly enough, Tiger Woods, Einstein, and Issac Newton are INTPs.

Well, after taking this test, I'm going to check out the INTP forum and see which group I more fit into. Most tests give me INTJ, except for this one (and this other completely wrong one that gave me a ESTP). Gah, I feel like such a confusing person :laugh:

I don't consider myself aggressive at all...Per Riso & Hudson E6 & E8 share aggressiveness:Sixes and Eights are aggressive, although only the Eight is an entirely aggressive personality. Sixes react both to their fears and to other people and constantly oscillate from one state to another, from Level to Level. They are ambivalent and passive-aggressive, evasive, and contradictory. In contrast, Eights have solid egos and formidable wills; they keep pushing others until they get them what they want. There is little softness in Eights and even less tendency to comply with the wishes of anyone else. They have no desire to be liked or to ingratiate themselves with others. Rather than look to others for protection, Eights offer protection (patronage) in return for hard work and loyalty.

As different as these two types are, they are nevertheless similar at Level 6–but only at this Level. Sixes become aggressive because they do not want to be pushed around anymore; Eights become aggressive to push others even more.

The essential difference is that Sixes eventually will yield and their defenses will crumble if enough pressure is applied to them, whereas opposition to Eights only encourages them to remain defiant and to meet their adversary with renewed aggression.

Both types at this Level can be dangerous; ironically, Sixes are probably more dangerous at this stage than Eights since they are anxious and may strike out at someone impulsively or irrationally. On the other hand, average Eights are more rational: they take the odds of success into account at every move. If and when they finally do become violent, however, Eights are more dangerous than Sixes because they are more ruthless, and the momentum of their inflated egos makes them feel that they can and must press onward until their enemies are utterly destroyed. Eights eventually become megalomaniacs (and may be destroyed after they have destroyed others). By contrast, unhealthy Sixes eventually become self-defeating (and may be destroyed by their own fear).

Very strange! I did try to be completely honest ... Usually score INTX with 5w4. I am fairly certain I am 5w4, although the theory goes that 5 moves to 7 under stress. I'm trying to figure out the best direction for my life right now, so I suppose that is my main source of stress. I have gotten impatient and craved excitement more than usual lately.

It does not make much sense to me to be an introverted type 7. Sevens are usually extraverted sensors. I think the result is caused by a move to 7 from 5. If life were going swimmingly for me, i think I would not crave as many diversions ...

That's not really true. Every type has two wings. The wings are the types on either side of the core type (i.e. Type 1 can be 1w9 or 1w2, type 4 can be 4w3 or 4w5). And while one wing will almost always be stronger, both wings are always there. A wing can only be one of the types directly next to the core type (i.e. you can't be a type 5 and a 5w8 or 5w1, 5 can only be 5w4 or 5w6). Not all tests give you your wing, but if you look at the strength of your other numbers, you can likely identify your wing. For example, say you test as type 3 and your results look like:

I think this test is flawed some how... my N is usually very strong. I've looked through some posts and everyone's N is much closer to 50% than 100%. The N is a big part of the INTJ, it's surprising to me it would be so low. personally i like the humanmetrics (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. Also i have some misgivings about the Enneagram test. Me and many others above seem to very closely tie with many types of the theory... kinda gives off a horoscopy "you're a little bit of everything..." feel which kinda defies the whole idea of creating types.... or maybe INTJs are hard to type for Ennegram?

Mkay, I'm considerably a Type 5 (with a tritype addition of Gut 9w8 sw1w9 and Heart 3w4) [tested as a Type 5 with equal wings, yesterday] so given the Type 8 being on top I assume that means I'm growing healthier ^^ (8 is growing direction of 5).

Also, the variants often tend to switch [yesterday it said sx/sp/so for instance, and a friend of mine thinks I'm so/sx/sp].

Yeah it's pretty baffling, ever since the summer & now that I'm in college I feel better about myself and suddenly I constantly test as 50/50 on the J/P part, so I consider it as a balance as well & I love it! (I tested as a P before, during the last two years of high school.)

I guess I'm kinda ANTX. (A stands for Ambivert, which is 50/50 of E/I...)

That is the first time I actually scored INTJ.

The problem for me is those questions like, "Do you value competence over kindness." First of all, there's tons of situations where competence includes kindness, like being a day care provider. Second of all, what's the scenario? If I'm getting an MRI, I value competence. If I'm asking someone at the bank to investigate weird charges that have shown up on my account, I value competence. If I've just been sideswiped by a car and am lying bleeding in the street, then until the ambulance arrives, I value kindness. If I'm sitting alone in a restaurant and I've just quietly started to cry, I value kindness.

Probably a control measure in case you rush, or in case previous questions alter your perception.
Plus some are not the same, e.g. being organized and wanting to be organized are different.

I'd say on first impression it's a good testing method, as long as they are interpreting the results properly.
