View Full Version : Game stores a good way to meet INTJ's?

I laughed at the dichotomy of looking for IN's that are most likely maverick introverts while reading through the thread of 'where to find INTJ men'. Ladies and gents, I might have a solution other than a book store. (When I'm in a bookstore I'm usually in my headspace and not wanting to be interrupted either, even though I'm an E.)
I love gaming, and once worked in a gaming store. Wow, I think I found more introverts than I knew what to do with!
Now that I've read this forum a bit, I'm looking back and wondering how many were interested in me that I didn't pick up on?
So...how many INTJ's here are gamers and if so, what games do you play? Because it seems on the one hand, that I met quite a few that way. But on the other, seems the idea of gaming would bore a lot of INTJ's to tears, especially if it's a platformer or a level grinding MMO.
( I did see an older thread but not sure how up to date it is.)

I like chess, Go, and other thinky board games like that. Blockus and Quarto are cool. And weird puzzles. I've never been into RPGs or video games.
Probably would be a good place to meet introverted guys.
I love Videogames, especially difficult ones. Doesnt matter if its a platformer or Mmo, Aslong as i can beat other people to it there is enough motivation for me to do it.
I can beat the Megaman and MegamanX games almost with my eyes closed, when i see my friends struggling at the basics of the game i laugh at one part and get frustrated on the other sinds its so easy for me.
Mmo are fun from time to time. Depends on how good i can beat other people.
My best friend is an ENTJ and togheter we make a perfect team and like to stomp everyone into the ground ^^
By the way, first time im posting here. Hi guys :>

Forget gaming stores - wait until Starcraft 2 comes out and play it. I bet it will attract a lot of INTJ's - it's the perfect game for our type :)!

I play mostly first person shooters and I also like real time strategy games.
I like the Halo series, Gears of War, Call of Duty series.
Real time strategy: Starcraft and Halo Wars.
I also like racing games. My favorite is Midnight Racing Los Angeles.
I don't like role playing games.
As for board games, I used to like scrabble and chess.
I got addicted to Sudoku for several days.

I only play fast paced multiplayer first person shooters. Nothing else is as much as an adrenal rush and I'm profoundly gifted at them. I have met several friends in real life that started out as online gaming buddies. Gaming from my experience is an excellent way to meet people of all different personalities, but I suppose there are more introverted than extroverted gamers.

Eww gaming stores.... Maybe a well run independent store. Gamestops/etc seem to just be havens for teens who think that playing video games makes them smart.

I should think you'd meet more INTJs online than at a gaming store unless you were employed there.

I have friends who run a gamming store. (Warhammer, D&D, RPGs, TCGs, so on and so forth) Just for fun we made all of the regulars type themselves. I N P came out as higher than the normal population. T vs F was in normal ratios. Granted, this wasn't a giant amount of people, but enough for an interesting trend to be spotted.

As far as type goes I don't know if what games they buy is any indication. I'm into JRPGs and Fighting games, but I'm a lot more imagination driven.

right now... i'm kind of addicted to guild wars & starcraft
i'll be a little upset when starcraft 2 comes out, since starcraft probably won't see much action after it's release.
i was pretty excited about dragon age, but now i'm a little skeptical. that character creator was fucken trash. not many good games coming out this holiday season, unfortunately.

You'll get a lot of idiots in gaming stores as well. A lot of INTJs, but you can never be sure. And geeks so carried away by their little game world that they will be socially awful.
So much for laughing about dichotomys, you used "meet" and "INTJs" in the same sentence... :)

Well I'm almost certain I met a few, and that they were making advances, I just didn't know the signs. After reading this forum, I'm sitting back recalling instances in which they were probably really trying and I did not have a clue. Live and learn.
