View Full Version : Strange odd pressure on your "mind's eye"...

Recently in the last 2 years I've on occasion experienced a pressure on what I would consider the "mind's eye." Ie. The center part of the forehead where the "mind's eye" is considered to be. Ok, after googling, perhaps this is the "third eye" or the place where the dot is in the Indian culture...

Its as if something is pressing on that specific spot.

Wondering if:
1. Anyone has experienced anything like this before...
2. Should I just go see a doctor already?!

:o)

It comes and goes, and usually shows up more frequently when I'm thinking about someone intensely, or when in deep prayer (or most often when praying for someone or something intensely).

I think it's just stress. I felt it a few times, very, very rarely. It's usually own the back of my brain, though. It happens when I'm thinking hard or am stressed. You might want to see a doctor if you really think something is wrong.

Dude, it's just a headache. Often a sinus headache will cause your head to hurt around that spot. It probably means you're just blocked.

But its not pain... I don't get headaches.... well, that aren't caffeine withdrawal related...

Its like ... a pressure... like someone has put their finger right on the spot where you would see an Indian's dot.... I'm totally serious man! Just north of the eyebrows, above the bridge of the nose.... :scared:

I have this too, mostly if I am under stress or when I am day dreaming intensely. Also when I am like that apparently my face turns totally blank, which seems to scare people :suspicious:.

Hey Pavman,

I suffered from this everyday for two years between the ages of 17 and 19. I saw doctor after doctor and had every check under the sun to make sure it wasn't anything 'scary'.

Turned out to be a form of tension head ache caused by a group of nerves that (imagine this if you can) come up round the back of your head and focus at exactly this point. I was prescribed strong painkillers (which wasn't really great as I had to take them a couple of times every day) as there was little else they could offer at the time.

I figured that between the ages of 17 and 19, i was feeling more stressed than I ever had before thanks to worrying about higher exams, and then adjusting to university, and around about the time that things settled and I became more comfortable with everything the pain eased off quite quickly and (6 years on) rarely experience it now. This might well be all it is; it sounds exactly the same.

Of course, I'm not doctor, and anything that might have you slightly concerned and that causes frequent pain should be checked out, just in case, but I wouldn't get too worried about it. Always best to cover your back though :)

When i'm trying to visualize someone or something, a feeling of pressure. Ignored any physical sensations with it though (knew it was internal)...so don't know about external location. Internally, always above and between the eyes though.

People always joke with me bec i am can work out the probability of things quickly in my head, thus they call me physic. I always say its my "third eye" and that they have one too they just need to learn to use it. Ironic ;D

Through one of my abstract theories. I beleive that it is possible for a "third" eye to exsist. The possibility of clairvoyance or other "psychic" phenomenon is possible because we already have complex sensory organs which already process things like sight, sound, smell, and taste dirrectly into the brain. Because of the exsistance of other humans with simular sensory organs, the multitude of different frequencies that with some adaption, it is possible to see, or hear things that are not remotely close to you, or connected to you.

Precognition was once theorize by me, to be a phenomenon that went something like this.

Each exsistance or universe exsists on whole as a wave length, each wave stacks on top of each other, very simular to how a wave stacks up in the ocean.

Sometimes there are phenomenon where one wave folds into or influences the wave form above or below it. It is possible where someone could preceive that alternative or have that alternative reflect on them.

My theory also applied that if an alternative influenced the wave above or below it would most likely not be noticed unless there was a chaotic collapse of the two wave forms, where then they would eventually sort themselves out and that chaotic period would have ceased because of the influence of the wave above and below the two that collapsed into one.

Just like water, if you splash the water, if there is no other disturbance, the water would return to being calm. The wave form of alternatives, I beleive there are no rocks to create permanent memory between the layers.

I also beleive that the multitude of alternatives starts from a center and goes outward, pushing the first wave further and expanding it. Also enforcing the "theory" that the Universe is constantly expanding.

Pavman, I can at least relate and this has lead to years of research on that kind of topic. I keep getting terrible pressure around my heart and I can tell those of you who have not experienced it, it is far different then a stress or addiction related headache/heartache.

The pain is duller and can be more intense almost indirect and the source is hard to pinpoint. It is as though you know the pain is external or external but its placement is questionable. I’ am hard to stress out and having not felt any immediate sources of stress or fatigue I can rule them out instantly.

It can happen when I get around certain places or even near certain people, whether knowing they are there or not. I’ve continued my research non conformally and found some intriguing sources that may half way explain these conditions.

It is not just an INTJ thing and has started to affect everyone in my town. Right after the last lunar eclipse it got inexplicably bad and slowly everyone returned to normal.

Oh, as for another theory for that preasure. Your brain is leaning forward and pushing against the membrane behind your forhead. It's like one of those ominous headaches where you dont know where it's located.

LOL! I was totally with you until that lunar eclipse statement!

I haven't had it in a while. Every once in a blue moon it happens. Although lately its been happening again, but only when I'm thinking about a particular person.

I am relatively stress-free right now. I've been trying to figure out what it is, but its probably nothing serious, otherwise I would notice it more... it could just be that I'm wrinkling my forehead more and I notice the muscles tensing up on their own.

Oh well, I'm not concerned about it, at least not yet

Maybe you are thinking so hard, that you are fusing their thoughts into your mind through your forehead.

Yeah just take a load off, relax and get some "alone" time away from the annoying populous, it might just be my area and even then too many other variables exist to jump to radical conclusions.

I don't consider that "pressure" a headache due to stress. I get mentally fatigued sometimes due to my heavy course load, but I don't consider it "pressure" either.
