This is another twist on the MBTI tests. This one tries to determine your cognitive process order first and determine your MBTI type from that. How do your results on this test compare to other MBTI tests you've taken?

I just took this one... and got some FUNKY results...
Though I must say I am in an unusual mood... will redo later and post the results =/

Yeah, I got some funky results too. *It put me as an INFP, which is close in some respects, but way off mark in most. Maybe it would've been more accurate if I could understand the questions...

I'd say trust your feelings, but I have no basis for that.
And apparently no feelings either.

Ditto on the tiredness. It didn't end up making much sense to me. They had words next to eachother that didn't seem to ever make sense being next to eachother. I think I actually fell asleep halfway through... (it was late... actually, it's late now... I should sleep :()

Sorry, I derailed.
The majority of the questions didn't make sense to me. I wonder if I'm dumb. ;D

Well, I dunno about the robot part...And the whole world thing is too much to bother over.
As for you being dumb, I doubt that. I had to reread some of those questions and guessed on some as well.
But if you want, we can test your intelligence and have you run a maze or something. ;)

The test could be better, but I like the idea behind it. I think it's potentially a good way for testing MBTI type, especially for those people who are too familiar with the standard kind to answer the questions without bias. I agree though, it could use some tweaking with the phrasing of the questions. I don't think they're phrased in the same way we think about our actions.
I got INTJ but I've also gotten INTP on this one. The results are usually so close together that changing a couple of answers would probably flip them.

They think I'm an INTP!
I'm positive I'm a "J" but I think it's my husband's fault that I use "P" strategies more now.
I have learned a lot from him - he's very "P".
That was a cool test, but they need to fix it.

These are my most recent results. I have most often tested as an INFJ, but have wondered occasionally about being an INTJ. I do have more strongly developed focus on Feeling than most INTJs, but I was raised in a mostly Fi dominant family, which would seem consistent with these results. What I don't doubt is that I am an introvert who is iNtuitive dominant (i.e. Ni). I interpret the high result for Ne to be an extension of an especially strong preference for iNtuition overall. Although, I do find this test limited in certain ways. For example the Fe questions assume a very extroverted position of being a host who attends to the feelings of multiple people at once. This is not consistent with any strong introvert.

I test for most preferences on this in pairs. Both T scores are highest and close together, both Ns are next, both Ss are next. F is the exception... My Fi score on this was high last time I took it (36.5) and I don't even consider myself a borderline feeler. Though Fe was "unused".
I've wondered if the questions on this were unbalanced and biased to give results as certain types. A lot of the INTJs seem to score as other types on it.

I agree that the test questions are suspect. This is also true of so many of these quickie online tests. I'm still wishing they will come out with a cognitive skill based MBTI rather than self-report, which is proven to be one of the most inaccurate forms of assessment.

Ok, now I've taken this one before and I got weird results then too. Granted, I am in a really bad/weird mood, but I don't put it all down to that. I always score terribly on F (who wants an F anyway?). However, I think I use Ni and Ne fairly equally. I, in fact, actively engage in using Ni all the time. It's the primary reason I study all this stuff and write like a fiend in my journals. I am always trying to understand myself and others so that we may grow to our potential.
But how in the world does this test decide E/I?? I cannot tolerate spending too much time alone. Several hours is too much time alone, I have to call somebody on the phone. I am no introvert. And I am *way* too picky to be a P. Weird, just weird.

Toonia - oops, I missed this! I'm basing my observation on the results in this thread and I've seen the same thing mentioned on a couple other MBTI forums. I'm aware that isn't a huge sample group, but I didn't notice this trend of conflicting results being quite so common with the self proclaimed INTPs.

So by this, Im either an XNTP or an INTJ. I knew I was a mutt of some NT variety, hence why the i and j you see to the left are lower-cased. Guess it really depends on my mood.
I'd like to develop the extraverted thinking to "excellent use" also. That would make me the ultimate xNTx.

I took it again. Still INTP -- weird. I think it's just because of situational stuff -- I've developed my Ti a lot in the last year. I'm certainly no introvert. This time it suggested also ENTP (which I've tested as other times, but don't really identify with the more I read) or INTJ. If I soften myself, I notice that I get more ENTP. However, when I just act as feels natural, ENTJ usually comes out.

I got the same thing...
Thanks for admitting to not understanding the questions...
because now I can say I wasn't sure what in the world they were trying to say for several questions...
I had the same experience. And I also got INFP. Now INTP I could sometimes see... but F??? No, there's something off about this test.

This confuses me. I tested as using Ni and Ne almost equally, and using Te and Ti almost equally, but with a slight edge for Ni and Te (yay INTJs). What does it mean if the INTJ 5th and 6th functions (Ne and Ti) are almost as strong as the 1st and 2nd (Ni and Te), and all much stronger than the 4th (Se)? Does it mean that when it comes to reasoning ability, I can think like both an INTJ and an INTP? As far as feelings are concerned, I know that I behave like an INTJ.

By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INTP
Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Thinking (Ti): Gaining leverage (influence) using a framework. Detaching to study a situation from different angles and fit it to a theory, framework or principle. Checking for accuracy. Using leverage to solve the problem.
Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Intuiting (Ne): Exploring the emerging patterns. Wondering about patterns of interaction across various situations. Checking what hypotheses and meanings fit best. Trusting what emerges as you shift a situation’s dynamics.

This brings up something else interesting to me. For those with x's in their type. I wonder if both of those functions share the same attitude (mainly), or if they are opposite. For example, being Ni, Si equally, or being Ne Si equally.
To anyone who has taken a test measuring the functions and attitudes of each, would you care to report? I'm interested to see if there's a pattern. Although anyone can really reply, I'm especially interested in X types here.

Your Cognitive Development Profile
The forty-eight questions you rated earlier tap into the eight cognitive processes. Some questions tapped into basic or developed use of a process used by itself, while other questions tapped into use of multiple processes at once. The profile below is based on your responses. The number of squares indicate strength of response. The equivalent numeric is shown in parentheses along with likely level of development.

I saw some recognition of the observed usage of at least the 6th function in this article (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) about MTR-i:
the above tables are inferred from our research on the orientation of the functions: that the dominant and tertiary functions are clearly oriented in the preferred direction; the auxiliary and inferior are roughly equally split between both orientations; and the tertiary in the opposite direction is the lowest scoring of all the function-attitudes
This seems to confirm what can be seen with INP's around forums; INTP's and INFP's both recognize Ni, but less of Te/Fe. However, it doesn't explain the high Ne in INTJ's.

I took this test several times a few months ago.
There was one occasion where I seemed different than the average INTJ. I felt strange and became curious, consequently, I decided to take the test. Unlike many of you who may tested as an INTP, I was tested ISFP!!With other possible results as INTJ or ENTJ
My Ni,Te,Fi,Se was pretty balanced(and is ordered in this way).
By that time I somehow developed my Se by working out, and my Fi by listening to classical music.

I tested as an ISTJ. I suppose I do tend to prefer routines, which may sometimes balance out my tendency towards abstraction.
I think the J type also prefers routine and structure. I think you are a strong Judger. Wouldn't that balance N out?

I tend to prefer routine and repetition so that my mind could drift into abstraction.

Summary Analysis of Profile
By focusing on the strongest configuration of cognitive processes, your pattern of responses most closely matches individuals of this type: INTJ (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)Lead (Dominant) Process
Introverted Intuiting (Ni): Transforming with a meta-perspective. Withdrawing from the world and focusing your mind to receive an insight or realization. Checking if synergy results. Trying out a realization to transform things.
Support (Auxilliary) Process
Extraverted Thinking (Te): Measuring and constructing for progress. Making decisions objectively based on evidence and measures. Checking if things function properly. Applying a procedure to control events and complete goals.
If these cognitive processes don't fit well then consider these types: ENTJ (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.), or INTP (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)
I have scored INTP or ENTP on this, too.

yup these are basically how mine come out too. ni and ne and te and ti within a couple points of each other and randomly falling into various NT types. I think this system is inherently flawed.

I really like this test. It is the only one that got me as an INFP and its analysis made more clear for me why I am not a typical INFP.

I scored ENTP, with high Se(just behind Ne) and unused Fi.
Doesn't seem to be a bad test, but if it's an on-going project I imagine they'll tweak it a little. I wonder how they interpret the answers to some of those questions.

Interesting, my score really depends on interpretations. It's also interesting to see that I can use both Ni and Ne with few problems. Ni and Ne were supposed to oppose each other, but apparently this is not my case. Maybe I am a "flaw in the pattern"
