Im not worried at all about the future of the US. The US always manages to come out on top, don't be a hater, just live with it ! :P

I'm not a hater :) - all of this cynical "America is going down the drains," "America is the root of all that is corrupt and evil in this world" annoys me after a while. I like the American people- I'm just wary of the government, and of any government for that matter.
We've only been a superpower for a relatively short period of time, and though I seriously doubt that we'll always remain on top, I think that we'll remain a country with high living standards and a strong (though certainly not impervious) economy. Change happens- and I'm intrigued to watch where America is headed. I think that the article has a fairly accurate view of America's future role in the world.

Of course you should take this article with a grain of salt, just because he says it doesn't mean it will happen, but he does make a lot of great points and has deep insight. I really hope America stays on top. I love this country and have great pride in it, I don't know why I just do. I care about anything that is associated with me I guess.
The EU bothers me, they aren't even one country. The US and China are legitimate super powers. They are their own countries, the EU is a number of different countries that decided to consolidate. Europe's economy might be stronger than the US', but what about Italy's or France's? We are still far superior to them economically and in power. Whatever may happen, we will always be up their in power.

I wouldn't say that the USA is 'going down the drains', but he external environment around it is changing. China & India are finding their own feet in the world markets and Europe is deciding through choice to establish a strategic coalition. Europe has huge potential, but significant barriers (acceptance that national politics & economy will be subsumed). If the US doesn't find itself a new market position, it will loose edge. Economies, politics and countries are built on change - ethics aside, consider the reign of the British Emprire. This change is continuous and can be controlled.

How can anyone say different when we have such a kick ass theme song? (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)

I will help anyway I can. I think Ill start by proclaiming my unilateral support for a mightier STRONGER military and hope to see all forms of hope for my enemies dwindle to nothing under the sheer weight of steel and ordinance my great national military carries! :P
How was that? Too over-the-top? Should it be longer? :)
