I'm wondering if INTJ's love walking by kiosks in the mall. You know...the Sunglass Hut, the Verizon salespeople, the jewelry hut, the <insert regional college memorabilia> hut, the hair-straightening, the wallet hut, the rings hut, the cell phone cover hut, etc.......
personally I don't like them, and I try to walk as far away from the Verizon wireless salespeople as possible, looking away from them as I pass.
Do you guys love, or dislike walking by the salespeople at these kiosks?

i work mall security and i LOATHE kiosks. of course, most of them are run by snotty latinas who ignore anyone who isn't a gangbanger, or pakistani and almost always on their cellphone talking to the next pakistani-owned kiosk gossiping in whatever language it is they speak. when i'm shopping, i stay as far away as possible from them. when i'm working - i just ignore them unless i'm too busy taking note of their lease violations and leaving $100 fines ;) mwoohaha... it is especially fun to remind them that it is against mall policy to operate space heaters, considering the fact that the temperature control in the mall Sucks and it is generally freezing.... oh, i'm mean.

I feel sorry for them having to stand in the middle of the walk way all day. Seems akin to some form of torture to me.

its not that bad... some make pretty good money (the owners, that is). the rest are just kids who literally get paid to sit all day and do nothing, socialize with friends, do homework, or sit on the internet. with mall traffic being as down as it is, they're lucky if they get one sale a day... its pretty bad... at our mall, at least.

I hate kiosks and the sales people there are just....invasive to personal space. I try to stay as far away from them as I can and look away from them. Some have cool stuff but even those I just glance at for a second then look away.

A big dislike for me. They annoy me, seem too cluttered.

Not to mention they block the big wide path.

I'm not a big fan of the mall in general. I don't mind the jewelry kiosk, but, oh no, keep me away from those cell phone sales people. ACK.

Ugh. I hate those. There used to be this one "stress" kiosk and every time I walked by the attendant kept asking me if I wanted a free stress test. I declined. After he asked at about the 5th time I had accumulated enough stress to want to get a bat and bash his head in, but I figured I shouldn't cause any more brain damage than he already has. I mean, he must have had real short term memory if he had to ask me with his cheesy smile, "Would you like a free stress test?" over and over again in the same hour.

I don't really like malls either and the kiosks seem like rubbish in the middle of a roadway. It's not that I don't like shopping, there are just too many freakin people most of the time.
Used book stores, thrift shops, and dollar stores, now that's a different story...

oooooh, thrift... that's my bag too. "So ....cheap...must..buy!". Plus, the charity ones help others, or so I've been told.
The kiosk people seem too much like pressure to do something, and it's an assumption that I'm there to waste time, that I have nothing else to do. However, being a student, I know they're just trying to make money. Still, I do the same thing- avoid eye contact- as others have said.

I like to look at the stuff, but I hate getting stuck with a talkative salesperson.

I've yet to see a kiosk selling anything remotely purchasable (well, cellphones count I suppose, but why buy one at a kiosk?). High pressure sales people, crowded pedestrian traffic, and me trying to get somewhere (If I'm at a mall, I'm trying to buy something or window shop for something very specific, and want to do it as quickly as possible). Bad combination...

OK, I think the cat is out of the bag.
This thread was basically a joke. I was walking through the mall the other day, and my gf and I were even more annoyed than usual, due to all the 5'2" fat women that bump our elbows as they walk by. I kept making comment trying to liven up my gf before she went crazy and we walked by another god damned kiosk selling worthless sh*t and I said "Man, I bet INTJ's HATE kiosks... I'm going to start a thread asking if they like or dislike them... " to which she (ISTJ) laughed and said "of course they hate kiosks..."
So...yeah...good news is we passed! This forum passed the test! lol.
Anytime I'm walking by and a salesperson asks me if I want to be sprayed with something, touched with something, have my hair straightened, play a video game, or otherwise look at or do something that is childish, I want to kick them in the groin as hard as possible. The women, too.
Sometimes I want to just stop and say "get some dignity and get a real f&cking job."
I mean, if nobody took those LAME ASS jobs (and yes, it's lame when you're a 30 year old dude, working at some kiosk and you're pervin' on the 16 year old girls that walk by), then I suppose they wouldn't "work", right? Maybe the kiosks would go bye-bye. The owners sure as hell wouldn't man the post. Cuz that's lame.
I believe in Capitalism, but I sure wish some people would refuse to do certain work.
So, if you man a kiosk, you are a F*CKING LAME ASS LOSER AND YOU NEED TO GET DIGNITY AND FIND BETTER WORK. STOP PERVING ON 16 YEAR OLD SLUTS AND GO BUY A SUIT AND MAKE SOMETHING USEFUL AND SELL IT. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE LIKE OLDER THAN A TEENAGER.

Those kiosks drive me nuts. They won't leave me alone when we're just trying to walk from one store to the other, and many of the males who work in those kiosks just want to flirt with my daughter. I know most of them are just trying to earn a living, but they drive me crazy!

I don't particularly dislike them, but for some reason they always make me paranoid. Not sure why, but I tend to avoid them.
Not at all costs, though.

The only ones I hate are the ones that try to drum up business by annoying people that are simply walking past. "Ma'am, are you happy with your cell phone service?" "Yes, I am" "Well, _______ can offer you 700 fre--" "NO THANK YOU."
I like to get really loud with the No's so they either get the hint or get embarassed at making a person shout at them. :)
I basically hate anybody that gets in my way trying to get me to buy, sign, or donate to anything, though. Petitioners, salesmen, bums, those people that try to guilt you into sponsoring a child... Yeah, I hate them all.

I find them to be annoying, as there is seldom anything useful about those damn kiosks. However, the people at them mainly don't attempt talking to me. I like this arrangement. When some one of them forgets the universal "don't talk to me from your kiosk" rule, I tell them "No" once and continue walking. Maybe it's because I walk fast. Maybe it's because of some aura I project. Whatever it is, I'm fine with it. Even things I want at those kiosks, I never buy there (sunglasses, cell phones, watches).

I don't like them, but I do like walking by and staring the salesperson directly in the eye and dare them to speak to me. Usually, they will turn away in embarassment or terror.
what fun!!

Sounds like it; I'll have to try it sometime (if it works on people in my High School it should work on unmotivated employees).

I used to collect maps of every mall I went to. It eventually inspired me to design maps of my own malls I made up in my mind. I think it's something about their various shapes in terms of architecture that draws me to them.

Another thing I used to do was make my mom drive up to any of those tall-ass radio antennas you see randomly around cities. Like the 200 feet tall ones. If I spotted an antenna from afar I would force her to drive around (sometimes through winding neighborhoods), trying to locate the fence that surrounds the antenna, then we'd get out of the car and I'd stare at it for like 5 minutes, in awe. I was like 6 years old when we did this, and for some reason, seeing a giant antenna way up close was just awesome for me. Also, I think some of the fun was the challenge of us trying to get near them, because they are often visible from afar, but challenging to actually figure out how to drive up to them. They obviously don't make it easy to get close to antennas.
I think it got to the point where I'd seen like every antenna up close so I stopped making my mom drive me to them. haha.
EDIT: JEEEZ I'm such an "N". I thought I was reading the "Weird INTJ-esque crap you did when you were a kid" thread. After reading that guy's post about collecting maps of malls. Forgot he was liking the mall kiosks to his mall map collection. I'm an idiot. HAHAHA.

Mall Kiosk incident: I was at a mall and this one kiosk salesman weirdo come up to me from behind and says "go on, try it" and as I turn my head and there's this egg-beater like thingy being "thrusted" at me.
"Uh, no thanks"
kiosk salesman: "c'mon try it, will ya"
"I said no thanks"
kiosk salesman: "try it"
"Go away!"
The Verizon people are worse than drug pushers. I avoid eye contact at all costs. I do enjoy the belt buckle kiosk, but sadly they're not in every mall.

I'm neutral on the ones that don't harass you. The ones that do are torture - I feel weird walking by someone who's talking to me; that job has to suck. But I don't want to talk to them, so I ignore. But I feel weird. This goes for the actual stores that have people standing outside harassing me, too.
There is this candy kiosk in the middle of the mall around here that's awesome - very cheap and the owner is the nicest guy ever (always rounds prices down, makes suggestions without being overbearing) and not at all a creep.
The Verizon kiosk should die.

Two weeks ago: out of the blue some weirdo says to me "where you at" and "talked" me into getting a verizon phone. I somehow manage to find a way to politely refuse the phone offers and run. I'm happy with my cell phone.
I like some kiosks, at the mall I go to they sell gemstones, crystals, and other interesting stuff.

I love the kiosks. They're interesting for say 30 seconds and provide me with good entertainment.
