Educational games,

The agency has called for submissions on how it should design a massive multiplayer online game (MMO) and how such a game could support its educational objectives. Online games are familiar to most U.S. students and NASA believes an MMO could lead students into careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.

Educational games,

US Army did it too, 'America's Army' game, though it's not MMO as in in the amount on each individual server.

And yeah, it sounds like it will be a cool thing.

America's army you have to take a test before you can play...
That means no newbies and trying to pass tests (What kind of game is that! Tests just to play!).

Well, the tests aren't very hard, and you don't have to do them all, only basic training. That is one of the educational parts of the game, and it tells you how to get through, and you can do it as many times as you want. And passing the test does not un-newbie you, you are still very much a newbie when you first start, before and after the training.

And, IMO, the training part of the game is part of the fun.

You're right I was exaggerating.
I guess I've been playing Counter-Strike for too long.
It's funny when you see those people who can't use a mouse.

It's even funnier when people are apparently blind, deaf, and dumb... it's fun to sneak up on them and scare the crap out of them, and watch them slowly turn around in amazement, meanwhile you can follow their turn and stay behind them... until you get sick of it and finish them off.
