This is kind of an extension of the deja vu thread, but has anybody here ever experienced any precognitive experiences (knowing information from the future). I know of a lot of people who say they knew right away when they saw someone that they were going to marry them or have an important relationship with them. I've had this happen many times with people. I've also known when a place was going to be important to me. Any ideas where this ability comes from?

No, but I am very good at that kind of thing with people. I can know a person for like 2 minutes and know exactly what their fears and secrets are, and I have so little tact that sometimes I comment on it.... only two people ever had a second conversation with me, and one is my (now) husband, and even HE avoided me for like a week after that.

I can relate to the lack of tact. Today my mother came to me with a problem with her boyfriend and I told her what I really thought (which is that he's a dirtbag). She got upset and said I didn't understand.

Well... I did have a dream once about a conversation that happened days or weeks later. And it wasn't like I dreamed about discussing the red sox. It was a bizarre, striking and emotionally heavy conversation.

As for where that comes from... I have no idea. It could still have been coincidence. We have so many dreams in our lives that the chance of one *not* matching up with a later event in real life is pretty small. But there are a lot of interesting studies there... like people doing better on a crossword puzzle that was in the paper the day before (and which they hadn't seen) than on a fresh one. I think the possibility of more going on is very intriguing.

I don't know much about physics and how the universe works, but I like to think it has something to do with different dimensions of space and time. Of course there's no proof of this.

Yep several times, they would happen in years apart, 3 times ive seen an image of what my future classmates and teachers would like.

Yes. I've had deja vu to the point where I knew what was coming next in the conversation and *gasp* changed the future! :o)

I've also had vivid dreams that came true, but I don't know if this is really limited to a personality thing. I believe there's more to our existence than what meets the eye.

I've also fallen completely in love with a woman I believe will be my wife. Known her for almost 3 years now, and I just know she will be mine. Unfortunately, it took her a while to *finally* get out of the relationship she was in. Now she's mine.... MUHAHAHAHAHA! ... or hopefully will be soon... its driving me nutz! :o)

Oh, and I've gotten pretty good at reading trading charts, and very frequently have the precognition of what is a good investment (usually not enough time to act on it tho...like a few days, week at most). Apple, Google, Sun.. happened w/ all 3 companies... Apple was like a no brainer, but did I buy @ $24 a share? No...cause I'm an idjut.

For me, its like I project out with my intuition and get a visual flash of the solution or prediction.... like gold, food prices, and work problems... right after Y2K when gold dropped to $250 an OZ, I was discussing buying it with a friend of mine at work. He kind of talked me out of it, but it slowly cranked up to ... nearly 1K today.... I could just smack myself for not following my intuition!

the other evening everyone at work was acting a little out of sorts.... Automatically I knew it was a full moon. weird? I thought so.

I have always been able to see right through people(as many other intjs have said). I in the past would voice it just for validation. Now I just except the fact that I can do this and try not to offend or "freak" people out!

I always win in scissors, paper, stone. Some of you call it rock, scissors, paper.

Just had a game with my bro.... and guess who won. Me!!

Not visions or anything, but I will, once in a while, realize that something is going to happen, with no reasonable explanation as to why. I have found this 'instinct' to be mostly accurate (I say mostly because sometimes I'll take action to prevent it, rendering it inaccurate).

It generally deals with people misunderstanding each other, or something like that.

Haha. I have. With computer programs. I excessively download softwares with the similar functions just to find the best one for me, and when I find the right one, even at the stage of the installation wizard, I just 'know'. Not terribly spiritual, I know. I've only had that experience with one person, and I was right about his personality etc., but we disliked each other on sight :D

As for deja vus, I have them quite a lot, but they're never anything significant. I can walk by a corridor and get a sense of deja vu. Boring.

UGH. I lose at that game EVERY TIME.

Clearly, you two are balancing each other out in the universe.

I once read a story by Will Self called The Quantity Theory of Insanity. It was a very simple idea. There's a certain amount of insanity in the world, so every time someone is "cured" of it, someone else in the world must go insane. (In the story, the weird interpretations people took on this theory led to some bizarre events.)

I think that's my borderline T/F kicking in. INFJs are known to sense these psychic kind of things.

Read up on remote viewing and collective knowledge. I suppose it's somewhat connected with the precognition ability..... the things man don't really know yet.

Absolutely. As a child I would habitually dream events that would then occur, and in fact have described dreams to friends to then have them experience the real event along with me and get totally spooked out by my premonitions.

Now that I'm older, I rarely dream at all anymore, so I rarely have dreams that come true. But when it does occur, and I'm in the real moment realizing that I've dreamt "this" before, I somehow feel secure that I'm where I'm supposed to be in "life". Weird, but not upsetting in any way.

Haha. That's an interesting theory. I'll research it. I always try to 'predict' what the other person will do using my best reasoning abilities, but I guess it doesn't work there.

On my first date with my husband I knew that we were going to marry. For me personally, it has a lot to do with my relationship with God.

No, but I am very good at that kind of thing with people. The ability you speak of is a INTJ trait. Here's an exerpt from an article:
"Fellow workers of INTJs often feel as if the INTJ can see right through them, and often believe that the INTJ finds them wanting. This tendency of people to feel transparent in the presence of the INTJ often result in relationships which have psychological distance."

It's interesting isn't it? This is most surprising considering social skills is not a strong INTJ trait. Why we can't translate our knowledge of others into more positive ways of communicating is beyond me

I find it useful to read people, but I don't express it to the person I am analyzing. I would like to, I would find it amusing, but it usually backfires.

I'm pretty good at reading people. It's kind of off topic, but once in particular comes to mind. Back in high school, i was in my geometry class, when i finished a thought that a classmate was trying to express. He stumbled around on his way to the subject, which i've long forgotten, when i took it out of his hands and said what i thought he was going to get at.

He gave me a very startled stare, to which i replied "cause i'm freakin psychic, that's why!"

He just kept staring >.>
