Hi. I just had a quick question about what the difference is between Modifying and Editing? The posting rules state no editing, but we can modify our comments/posts; so I just want to make sure I'm behaving in a way that reflects my appreciation for the community we enjoy here at the INTJ Forum:). Thanks so much.

Modifying is the same as editing. You are free to edit/modify to your heart's content, or even delete your posts, as long as these functions are available. After 24 hours the posts become timelocked. This means that you can no longer edit the post, and the reason for this is so that posts will stay in context to the people that have already replied to them. If there is a good reason to edit or delete a post after it has become timelocked, our moderators are usually willing to oblige in assisting members with this.

Of course, we do ask that members not completely change the meaning of their posts after others have already replied to them. It is better to make additional posts to clarify so their posts don't seem out of context.
