Friendships

Read something off topic about this on another post, thought I would post it up and see what other people thought.

As an INTJ, do you find that you prefer having a few, close friendships? (Answer to this is probably obvious)

Secondly, do you have any close friendships with other NTs? I post this because, well, one, NTs are hard to find, and two, can be hard to be close friends with. I've only ever had one close friend who was an NT. Our friendship was very close, to the point where he lived in my house for a year during high school when his family moved to a different city. I consider him basically a brother. But, man, did we ever fight. Almost every day. I find it odd now, thinking back, how we could be such good friends yet still be so aggressive with each other.

Anyone else have experiences like this?

Two NT friends that I know of. One ENTP(female) and one INTJ/ENTJ(male). The ENTP and I get along famously. While I sometimes find her chaotic ways a bit exhausting she helps me to loosen up while I give her some direction. My favorite adventures have been with her. Something about Ni interacting with Ne opens up alot of possibilities. The male friend and I have always clicked but there is some sort of line we draw with each other that we just don't cross. Sort of like we know we are on similar wavelengths but we don't dare invade the others mental territory. Possibly its because we are both heterosexual males and that sort of close connection just doesn't feel right.

Same thing here, I've had a best friend, who's an ENTP, like you said, we've get along famously. I never knew why, until after taking this MTBI. Now, it all makes sense; yeah very messy person. I was kinda shocked, in my mind, "dam could you please clean your crap up! I do like you, as a person though." I also have an ENTJ best friend too, our relationship is a weird one, when I really needed to talked to him, like when I am on emergency mode. He would actually, find time out of his busy schedule to talked to me. We both appreciate each others company all the time. Chat about anything to get your mind on track.

Few, kind friends I can trust. That's all I ask. Not people that torture others just for the fun of it, or to fill some emotional void in them. Not backstabbers, not manipulators, not betrayers, not unethical bastards... I just want someone who won't put themselves before me every time.

Yes, I most certainly prefer a few close friendships.

2 of the 3 people i would consider friends are NTs (both ENTJ)

The other is an NF! (INFJ, completely awesome!)
