Pretty straight-forward. Salty, sweet, chocolatey, fruity, crunchy, chewy? Healthy, fatty?
What is your favorite snack food, and why? (If you happen to know why) Does it depend on some other variable?

For me, it depends on my mood. I go through phases when raspberries are my favorite snack food, but also times when Crunch N Munch is the best (like right now...*crunches away*). I like chocolate of the darker variety, like Dark Chocolate Peanut M&Ms, or Cadbury chocolate eggs with the sugary shell. I prefer gummy bears over gummy worms. I like caramel. My favorite snack is probably popcorn though. I do like Doritos once in a while. I tend to really enjoy healthy snacks too -- veggies, fruits, yogurt.
I exercise so much, that I don't freak out over eating some junky food sometimes. If I don't eat it, I just get nuts and tend to want to eat tons of it later because I keep thinking about it. Plus, with all the exercise I do, I find I actually desire a healthier and healthier diet (it's weird to me in a way), because it makes me feel better.

Sweet 'n' Salty Chex Mix, because Chex Mix is inherently awesome, but this variation drops the lame rye chips and inserts neat things like raisins and candy, so it's like a badass trail mix.

Chips. The USA version. Those fall under salty and fatty (and sometimes sweet). Mmm delicious. My favorites are from the Kettle chips brand...they have a honey dijon flavor that's sweet, salty, onion-y, a little bit tart and oh-so fantastic.
I like them so much that I've had to ban myself from buying them and all chips, otherwise I'll eat the entire bag.

NOW you're talkin' my language!!
For snacking, nothing beats a bag of Lay's Potato Chips and a 20oz bottle of Faygo Fruit Punch. Sweet, salty, crunchy, cold – all of the essential tastes in one treat.
Then there is the Dark Molasses cookie / ice cream indulgence. You can substitute Ginger Snaps for the Molasses cookies. The ice cream has to have some kind of chocolate or caramel ribbon in it and pralines wouldn't hurt. A cookie crunch with a dollop of ice cream coolness on it is heaven-sent.
If simplicity and convenience are in order then a box of Dots works fine; multi-flavored, sugar-sweet, and bite sized. You can suck 'em till they disappear if you want long-lasting ecstasy, or you can chomp on 'em but be prepared for an hour of teeth-picking if you do that.
Crunch 'N Munch (new style), or Cracker Jacks (old school) are both good too.
Then there are the miscellaneous treats; buttered popcorn, candy-coated peanuts, Hostess pocket-pies and chocolate-covered cupcakes, peanut brittle…hmmm, have I missed anything?

Yikes that stuff is rich! I can barely handle a Jolly Rancher... sheesh.
I do eat ice cream, and cookies, and chocolate... but whenever I do, even though it tastes so good, i feel like I ate a brick also.

it's dependent on mood and energy level. if i'm tired, i want something i don't need to prepare, which usually means junk.
cucumbers. good milk chocolate. triscuits and cheddar. cheetos. tomatoes. bacon. kettle chips with no salt.
and it's not a snack, really, but i can't turn down a nice cup of hot tea. i'm a coca-cola junkie, too, though i'm trying to avoid it.
ooh! left off beef jerky. big fan.

Bits and Bites, Pringles, popcorn, butter-toffee peanuts- if it's a vacation. Otherwise, since I'm sitting on my student ass all day, I don't.
Amen to dark chocolate- have chocolate every day. At least a little, so I'm about 10 lbs over, but I live with it.
And do love good/ripe grapefruit, oranges, and kiwis (which I eat with the skin on), bananas. But frig, fruit is so expensive, all the crap is cheap.

Cheese or anything salty. I used to like chocolate but I once tasted "real" chocolate, with no sugar, raw, and since then I haven't been able to eat anything very sweet because it tastes too sweet and I cant eat dark chocolate because it vaguely reminds me of the "real" chocolate. Not the greatest idea I have ever had, I must say.
Fresh baked bread, fresh boiled green peanuts, homemade cheese, and fresh caught shrimp.
Ectasy.

Chocolate is my absolute one vice in life. That's assuming eating 'chocolate' is unhealthy in the face of other alternatives.
Fav. "snack" foods are as follows
1: Chocolate Milk (Drinks count... right?:undecided:)
2: Chocolate covered gummy bears! (Rarity though)
3: Milky Way candy bars
4: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream (Whoever said chocolate can cure all ills spoke the truth.)
5: Chocolate Oranges (Only during Christmas day though. Bless stocking stuffers)

Basically food in general although salty is better than sugary and the more cheese the better. I once ate real chocolate, the stuff with NO sugar at all, that you aren't actually supposed to eat straight up. It has absolutely ruined my taste for sweet food.

anything sweet, anything chocolate. Candybarwise, the relatively hard to find nutrageous bar is on the top of my list, followed by the large peanut butter cups.
Ice cream, any sort of pie, rich chocolate milk, and home-made warm kefir made with whole milk top my list. Yogurt fares quite high.
To drink, I make kool-aid with neotame powder mixed in vegetable glycerine, glycerine because it's a natural preservative, neotame because it's the cheapest and most potent sweetener on the market. Literally a small squirt of the diluted neotame sweetens a whole gallon, enough to last years. Like to mix the pina/pineapple and another flavor. Also like the dye free kiwi flavor.
