For time, fleet as an arrow, swift and true
doth fly to the heart of eternity;
and like the blade which cuts the mortal wound,
do the days, and hours, unwavering...

All things must pass and time is a-flying
A tale of woe. Alas, how sad a fate!
Short is my life, and my love is dying
My life is withered; my laments too late

The arrow dark with soot draws near to me
I shield you gently from approaching fear
And as the blackened water meets the sea
Our pain entwines within a silver tear.

but love, immune to the least whim of time
will endure, beyond this song and this rhyme.

The storm is raging; it is forev'r night

An endless show'r of lightning strikes the ground,
As if to pine for words I failed to speak
Aloud. I wish I knew to find the sound
That reassures to me I am not weak.
