I just joined today and I notice some hauntingly familiar tones among some posters here lol. By chance, how many of you have played/do play Dark Age of Camelot?
I swear I have talked to some of you before.
I played on Merlin for friggin ever. TOA ruined that game, and I was quite pissed. It was the most fun of any MMO I ever played.
I had a rank 8 Shaman, (was rank 6 at level 46 before my guild finally made me plvl to 50 and one of the first cave specced shamans in the game)
Rank 7 Scout after I ebayed my shaman and got withdrawals, and a rank 5 mentalist after that ebay. Bit of a realm hopping whore, ya, but it was the most fun I ever had. I would always team up with my now best friend and we were awesome. I had some old videos, not sure where they want.
After TOA I stuck to the BG's, had a 24 inf and 24 friar, spent about 2 plat on each and would two shot most people, haha it was so fun. I hope Mythic learned from TOA and am anxiously waiting for Warhammer. I miss DAOC sometimes, but haven't played in about a year.

Sweet...I played palomides til the classic ( non-ToA) servers came out. Been there ever since. About to give up the game entirely I think ( /shudder) school full time+ work full time =No DAoC time :(

played on Iseult for ages and then on the server with all three realms, whose name i'm forgetting atm.
had a buff-spec'd level 50 bard (and later paired it with an enchanter on my second box) that reached LGM in fletching and spellcraft. fun!
haven't played in ages, but it was a good time. did me in for medieval-style fantasy MMOs, though.
now i haunt aTitD.

Wow... I played on Percival. Left a few months after ToA. Had a few 50's, a few RR3+ (only one of mine was over RR5), a few ML10... my account was stolen. I have no motivation to ever play an MMORPG again. It's a time-sink, and I've found a better use of my time: surfing.

aTiTD = A Tale in the Desert.
it's tough to describe, but let's call it all crafting. no combat, but the potential for a lot of non-combat PvP. small player base (perhaps a few hundred online at once, i'd guess). more mature crowd than the usual MMO. free download with 24hrs of free play time initially - monthly fee thereafter.
one of the things that makes the game unique is that there is the (small) possibility of being elected to a position where you have the ability to ban seven other players. one other is that the game has a cycle - a beginning and an end. every so often, the slate gets wiped, and we all start over. right now, we're in the third incarnation...somewhere between the middle and the end.
i'm surprised i haven't seen it mentioned on the board somewhere, actually. this seems like the target audience, IMO.
