Online degrees

Hello,

Has any of you have had any experience with online degrees?

Is the content of said degrees any different from the more traditionnal ones?

Are there any fields which are more open/appropriate to people with online degrees then others? I am particularly interested in Science or commerce,but any info on the matter is more than welcome.

What are good online institutions?

The reason I am asking this is that I am a rather abysmal day student at this moment and considering alternatives. I am at a crossroad where I am trying to figure out what to do next.
