A poll for the members that have a requested a name change in this thread (http://intjforum.com/YaBB.pl?num=1190695309) for the general discussion forum. These are the responses I gathered from the original thread. I'll leave this open for a day or two then change it to whichever one gets the most votes.

I'd take random talk or misc for options.

Just to let any who cares about this know, I'm changing the name and closing the poll in the morning.

Sorry to be awkward Jezebel but, using the language in George Orwell's classic 1984 as inspiration, could we call the general discussion board:
Thought Speak
Reasons are:
-we think a lot
-it sounds more purposeful than idle chatter
-it will deter Es and Fs
-retains a bit of irony with "speak" on an internet forum and
-remains true to the purpose of a general discussion board- just giving our views/ thoughts.
... and as a INTJ I'll just go right ahead and critique the other suggestions in your poll. We're all INTJ so we won't take this personally ;D
Random zone- lacks specificity (try saying that when drunk)
Big talk/ Talko Gigante!/ Behemoth Communications- you had to understand the source of these (small talk) to appreciate them- too context specific.
Miscellaneous- not creative enough.
Sermo/ sermonis- urrm INTJ's don't like being preached to?
MicroComm- rather like 1984's language but, like Big Talk etc. you have to know the source to appreciate it.
Off topic- our logical minds will just constantly ask "where's on topic then?". 'Off' sounds negative.
Party Zone- I thought that if I just write some text here you'll glance at it and ignore this name altogether, because I can't think of a reason ok?
General discussion- in a year from now, don't we want this forum to be a hallowed sanctuary for all INTJ's in the world to unite- a digital soulmate- a personality type mecca (tounge in cheek)... "General Discussion" isn't going to get us there!
Thought Speak-
I tend to like things called what they are, generally. Hence, General Discussion best describes a forum about, well, general discussion.
Behemoth Communications sounds like a phone company.
A SIDE NOTE: It the end, it doesn't really matter what it's called, because it is what it is. I do dislike trendy cutesy names though. Am I alone in my thinking?

Thought Speak- *
Thought Speak sounds... unattractive. *I guess I have to read 1984 to appreciate it; another one of those books I plan on, but never get around to reading *:(.
Bethmoth Communications DOES sound like a phone company. I dislike cutsy trendy names, but I can't resist creative names...
Sermo/Sermonis has nothing to do with preaching until the darn Anglos stole the word, altering a little bit, and changed the meaning. *So that reason is sorely attempted whether you were serious about it or not *:)
But anyway my ideas rock.
PARTY ZONE totally pwns the other options *;D

Yes, I grudgingly agree Rei, the irony in Party Zone does make it attractive...
But anyway we're affecting the democratic poll that strangely favours (yawn) Discussiones de Generalement.

*yawn* indeed...
Really, at least make it a different language to make it more interesting

You guys suck at making decisions :P
For now I'm just going to name it 'General Discussion' to appease those that want it changed from small talk. If those who are passionate about having a more creative name want to continue the cause and get enough members to agree to a better name, I'm willing to change it again later. You know, after you guys have agreed on a better name.

It would be okay with me, I like 1984 and nerdy book references. It's them you have to convince.
BUT BUT BUT!!!!
I'd rather "Small Talk" than "General Discussions" :-/

So, I say we start a campaign for a new name that all the (vocal) members of the forum can agree on.

This is fine with me if you can find a way to do this. Feel free to start a new thread, poll, keep talking about it, or whatever you have in mind.
Edit: Tarrick started a new thread for this here. (http://intjforum.com/YaBB.pl?num=1191026067)
