I am not sure what to believe, but I took a religion quiz here: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
and every time I take it every couple of months my results change. This time the religion that most represents my beliefs is Theravada Buddhism, although there are a few things about it that I don't believe, obviously. These are the rest of the top 10:
2. Mahayana Buddhism (90%)
3. Unitarian Universalism (89%)
4. Liberal Quakers (85%)
5. New Age (85%)
6. Neo-Pagan (78%)
7. Secular Humanism (78%)
8. Jainism (75%)
9. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (74%)
10. Nontheist (60%)
I don't think it really helped my confusion too much, but I think I may look into Buddhism and meditation.

Interesting Quiz. Here are my results. I am not religious, but I am better versed in religious texts than most westerners. I have always found myself agreeing philosophically with taoism. Reading the Tao Te Ching, it seemed only to show me the ideas I had already come up with using my own intuition, without the guidance of any religion.

Karma next. I do think something happens after death, but not heaven or hell. With karma, a rapist will be punished during his lifetime, not after.

Its not that I reject 'god', its that the chance that a 'god/gods/goddess/goddesses' being a true thing is highly unlikely, and within that unlikelyness theres another huge unlikelyness that the religions we ahve created are anywhere near the truth.

It's generally accurate, but the "conservative" part has to do with my politics, not my theology. I think there should be a clearer distinction (although many conservative Christians see no difference between their religion and politics, and let the former determine the latter).

I have the same opinion of most of my lower half of the list. (I didn't bother to include any past the top ten, but apparently my lowest score of all was a 29% for Unitarian Universalism, whatever that is.)

Hmm, for me the outcome doesn't really resemble what I would expect. I consider myself atheist (or nontheist as it is summarized here), and I think to have answered all questions about believe with the answers that deny any superior power. So I understand that humanism is high, but why is nontheist only a little bit above Liberal Christian Protestants? Weird...

Wow, I thought my beliefs were so different it almost couldn't be considered any particular type of Christian anymore. But that hits it pretty much on the head.
Only difference is that my beliefs are so loose that I can understand the possibility and quite high probability of other (monotheistic) religions being at least partially right, and even some polytheistic ones.

Raised Roman Catholic. Started attending UU services in January and feel very at home. Wife is Lutheran and enjoys the challenges and intellectual stimulation of the faith. We've found a new home.

There was no option for what I really am, which I suppose is tough to describe. I belong to a nominally Orthodox Jewish synagogue but I only attend three days a year, as do most of the other members. I had a religious Jewish education but most of my fellow students were pretty secular. I'm basically an atheist, except that I observe a lot of the Jewish customs and traditions. I guess I'm Jewish as far as culture and nationality go, and I identify strongly with my Jewishness. But when it comes down to actual religion or belief, I don't buy in. A contradiction, to be sure, but one that I'm comfortable with.
Anyway, I don't much like labels.

Theravada Buddhism is a very INTJ-esque religion, which is why I am not the least bit surprised to see that many of you have it in your top 5-10 religions (after various forms of nontheism, of course). I have also seen polls of the Myers-Briggs types in Theravada Buddhist, and there was a disproportionately large amount of Theravadins.
Woot.

Hrm. I am an atheist, but even moreso an anti-religionist: my strongest belief about religion is that even if there were gods, organized religion would still be a terrible idea. The standard joke about Unitarians is that they "pray to whom it may concern;" it bothers me that they pray at all. My own opinion is best expressed by Bertrand Russell, who wrote, "the concept of worship is derived from oriental despotisms, and wholly unworthy of free men." I therefore wonder what I did wrong in order to get nontheist so low, and liberal xtianity so frighteningly high! Neo-Pagan bothers me less, as would Hinduism (only 28% for me, in slot #21), because I consider a world created by a squabbling committee with very human flaws to be vastly more consistent with the world as it exists.

... and changing every day! I found it hard to answer most of the questions because I prefer to reserve judgment rather than say I believe something in nearly every case.

Well, it seems pretty accurate. I don't really believe in any god, but I do believe there is some sort of afterlife. Not heaven and hell, but a continuation of consciousness.

Part of what I enjoyed about this just-for-fun test is that my actual, on the books religion--for an ego-slice of mine who wanted to be Catholic since I was eight--is that Roman Catholic came in so far at the bottom.
I was, as a child, a born-Again (Protestant) Christian; then later an agnostic; tried still later to be a atheistic but I was afraid God would strike me dead; went to U.U. meetings--that's what they're like, so talking-head and dry and fake-open, that I wanted to smack some of the U.Us into reaction if not action. Still, I would think a lot of those who test themselves as INTJs would also test themselves as UUs, so if I'd come out looking like that, I would not have been 'too' surprised, but would have braced myself for that whack upside the head.
I was a Hindu just before become Catholic--Rome enters into it 'on paper' but the Pope? Fuck him: would that be too harsh a thing to write.... when it comes to his position on so much he is clueless about 'for real'?!?!
Also, first choice at 100% is Maya-Buddhism and as I took my vows as a Buddhist in 2000-2001 with Thich Nhat Hanh, so I won't say I don't believe and try to live a lot of MB--it simply was not practical for being a social creature in the United States 'and' actually, far as I could make out, realistically practicing this kind of philosophy-religion in America. My fellow Buddhists were posers, really into ringing gongs and wearing certain articles of clothing and jewelry with OM symbols, and having neat meditation cushions and then talking very quietly about 'mindfully doing the dishes.'
I would sit there, and elsewhere, thinking (and did actually share, respectfully and 'quietly') about mindfully being with my rage; mindfully being with physical pain', and telling a newcomer that 'mindfulness' was much harder, and for me, about the hard stuff, not about 'mindfully sniffing a bowl of soup.'
I quit the American meditation class 'yet again', along with Gromit, shortly after because I just couldn't stomach this merchandising, cheapening of what it means to attempt real growth.
How perfectly imperfect of me.
