I used to collect sports cards; I have a huge collection. Now, like Storm, I play tennis all the time. I can't get enough of it. I wish I would have been in to it in high school, but I just started playing last May. I also enjoy baseball.

Cruel! :(

I like to go for walks. I would jog to look busy or something, but I'm asthmatic and would keel over and die after ten minutes.
I want to play chess more, but I can't decide who I'm going to coerce into playing a strategy game with me.. And I don't like to play online.
Uhmm. I draw! And write a bit.
*thinks* (which should be a hobby)
I like piano as well, but I'm discouraged these days.

Gah...

Tennis, Racquetball, painting, drawing, languages, airsoft/mil. recreation, violin, guitar, cooking(too many allergies in my house though), yugioh, some 360 games, chess, history and gun ranges. Pretty much anything I get my hands on I perfect into a hobby.

I also play this really dumb game where I have to keep a nerf ball in the air while alternating hands and palm/backhand.

airsoft/mil recreation

Daydreaming was the top hobby. In an effort to participate in the real world, I am interested in the following: photography, tennis, chess, jogging, electronics, and web surfing. Possibly programming and gaming in the near future...

Playing instruments and a little bit of gaming. I don't think there's really anything else that would count as a hobby of mine ATM, if (online) reading doesn't count. I'm going to try to get around to teaching myself to paint and sculpt in the near future since I showed some potential as a kid.

Storm, this is true, I never thought about it before. I played in high school, and miss it now.

I modify cars, read, read, exercise (run, bike), spend time each week with a few close friends. Collect coins, go for drives and walks to scenic places. Coffee, wine, hoppy beer.

im seeing very few gamers and car modders haha...
I'm semi into gaming (but very addicted at times), due to me playing electronic games since I was 3 yrs old (It was the time snes got popular).
Aside from tons of time I spend on my computer reading stuff, my hobbies are gaming, bit of instrument playing, modifying cars/motorcycle, day dreaming while listening to music (more like intense thinking).

thx to whoever relocated this thread !

I don't have any hobbies, as such. Not like people who collect stamps and stand by railway lines writing down train numbers. I play the guitar occasionally but the second and third frets are worn, so the guitar makes a horrible noise when I play. It wasn't that good before the frets got worn, to be honest. I watch good quality films and television but I don't waste my time on rubbish. I like cooking and am pretty good at it. I am obsessed with the European Union and the way it is taking over the countries of Europe (I hate it deeply - the EU, not Europe. I love Europe). These are things I enjoy or spend time on but I wouldn't call them hobbies.

Oh, and I like coming on here. Oh, yes. I play darts for a local team. I forgot about that. I'm playing tonight, actually. First game of the new season tonight. We were beaten to the top position by one point last season. Very upsetting. I should be practising but I can't be bothered.

Working, pondering, thinking, thinking and pondering about working, working while pondering about thinking. Thinking about working on pondering. But you get the point.

I read so much that it can't be considered a hobby so much as a compulsion.

Fly fishing...mainly freshwater for trout/salmon.
I also tie my own flies and have made a few flyrods.

Re-afforestation - We have a small property which was cleared of trees. Over the last 15 years I have planted around 10,000 trees and shrubs. This keeps me pretty busy. Some of the trees are now around 15 to 20 metres tall (50 to 60 feet).

Other than these, reading and travelling.

that sounds really fun.

Hobby hmm... does jogging count? I have houseplants... collect coins... read books?

Most important for me is practicing my spiritual stuff.. undoing personal karma, things like that. Yep I'm strange.

For me the best hobby of all would just be laying outside in a warm place away from people reading and relaxing.

Water gardening … which provided a funny story today …

I was cleaning debris out of the pond this sunny afternoon because the toads are starting to mate. I noticed this one pair where the female was large, bloated, immobile, limbs splayed out, ghostly pale in color, and listing in a very odd neutrally buoyant pose (a number of you are forming snarky rejoinders, but hold on). Because this is exactly what a dead amphibian looks like after sitting at the bottom of the pond at the end of winter, I thought to myself that the male toad had made a really unfortunate hook up. I fished the pair out of the pond with the skimmer and deposited them in the far corner of the yard only to discover that there were two males on the carcass – maybe the first observed case in the wild of a necrophilic toad ménage a trois.

About an hour later as I’m sitting at the pond enjoying the sun the female toad clambers over a rock with one guy on her back and drops into the water. Toads usually avoid people, but these two floated up to the surface, paddled toward me and gave me the evilest look you can imagine. I think they would have flipped me off except for the fact that with only four fingers there’s really no unambiguous middle digit.

Let's see:

guitar, videogames (I dunno if that counts), reading, writing, making models, building puzzles, squash, tennis, solving various things, modding computers, building computers, browsing the Internet, various forums.

I'm sure many people have many more, but that's all I could think of.

Reading isn't my hobby, it's my way of life... so I'm not including that.

I make jewellery, mostly as a hobby because I enjoy the intricacy of the work and the pleasure of making something beautiful...and as a way of having nice personal gifts to give to people... but am thinking of opening a little internet shop and seeing if anything sells, it will still be a hobby though, not really looking to make money from it, maybe just enough to cover supplies.

I've also turned into a crazy fish person. I got my boyfriend an aquarium for Chanukkah and we've since both turned obsessed. He keeps talking (and I'm fairly certain that he's serious) about getting a bigger apartment so he can get another aquarium. His is only 10 gallons and he's frantically trying to figure out just where in his apartment he could place a 20 gallon aquarium he desperately wants to trade up for. We even play "fantasy aquarium building" when we're bored.

This was a real eye opener for me, wow. Tennis? I LOVE tennis. Although I haven't played for quite a while, I don't know anyone that plays. And I'd rather not play at all than play with a beginner...lol. I also enjoyed downhill skiing but don't get to do that much either.

As for now, I like crafts (mainly making jewelry with resin), and survival-horror video games. I like Japanese horror movies (not US remakes, but the real ones). I LOVE thrift stores, rummage sales, and antiques.
