With reference to the topic, the event is scheduled for the 19th at 3pm. I'm extremely nervous and coupled with a major lack of sleep, it's not really going down well. Halp :(

Well, I can't be of any real help, since I don't know what a ccnp is, but I can give you some advice that applies to any test. Being nervous is inevitable, but try to reduce it. Put on soothing music and try to clear your mind. I'd also recommend you get a good night's sleep on at least the night before the test. Even if you know the material like the back of your hand, being sleep deprived will nuke your ability to think clearly(at least it has this effect on me). You don't want to be a sleep-deprived basket case when you take any test. It can really hurt you even if you know the material well.

That said, good luck, I hope you do well on it.

I'm just trying to make sure I can clear the exam with a score of 790/1000. That's the passing grade. nomnom, more work!

Good stuff Doc. I'm working on similar interests in my free time. Are you dumping or not?

gestalt, I would never touch a brain dump. All that I know is gotten through alot of studying and labs. I don't see a point in dumping for my cisco paper, go to a job and fail outstandingly at it. A very good example would be how Pakistan decided to advertise youtube's subnet through their BGP advertisements. That would certainly be the last thing you'd want to be known for. ;p

I totally agree. These third-world countries are renowned for their BGP screwyness. Rock on brother.

gestalt, do you do networking as well?

Not sure what CCNP is but I have done CCNA1. The exam wasn't that hard since you were given a bunch of options for each question (radio buttons on an online test). Even when you didn't know the answer you could use exclusion and find one that was the most reasonable.
You have my sympathies for just having read the material. The language was a real pain I recall.

For those geeks who like geek war stories (yeah, me too), here's a story written by Stranded Wind (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) about the AS47868 mess last month.

Good luck. I dated a woman who was on the networking team for Cisco Systems itself and she flunked it.

Yeah Doc, I am. Not totally in the field yet but I'm working on breaking through. Have worn a lot of hats (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. This is what I was talking about with the 3rd world country bit. Quite informative (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) if you can slog through it.

Kisai, it's really alot of studying, practical and effort going into obtaining that stupid cert :P but it's all done to challenge myself

I downloaded and viewed both the CBTNuggets and Train Signal material at one point but then felt too guilty so I deleted it. Would rather pay for my training from here on out. You may find the Dynamips and GNS3 projects interesting Doc. It lets you virtualize REAL cisco images. You'll need access to the cisco flash images somehow, hopefully legally.

I have BSCI section of the CCNP done and working on the other three, time/money this Summer permitting.

Oh sigh, I failed the exam due to a glitch and I had to skip an entire simulator. Rescheduled for next thursday!
