I haven't travelled as much as some people I know but do have a "thing" for a few countries and hope to get to them one day and thought you might have some good insights....

In no order.

- Estonia, I like it due to its mix of old East and new West. Never been there.
- Portugal, met a girl from there once, been fascinated by it/her since.
- Poland, a friend backpacked there and is going back, I plan to go with him.
- Iceland, so far away, looks beautiful.
- Thialand/Taiwan, had a holiday in Thailand and won't forget it. Exciting, casual and cheap. I loved it. I worked in Taiwan for a stint and will go back no doubt, its so different from my home town in Australia.

So what countries do you like?

I live in Italy and I'd definitely recommend it as a place to visit.

I've always wanted to go to/live in :

Iceland
Germany
Australia
Norway
England
Russia
Turkey
New Zealand...

I'd like to move someplace that the sun doesn't rise for half the year...live 2 or 3 years. On the ocean. If it weren't for the ridiculous language and non-appetizing food... Iceland would be perfect.

Side note: I have many NT friends and they are all enamored with Poland for some reason.

I take the plane to London and Copenhagen quite often to relax there. Sweden is ok too. Norway is cold. But the aurora light is beautifull.

I always wanted to visit Ireland, Japan and Australia. Ireland for its people, Japan for its culture and Australia for its animals.

for Caramel...expurgated a lil since I posted that poem on an 'adult' site...entitled The Natural Life, in reference to living in Australia

I invited to this idyll,
This natural free life,
To the creatures and the denizens,
Away from human strife.

When the five inch centipede
Bit me on the inner thigh,
Did he crave to take it's place?
No, he cringed and shuddered. Why?

When the twelve foot python launched itself,
And fastened on my arm,
Did he want to writhe on me instead?
No - I began to lose my charm.

Describing how the feral cat,
Predated on my pussy (feline),
Gushing gouts of blood when shot,
He lost the will to dine.

Crocodiles can only run 17 k per hour,
Faster far are cassowaries, minus lethal tail,
Flies and ticks and platypi, friendly critters all,
Mosquitoes want to share their blood, but only the female.

So the irukanji jellyfish, the stonefish and blue octupi,
Can fibrillate or ennervate your heart,
The extremities start tingling and you make to salivate,
I'm just another creature with love's dart.

The clacking swarm of glossy ants, the green ones martial stance,
Minute ruddy fire types, with mandibles and lance,
All welcome him in warm embrace, drive off any chill,
Heighten nerves and swell the parts, that bring to me a thrill.

We wanted him to link with us,
But we won't see him again,
He's terrified of integrating,
In our elegant food-chain.

For some reason I always wanted to go to Madagascar.

Hah, I was always proud to know where it was as kid but knew little of it and I forgot all about it. I think its definately going onto my list.... I think they have Sloths or maybe some other funky animals?? I am missing something in the Americas so thank you! I was actually considering Brazil but from the stories I've heard it has a nasty side which seems to effect all visitors I know :(

I've only gone to Canada.

Although I would like to go to Japan the most (Anime Freak here), China (load up on cheap stuff and mail it back home) New Zealand (It looks so beautiful and relaxing in pictures) and Jamaica.

I forgot about Italy. I love Italian Food so Italy too. Maybe Greece. There are so many countries I would like to visit. If I listed them all, I'd be editing all night.

I secretly love America and I will explain. While America might not be so great now it did tell get rid of the Kind of England which is always a positive thing. America was founded with the idea of freedom, and I love freedom so it makes sense.

Somalia has no government is some sections so I daydream about it often.

I am fascinated with Japan. I am in awe of their orderliness and cultural dichotomy (so steep in rituals, yet so modern!).

England (love the moody weather and British accent)
France, Paris (darnit! I am going to have that pic of me in front of the Eiffel Tower)
New Zealand (blame Bollywood)

I've always wanted to go to:
Peru
Italy
Greece
Germany

I spent some time living/studying in Spain and Argentina. Argentina is (for the moment)my favorite place in the world. The natural beauty that Argentina has is incredible...there's beaches, gigantic waterfalls, mountains, deserts, glaciers, great skiing, etc. It has it all! Not to mention Buenos Aires is an incredible city. It's so sophisticated and full of life and culture.

I live in Scotland now. Have previously lived in Canada, Pakistan and Oman. But I would really like to live in the US. I love the very basis of US i.e., freedom (don't know if its actually practiced there or not...) and the bill of rights.

I'd have to put Russia as my first choice for a trip. My family is from the southwest region and the surrounding countries (Ukraine, Poland, Hungary), and I've always just been fascinated by its culture and history. Russia has a very unique blend of east and west.

I'm pretty happy with my home here in the US and probably would not want to live elsewhere permanently, but I would like to see more of it, live near some mountains, and see a little more of the world (I've never left the country).

I'd like to visit Scotland, Mexico, and Spain. I'd be willing to go just about anywhere, as long as it's reasonably safe and cheap, assuming that I had the opportunity to go there. It's not a country obviously, but I wouldn't mind living on a boat in the ocean for a while, if that were feasible.

I also really like deserts, but the only ones I've actually been in are in the southwestern US-- Death Valley and the Mojave and such. Deserts kick so much ass. If I were an ecosystem, I would so be a desert.

Ive been to most every state in the US. I like the natural landscape and the scenery a lot. The cities I dont care for particurally. Heavy traffic and pissed off people who work too hard. I actually love the outdoors here in louisiana. So green and lush with water everyhwere. Downside? full of mosquitos, snakes, mud etc... I spent a lot of my youth playing in the outdoors and often the woods (Deet, mud boots, and a sharp stick FTW)

Japan and Greece are on the top of my "must visit" list. I did like england but all of the cameras etc... put a very sour taste in my mouth. Id like to be the only one video taping my vacation, and I really wouldnt care for a speed camera zapping me. Im used to driving atleast 10-15mph over :(

I've been to Estonia, Italy, Russia, England.

Love to go to south of New Zealand for nature, love to live in Nunavut for a while (self-governing, but still in Canada), love to see Ireland and Scotland for heritage reasons.

Get to go to Poland for a conference in September. Looking forward to it!

in no particular order:

my own country (Germany)

the US (due to my mother being from there I have a passport to the USA as well and have been wondering for some years if I mightn`t want to move and live there - I always enjoy my vactions whenever I`m there)

Peru (I`ve never been there, but I`d love to see Macchu Pichu - I have a poster of it hanging on the wall behind my desk)

New Zealand (beautiful green landscapes, mountains and comparatively few people = my idea of paradise; I`ve never been there, though)

Iceland (never been there, I don`t know if I`d want to live there but I`d love to see the northern lights)

India (beautiful as well, never been there either)
