Was anyone else nervous about whether or not zeppelin would live up to old standards with their recent concert? Apparently everything went splendidly, I can't wait to see the videos (surely this was recorded professionally...)

It is also important to note that Zeppelin left the building wiithout making any reference to their future together, if there is one — no “See you next year!” or “Until next time . . .” The only message they left behind was, “We were the best — and still are.”

I didn't know about the concert in the first place - but I do like Led Zeppelin and thanks for the link.

But to answer your question - No, I wasn't nervous. haha.

hehe, maybe "nervous" isn't quite the right word, but I didn't want them to have one final concert, and it be a disaster :)

But yeah, they had a lottery to see who could get one of 20,000 tickets, and over a 1,000,000 people signed up, crashed the website, etc. I guess you're just out of the loop! :P

They're my favorite band, and I hoped the concert went well enough to convince them to World Tour so I can see them.

YouTube already has a video of Stairway. It's not great, but it isn't terrible either. From what I saw, I'd still pay a lot of $ to see them play someday.

Did they really say "We're the best"? or was that the "statement" they made with their music? Metaphor.

I think it's funny...Page has grey hair and he's always dyed it black except for this concert. He's 63 now. Yowzer.

They should have toured back in 1998 when Jimmy played with Puffy on SNL. And to think I thought he was old then!? lol.

Yeah, that "statement" was metaphor.

Also, I saw a blurb on the front page of a newspaper, something about some guy buying a pair of tickets to this concert for 180,000$ !!! Ridiculous, haha.

They're probably my favorite band too. Like I said, I wasn't sure how well they'd do. Their last full concert was like 30 years ago, so... Not to mention, I have their DVD, and it's insane how much they aged in just the 10 years chronicled on that DVD (late 60's to late 70's). They almost looked totally different, as if they'd aged 25 years instead of just 10.

I typically dislike concerts, too loud, too many people, etc, but I think Zeppelin is one band I'd made an exception for. Their music is even better live. Ooh, the chills I got when I heard the immigrant song on "how the west was won" for the first time :)

I'd pay good money to see them. Maybe a 2-week paycheck for 2 tickets.

I just think everybody should have the chance to see their favorite band live at least once. I'm hoping Zeppelin realizes this, and gives us an opportunity. I hate to say "they owe it to us", because they are artists, and it just doesn't sound right, but I hope they do understand how many young folks dig their music. I'm 28, and there are people much younger than me who adore their music. I hope they realize how much we'd appreciate it to see them live at least once.

It's not like the Stones, who've been leaching off the same baby-boomers for 30 years now. Zeppelin actually has new fans.

I feel damn lucky that John had Jason, and taht Jason is capable of standing in. If not for Jason, they probably don't even do last night's concert. It's almost too perfect.
