What is Ni to you?

As a primary function what does it mean to have Ni over say Fi and Ti and how can you tell if its your primary?

Personally my INTJ usually tests with percentages as 65 80+ 75+ 55 so I'm a typical NT type but have found that (upon introspection) Fi and Ti can sometimes play just as much a role as Ni...why? I'm not sure I actually understand Ni completely yet. Plus where does Ni stop and Ti begin?

I see Jung books have a lot written about "the mystical dreamer" as the Ni type but see no concrete parallel between it and the INTJ description which I can identify with, easily.

So yes, what does having a primary Ni function mean to you?

To me, it means that I get to build my own world. I say "Reality, screw you! I can do better!", and then it happen. It's my way to understand things, create, and regain my energy.

And if you're forced to explain your thoughts, feelings or reasons you get accused of being delusional or difficult?

To me Ni (as a dominant function) are two letters used to say that I am independent and imaginative, whilst perhaps not always being fully able to explain the way I think or work. I'm afraid there's not that much more to it.

In a way, I do the samething, like Paul V mentioned, "Reality, screw you! I can do better!" While, your coming with some really neat ideas, then someone has to turned it around and say its crap. Yeah, INTJ ego went down the drain, but the N side kicks in. It says, "Screw this, if someone does not appreciate what I got to offer, well screw them too; if they fail, then don't blame me because I told you so."

I'm just looking for some examples of how to determine the difference between Ni and Ti as a thought process, it seems a tad gray which probably just means I'm fairly balanced and should just drop it, either that or stick with Socionics. But unfortunately I have this other annoying personality trait where I can't drop something that interests me until its been proven right or wrong :(

I do work with INTPs though and if I compare myself to them I am different but I can't put my finger on why... is it that Ni's are able to entertain any plausible thought (within their system) to solve problems? Where a Ti might only use what he knows to be correct or true? :wreck:

Apparently I fluctuate between J and P a lot. I notice that depending on where I am. However, in my natural state, I am an INTP.

Yes. People usually say that I always choose the hard way to do anything. And that I have the weirdest ideas they've heard. But they usually work. Thank you Te!
