animated avatars

I would like to know if any other members find animated avatars distracting when they read posts.

Personally, my eyes move toward anything moving on the page so I find it difficult to read any posts when there are moving images on the page, especially if they are moving fast. I can deal with this if I'm the only one, but I want to know if there is anyone else.

Cielo market, this thread was not inspired by you. Your avatar falls just under the threshold for what I find "highly distracting". I had to adblock someone else's just so I could read their posts though.

I find the flashy mario one, very distracting; lost in space after viewing it. But, I've seen more really nice anime subtitle avatars, just make you want to stare a long time in a positive way. Makes you wonder, how much time people designed it.

I'm not very visually oriented so it wouldn't bother me too much. Although I would find those flashy ones a bit distracting. The one with the DJ kitten is actually kinda fun too watch without being too distracting (must be the colors).
