I decided it had been too long (i.e. several hours) since I had made an admission that lesser souls might regard as "embarrassing."

I'm listing to "Once Upon A December," from the movie Anastasia. Next I'll probably listen to The Bells of Notre Dame. I like them, as well as several other Disney songs. I even sing along to some =p

Who else voluntarily listens to music from Disney movies?

The poll is anonymous. ;)

Ummm.. I listen to "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" from Cinderella...

and.. and... "Kiss The Girl" from The Little Mermaid...

Yes, I unashamedly say I love the songs in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. My favourite is Hellfire.

Does Disney music include High School Musical and Hannah Montana as well?

Lilo and Stitch has one of the best soundtracks and songs I've ever heard.

If you like. I was specifically thinking of their animated films, but "whatevs."

Rudy...

I feel inclined at this point to chime in. I joined the forum at around the same time as you. My post count is somewhere around 240; on the other hand, I expect you to pass Nikita's count before she actually goes to Central Asia. Yes, before.

I now know why this disparity has occurred. Either this is the stupidest, most lame attempt to start a thread and jack your post count up, or you're a freaking genius. I think, having seen some of your other opinions, it is probably the latter. I'm somewhat in awe of you, considering you've actually made me vote in a poll about favourite Disney music. Beautiful. One day, when I have A LOT of time on my hands, I will go though and see the titles to all of the threads you have started. I'm almost half-expecting titles like "Left or Right hand - which hand does your friend use in mutual masterbation," and "Which letter would you ban from the alphabet?"

There's my rant...

By the way, I voted No, although my daughter can't stop singing "tinkerbell" and "twinkle twinkle little star."

That's very kind of you, but I'm afraid I'd have to approximately triple my current post rate to accomplish that goal. You'll have to remember that Nikita herself is still posting, at a rate that surpasses everyone but myself.

If I were *just* interested in post count, I would still be posting in the Word Association thread (which has zero function except to serve as a post booster.) I actually get quite a kick out of discussing things, no matter how random the topic.

Thanks for the flattering thoughts. =D

Don't worry, Kym. You're still better than those that don't listen at all ;)

I know you have it in you. That being said, I think they have internet in the stoop bathroom stalls in Central Uzbekistan, so maybe Nikita can keep her reign a little while longer.

I'll pass Nikita in July, and we'll both be at around 16,000 posts. That's my best prediction, anyway =D

I admit I have to the song "Out There" from Hunchback of Notre Dame and that's it. For some reason that song's catchy.

Okay, technically not a Disney movie but Anastasia has the BEST soundtrack.

Yea, some other company produced it, hence its 'darker' tendencies. Probably why it accounts for being my top animation movie along with the Iron Giant. I always liked Mulan's "I'll Make a Man Out of You" too.

Mary Poppins FTW. I also cry when I watch Dumbo and hear the mom sing "Baby Mine" to Dumbo. (yes, ENTJs cry) My little cousin killed everything in The Little Mermaid for me when we were children, crazy little INFJ, I love her anyway.

No.

My girlfriend does, though. As well as her mother and sister. Also: anything else one might sing along to. Makes my sunday afternoons an interesting melange of pleasure and pain.

Sure, you do. And all those times you listen when they aren't around, you're just "practicing" for when they are, right?

Before I stopped using Limewire I compiled two CDs worth of Disney music that I enjoy listening to. And yes, I sing along. Why not? I sing all the other songs I like.

Anyways, it's not a Disney movie but I also really enjoy the soundtrack to Labyrinth. David Bowie and muppets? Yes sir.

Oh, yes. In high school, my best friend and I serenaded each other on power walks (she'd walk me home every day and then take the bus from there) and over the phone late into the night. She was Aladdin; I was Jasmine. She was Simba; I was Zazu. She was Scar -- I loved it.

Some of the lyrics from Beauty and the Beast were brilliant, especially in the bar song. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to listen to them, but my little brothers see the movie again and again, so I do so involuntarily.

Woah..what?! Me? Listening and practicing? Prffft.

*Stops dancing and singing. Scrambling to turn off Once Upon a Dream and stuffing away the broomstick and hat*

Hahaha. You're too funny! Sorry bud. Don't know what you're talking about. *Whistling and looking sheepishly around*

The rest of you merely plot and scheme to take over the world. I, on the other hand, have already infiltrated public consciousness with the aid of the Disney Corporation.

While I do not listen to it on a regular basis (only once in a very long while on via youtube), I've always kind of liked the "Be Prepared" song from The Lion King.

No, and singing along to music from High School Musical should be punishable by death. I hate the frisky lyrics sung by those delusional pop-smart assholes. The song called "Stick To The Status Quo", which is from the 2nd. of those horrible movies, is a perfect example of why I hate them so much.

Disney should stick to animated cartoons because the live-action stuff that they produce is horrible.

P.S. This (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)

Nah, I'm only 17 so I'm still a "boy". :) But I am angry. I am because of my age many times around people who love the movies, talk about how hot the actors are/how great the songs are and occassionally sing the songs - sometimes even performing the cheesy cheography. I can't stand it. I luckily attend a school where such types are very rare.

Ah, I remember that. I was fortunate to attend a "gifted" school, but there was still some of it going around. Best to just tune it out.

The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack is etched firmly upon my mind. Whether I sing it however is down to interpretation. I sing it in my head with great zeal, but as my singing is almost completely without tone I avoid voicing that enthusiasm. I would much rather rely on the dulcet tones of Danny Elfman.

I've been singing "Undah Dah Sea" (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)since I heard it, for a decade at least. "Hakuna Matata" sneaks its way in every now and again too.

The only Disney song I like is the one sung by Manson for The Nightmare Before Christmas (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.). I think I use to like a few of the others as a kid, now they just annoy me, even Scar's song(s) from The Lion King.

I didn't know who made it off the top of my head, but I knew instantly when you said 'too dark for Disney" that it was one of Don Bluth's films. he did all the films that are darker and often better than the happy-ending Disney movies.

Such (awesome) titles include The Secret of NIMH, The Land Before Time, Anastasia, A Troll in Central Park, An American Tail, and All Dogs go to Heaven.

Last one's for you Monte.

I'm with you Rudy, Disney music is great, I'm not very familar with the stuff today which originate from any one of Disney's subsidiaries (lol).

My all time favourite has to be A Whole New World with Brad Kane and Lea Salonga. I used to sing that in the shower everyday to practice my vocal range.

Then Kiss the Girl sung by Sebastian the crab and friends haha

Then Go the Distance by Bolton

All the other disney songs are great too, it's nice to have some music which are brilliant in their simplicity and beauty.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that all the other Disney songs are great, as I can think of some real stinkers. I agree with you in general, however. :)
