After spending so much time on normal forums where the majority of the posts are 3 sentences long I'm having trouble getting used to making long posts again. I remember one debate topic I started. The title was "Compassion vs. Reality." I went into a long explanation of what I was talking about. The first person to post had the following response: "Man, that was a really long post. I didn't read it because it was so long, but I'm gonna go with reality." Of course, he misspelled every other word, but you get the idea. So, my posts maybe a little short for awhile.

Don't sweat it man, where I come from (Stickpage forums) everyone was very much the same, and still are. I was a moderator for a long time there actually which was nightmarish to say the least. Nevertheless my posts were always significantly longer than everyone else so this is a great change for me as well, though it won't/doesn't take much adjustment.
With the advent of Firefox and it's automatic spell checking, it's a wonder how anyone can spell more than a single word wrong in any post anywhere. Even then, it's just negligence really...
To the point, I don't think anyone is going to criticize you for the length of your posts so much as the content itself. If you have legitimate people won't care how long it is. At least that's how it should be in my opinion, but who am I?

It's not the size of your post that matters... what's important is whether or not you're able to get your point across. Some people write lengthy posts, ramble on about details that don't matter, and still can't get their point across. I'm definetely not adverse to reading long, well written posts, but I have to admit that I get impatient with too much rambling. Some people can express themselves eloquently in fewer words, and I think that's great too.
If you're talking about threads full of nothing but pointless one liners, emoticons and "tldr" comments everytime someone writes more than that, hopefully we won't get many of those here.

Agreed.
I'd say that writing things longer usually allows space for others to understand and benefit of doubt, while concise answers are more powerful and direct. Both somewhat work, but it's up to your style and rhetorical capability.

That's good because I tend to express myself in few words unless I'm explaining something.
