In mathematics and reading only.

Mine was 1460.
I took it twice with no prep.

I'm not American so I can't really join in.

So, is 1460 good? I'm presuming you want to show it off. ;)

My highest of 2 tries was 1280, a constant source of shame until I realized that I didn't care. It's funny though, because I'm an excellent test taker.

That's a lie, I totally care. I figured I wasn't as smart as I thought if I didn't get 1350+.

Scored an 1,100 (650 Verbal, 450 Math IIRC) after about 2 weeks of studying. It's funny because I'm usually half/half in regards to tests... I either do really well (85+) or completely bomb them (60 or below).

I find that I end up studying too much material and learning stuff that is irrelevant to the test and hurt myself as a result.

I got a 32 on the ACT, I think that's about a 1400-1450?

I dunno, I thought it was a silly test.

I got a 1340 (Reading 720, Math 620), and a 770 on the Writing, making the final score a 2110, but no one cares about Writing b/c it's new.

I was pretty pissed with a 1340. But oh well. I took it three times, and each time I did worse on every section. That did not make matters any better...

That and I just read something saying that INTJ's have really high IQ's.

No, ACT is a different test. I'm pretty sure it's what you take to ensure that you graduate. SAT is to get into college.

A 1210, I hate the SAT, I kept losing track of time in all the test. But i made up for it in my AP exams. 5's in the AB and BC calculus even with the time complications I always get. I start doing a problem and even though I know I should be moving on I get stubborn and try to solve everything. If I am not sure I ponder to see what may be wrong, in all I hate timed test.

I got a 1290 on the SAT... I don't remember the scores for each section, except that my math score was much lower than the other one. (sidenote, I couldn't remember the name of the other section so I pulled up wikipedia to look it up and there appear to be 3 sections to the test...I seem to remember there being only 2 sections...is it a new thing that they've split up the reading & writing? I thought those two were lumped together into one category.)

ACT is an alternative to the SAT: To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Standardized tests and I go hand in hand, but I question how we interpret the results. It does indeed have certain built-in biases. Plus you can greatly improve your score simply by learning the logic behind the test without actually studying the material.

I too got a 1460 cold turkey (as in I didn't study), first try. I took it when it was out of 1600. Ultimately, no effect on my life thus far :)

If you're interested, why don't you make a poll?

ACT has nothing to do with graduating high school.

SAT is also not a prerequisite for college.

I got 1160 on mine in Jr. year. 660 math, 500 verbal. I was disappointed because I could have sworn I got 800 on the Math, as I blew through the questions and knew how to do them all. I really don't know what happened but did not re-take, as I was only gonna go to a local public University.

I think my verbal abilities were retarded back at that age, and if there was a "re-take" at this age I'm pretty sure I would do much, much better as compared to my peers than* I did in High School. If that makes any sense. Words didn't interest me like numbers did back then.

I envy y'all that got 1250+

*modified for grammatical error! lol.

I got a 1360 on my SAT and 33 on ACT. I studied a bit on my own using the big blue book.

I think some places require ACT for graduation but I'm not sure. Most people here don't even take the ACT...

I forget what my exact score was, but I got about a 560 Math, 640 Writing, 780 Verbal. Those probably aren't the exact scores.

I got a 1310 on the SAT without the writing and a 31 on the ACT. I was okay with those scores. I wished I could have done better, but I didn't care enough to retake them. They were good enough to get me scholarships at the school I wanted to go to and that's what mattered the most to me.

Course it's different, but there is an equivalent value. They are both used by colleges, I didn't take the SAT and I got accepted to a lot of major universities with just an ACT score.

I took the ACT because it has a heavier focus on mathematics.

I'm glad I didn't spend time studying or stressing, never ended up going to college.

Got a 1970 taking it two times with prep. My math and verbal are 1350. I really thought I could do better but I think there was some kind of barrier keeping me from getting past the 2000's. The more I talked with my Princeton Review the more I realized how backwards and twisted the SAT questions were. If the SAT had a Counterstrike section, I'd get a 2400 for sure.

1450 old, 2250 new, with 720 for math, 730 english, and 800 on creative writing (unlike a regular INTJ, I'm an amazing bullshit artist).

But it didn't matter a iota, because even though I got an award for highest SAT score in my HS, I still got into a shitty CUNY, because during my senior year I goofed off like crazy, and ended up graduating with a 62.

lol. that is why I took my SAT Junior year and made sure I got accepted to College early in Senior year.

I'm sure you still could have gotten into really good schools with a 1450, no matter what your grades were Sr. year.

I felt ashamed and didn't meet the expectations, as the entire listed above, I bombed the SAT's. When, I took the test, I didn't have enough time to do all the questions (Stereotypical) and I am very happy that many people complained about this. So now its changed to SAT II, but its great to know I am not alone with this one.

Yeah, but my problem is that I tend to do things late. And I took my SAT Sophomore year, but still... I screwed up on applying to places, so actually, if I hadn't applied to a whole bunch of good schools, I would've gotten in somewhere average.

On the other hand, since I go to a city college, my average is now at a 3.2 and going to go up this semester, so in a way that's better- with a higher average, I'll be able to get into a better grad school.

I once intended to go to some university in the USA and took the SAT to see if it was worth the bother to apply. Thanks to the superior education in my country, 2320 out of 2400. Lost focus on the English part, so that dropped the score, but then again, it isn't my first language.

I don't really remember but I think it was 2300 or around so? 800 on math, 760 each on verbal or something...

ACT... I think I had a 35. I was more focused on the AP's.... took 17 or so, all 5 except that damn AP euro test. I had a nose bleed on the french revolution paper and most of the essay I wrote was illegible.

1430 on the new version. No prep, and the fact that I didn't care because I was going to a school that didn't care about SAT scores.

610 reading, 550 math, 610 writing.

The kids at school were amazed by my scores (which I found a little funny), while I was trying my best to hide my disappointment.

I guess I did alright for a person attending a trade school.

2130- will most likely take it again to break 2200 and then call it quits (I've taken the stupid test four times, long story)

770 verbal (would like to make an 800)
670 math (it's actually improved)
690 writing

I think I must be getting too old because I didn't even know they changed it from 1600 being the top score...lol. I scored 11-something. I really didn't even care. I didn't study for it and I stayed up late the night before, etc. I just really wasn't focused on it and if I had it to do again, I still wouldn't care enough. If they really wanted to know how smart I was, they'd give me the test at 2pm instead of 8am and they'd give smoke breaks...

670 math, 560 verbal, 610 writing. In my defense, English isn't my native language and my life was a mess at the time. I'm pretty sure if I were to take it again I'd get at least 700 on each section. Hah.

lol. I didn't take it yet, but it seems like a lot of you got good scores... I hope I can cope, but now I'm better off worrying about the SSAT. I'm applying for Andover and Exeter, although I don't want to. I'm good at writing BS too. For some reason, I can make it sound like the topic really mattered to me and that the whole ordeal in the paper changed me a lot.
