I think I am starting to fall for someone who I should not be having thoughts about.
1. She is married
2. She is 31 and I am 24
3. She is an MD, a 5th year resident, and my teacher, I am just a lowly medical student
It all started when she began to treat me like an equal instead of the piece of grime that medical students are to most residents and attendings. I have never met someone who could be smart, funny, very kind, and extremely good looking all in one package. Honestly, she is my ideal match. She is even a radiologist, which I am interested in going into. Now, I am not stupid, I know she has no such feelings for me, and is just being a good human being. Has anyone else had an experience like this? How did you get over it, staying away from her is not an option...This sucks, life can really be a ##$$tease sometimes.

Having had this problem, it's my experience that there is no "make the feelings go away" option. Just stoicism, for the win. Sorry.

married, bad.

I'm pretty sure he is going to steer clear of trouble whether he likes it or not. Although even if she weren't married you'd still be working with her and that's a no no.

I always have a knack to switch off my emotions at will if I want. The emotion is still there subconsciously but it is consciously manageable. It takes some practise. Be ice cold rational. Do some maths in your head. haha.
