This idea came up in my head when I was replying a qwerty's topic "What Drives you?" (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) And I thought I should probably make a new topic before I drive another topic, off topic.

INTJ's are known to enjoy gathering knowledge (useful knowledge). And although history can easily be considered not useful, many INTJ's seem to like history.

Most people who like history enjoy travel. I personally love it.
Which leads me to ask...

Do you guys like travel? And where have you or would you like to travel?

I haven't traveled anywhere unless someone's forced me to. It's only been within Canada, with the exception of visiting the States a couple times to see friends. Oddly enough, I have recently decided I need to go to Sweden o.0

I've had the general plan to try to visit a different place every summer since I first travelled alone. Travelling alone is so amazingly great... actually it makes me wonder how people can travel with other people. It makes everything so cumbersome.

Anyway... Only problem is that I might have gotten myself a summer co-op-ish job. So this summer I'm either going to some place close, or I'm going to save up for the year after ;D

I'd definitely prefer to travel with someone. I get extremely uneasy in crowds when I'm not with someone I know, and cities, even in the untouristy areas still have crowds. It's nice to have someone to talk to about the stuff you are seeing, nice to have someone to eat with, and nice to have another person to be with when in an unfamiliar place.

Places I've been: Southwest, Midwest, and Northeast United States, Amsterdam, Brussels, the UK. Did the UK alone.

When I was a kid, I used to think I wanted to travel and see the world.
I always wanted to go to Hawaii,
but I found out they don't give you a lei anymore when you get off the plane.
Besides, I've gotten more and more practical in my old age.
While I think going to an island with white sand, blue water and palm trees would be nice,
I'm no longer willing to suffer the jet lag to do it.
It'll have to be in the Atlantic Ocean.

For some reason I have become a lot more fearful in the past 20 years.
I guess life has just beat me up too much.
I don't care to go anywhere or do anything.

I don't adjust well to unfamiliar surroundings.

I went to London to meet my sister who was working there at the time. *So I pretty much went to places alone. *I also went to HK for a family visit this summer, and because everyone had work to go to, I travelled alone again.

I know someone who did Europe alone. It looked amazing!

Going alone usually makes it less obvious that you're a traveller when you're going through the streets. *One thing I like to do when travelling is blend right into everything else. *That way, it's more of an experience than just having been. *I usually keep journals when travelling (and go on discrete photo rampages), so I share with my friends through that. *Eating is usually a time I use to reflect and put things together. *Plus, when I'm travelling I usually don't stop to eat and usually grab some good street food (except when there's great fine dining, I'll go to a good dinner).

I guess if you're going to a foriegn country where the language is different gets a bit intimidating. *But I'd still rather learn a bit of the language and go alone... unless the person going with me is an absolutly perfect companion.

I've been to Canada three times and to the UK twice, and that's about it. In the US, I've never been in an area outside the Northeast.

Some places I'd like to visit (in no particular order):
-Ireland
-The Faroe Islands
-Norway
-Russia
-Ukraine
-Australia
-Montana (particulalry Glacier National Park)

I guess the only thing that keeps me from traveling at the moment is (a) lack of money and (b) the thought of dealing with jetlag.

I've lived all over the U.S. and I was stationed in Europe for several years. In my 20's I didn't live anywhere for more than a year or so before I moved. I've finally gotten used to being stable and have to fight that urge to pack up. Recently, I just like to hop a bus to different places in the states.

When I decide to go further again. I'd like to see Asia and South America. I couldn't narrow down anything more specific than that...to hard to decide.
