View Full Version : Men (or Lesbians): Which type of female body are you attracted to?

Please also state your own body type.

I am just interested to see if there is any pattern regarding which male body types are attracted to which female body types.

I'll go first.

I am thick and muscular, big-boned, and I am strongly attracted to the catwoman type. Long, thin legs, and knee-high leather boots are a definite turn-on. Large breasts are a definite turn-off.

I've got a relatively athletic physique (5'10, 170 lbs), medium-light skin, and moderate muscle size.

I don't care about bust size, so much as how it matches their body type. Skinny girls should have smaller breasts, for example. Appropriate size is a turn on. No breasts or too much breast is not attractive.

The hourglass shape usually draws my eye majorly. I also look for natural (note: natural) blonde, or light brown hair, although brown is perfectly fine too. Blue eyes with brown hair is amazing, as is brown eyes with natural blonde hair. Fake blonde hair is a major turn off (it's easy to tell -- if they look northern european in descent, probably natural blonde)

Skinny is a preference, but I also can appreciate slight chub.

I am 5'7, 135lbl, pretty decent shape (benchpress ~140).

Anything that is very tiny, skinny, and proportional/symmetric. Breasts not too important. I personally love nice legs the most in a woman.

I think proportion comes before everything else. But that's just me.
Otherwise, wide hips and an athletic physique are always a turn on.

I guess my ideal is somewhere around there (*points at spoiler*). Curves are great. The anorexic look and obesity/near-obesity will both take the wind out of my sails pretty quick but there's a large range of body types I find attractive. It mainly depends on the individual and how confident she is in her body. I think that's something I pick up on.

And even though there's no nudity I guess I'll preface the pick with a NSFW warning so nobody gets their undies in bunch over it.

I'm 6-1 168 lbs - Athletic and toned - Medium-light boned, but compact.

I'd have to say women who are athletic and toned (not overly muscular though), 5 to 6 feet, average or slender, medium breasts. I tend to go for women who are slightly exotic; this could mean that they are Asian or even on the Irish side, but not always. For some reason though, no matter how pretty a woman is, she wont completely grab my attention unless her personality can match my boisterous spirits and forceful personality.

I've always kind of liked Sophie Marceau:

I'd say the classic hourglass figure is the most physically attractive, and I like girls that are short, rather than tall. Breast size is not terribly significant, but provided the shape is appealing can be a turn on. Other than that, I find an athletic build very attractive, and probably prefer that women be a little more muscular than most guys like. Just when I think I've got an ideal nailed down though, a girl that is nothing like that ideal will catch my eye.

A valid point. I suppose I was really answering the question "What physical type are you most attracted to.

I can be physically attracted to anyone who is a) not extremely muscular, b) not significantly overweight, c) clean, with good hygiene. If a female meets those characteristics, and I am mentally attracted to her (which is the more stringent test), then I can be physically attracted to her.

Yep...Western culture will do that to a guy. I have two female friends who went to Africa to study a particular tribe. One of them is really hot, to my standards, and the other is overweight (she needs to lose a good 50 lbs ok!). When the both of them started interacting with the tribe my overweight friend started getting special attention. All the men in the tribe thought my overweight friend was really hot and thought my attractive friend (who I consider to be attractive) was horribly ugly. I think my overweight friend was proposed to a number of times by the men too.

My body-type right now is medium - 6' 184 lbs, but that's after a lot of neglect and lifestyle experimentation. Naturally, I have more of an American football player's build, strong though the legs, carrying weight and muscle well, and start to look emaciated at 175 pounds or so.

On a woman, I love hips more than anything. I'd prefer the hourglass to the pear, but neither the breasts nor the hips have to be exaggerated. Feminine features, softer. Youth, health cues are important too. Also, taller over shorter, but that's not a strong preference.

Popular media conceptions of attractiveness tend to be narrow, and I wouldn't be surprised if people had wider ranges of variation in their preferences, or ranges shifted towards one end or the other of a spectrum.

short dark hair, blue/green eyes, olive skin

dislike tall ones, and north european redhairs + milk white skin
abhor overweightness

Bodies aren't half as important to me as faces, but I guess proportion tends to help. And I don't like really skinny types. If I had to say something about legs, I'd say that I don't like really long legs. But I don't really care about legs anyways. I have my own legs-- what do I care about legs? :p

Physical appearance? I don't have a lot of preferences here. It is more of a combination of factors.

Age: I am currently physically attracted to a range of about 10 over to 10 under my age.
Height: No preference, but must be proportional.
Weight: normal to slightly over weight for their height.
Hair color: No preference, but color changes must not be major. Highlights are OK.
Hair style: depends, shoulder length to long on most. No braids.
Eye color: No preference, singularly.
Face shape: No preference, but the better the proportions, the better the impression.
Nose: Depends.
Ears: Depends.
Race: No preference, but some types of isolated cultural an sub-racial genetic characteristics are a turn off.
Breast size: No preference, "A" on up. But, I don't like extreme sagging.
Butt size: Must be less than twice as wide as their natural waist, and not have obvious amounts of cellulite.
Legs: No preference, beyond hair removal.
Hygiene: Mediocre and above. Body hair, or lack thereof, should have a clean appearance.
Makeup: Just don't pile it on.

Side note: I am turned off by women that appear to be torturing themselves in order to meet society's expectations. I don't like bony women, heals and the spinal curvature and foot deformities they cause over time, nor visible signs of obviously optional cosmetic surgery. Not so much for their appearance as this: If a woman is investing large sums of time, money, pain, and suffering into their appearance with the intent of finding a mate, it makes me wonder what they want as payback.

...Some of you guys are posting pictures of fictional characters that in no way reflect a realistic female body type.

If the woman is smart and I am attracted to her personality, then I would be drawn towards nice shoulders/neck. And back. And pretty hands.

Edit: I forgot. My BMI is 19 and I have a boyish figure. No hips and broad shoulders... I'm missing out on all the Omega-3 fatty acids! :(

I think most men's preferences have a wider variety than that -- there are some types of women I find sexy, where other men wouldn't.

For example, the pale white skin with raven black hair on a skinny girl? Incredibly sexy. Or a slightly heavy latina with curves? Still sexy. It's all relative to the person. The only "type" of woman I'm consistently NOT attracted to are black women. I'm not being racist, I'm just not physically attracted to them.

Question: What about something like this?

Hmmm...Not too bad. She doesn't appear to be overweight, just big boned (assuming that white thing I forget the name of is not holding anything in). I'd give her a look in real life, but wouldn't ask her out.

In the case with me, when I see a big woman, I don't think my rejection of her as shallow. I'm an endurance athlete, so naturally I'm looking for a mate who is not only intellectual, but also athletically built for distance. The endurance athlete culture is a way of life, so when I see a woman like this I don't see a woman who will understand my lifestyle. I also want to have children someday who will have similar features to me.

Not bad. Slightly heavier than I would prefer, but nothing that would turn me away given an attractive mind (which eliminates 90% of the populace, at minimum.) If I ended up in a relationship with her, I'd suggest we both start going to the gym together, though =p

Indubitably

Up to a point its really not about body fat percentage, but how the body fat is distributed. Generally I would say that the wider a woman's hips are the heavier she can be and still be physically attractive. A lot of the girls I have been attracted to my guy friends have described as "squaty". They are usually within the healthy 15 to 25% body fat range, but I think the trend is to consider tall thin girls with very narrow hips to be the ideal. It probably does have to do with constant exposure to fashion models, but even if they don't understand why I think most men are still somewhat attracted to a woman with wide hips and a small waist. The hour glass figure is pretty much hardwired into the male brain as attractive. You really never know what is going to set you off though, occasionally I am attracted to women who are very "boyish" in their features, or sometimes they are more svelte and skinny like those models everyone is into. Even when you are talking purely about physical attributes it can be hard to pin down any one feature that works every time.

Let's see, I am tall and "sinewy". Probably much stronger than you would guess looking at me. Bench press 305 for example.

I am attracted to all types of women. I have had relationships with overweight women, blondes, brown skin, tall, small chested, big chested. It would appear I don't have any real physical preferences based on this.

"I do like a brown-eyed woman" as the song says. I will say that. I always look at eyes first - that is a strong preference for me.

If I've read all of the responses right, then I can't believe I'm going to be the first to admit that I prefer women with big breasts. By "big" I mean when she takes off her bra I say "Holy Shit, those are pretty big." I like my women with a bit of meat on her bones - too emaciated and all I can think about it that I'll break her. Aside from that, the most important thing is that he she has a great sense of humour or really interesting, well thought out points of view - meaning that other things don't matter as much. A woman who has a positive self-image is also nice because they are likely to be more confident and fun to be around, meaning less drama.

I'm 6'3" tall, about 215 lbs (96 kg) and relatively fit.

SRVcardsfan27
01-23-2009, 07:23 PM
I'm 5'9, 155. Proportionality is key for me as well. Basically I'd like a girl to be about 5'1-5'8 and weigh between 115-140, and a face that is at least semi-attractive. If I can get those, personality will go a long way.

I read that the cultural ideal is a heavier, curvier woman when the culture is encouraging fecundity and a thinner less sexually "vibrant" woman when women are primarily workers. I was just curious as to what was thought about a "normal" sized woman, size 12 approx.

I read this in Women and Self Esteem

Certainly dateable, but it would rely a lot more on her mind and personality than her body.

And yes, as was pointed out -- shape is more important than size. I've seen some latina women who would be considered "heavy," but their curves made them look much more attractive than a comparable weighted woman.

I like "real" women, generally with more meat than the western "ideal", I don't want to see bone. Skinny doesn't do it for me. Athletic probably describes what I'm attracted to most but it does depend on the girl. I've been attracted to girls who would be described as "heavy set" the only real factor physically that's quantifiable is height. I'm a short guy about 5'6" (full grown and I weigh about 156 lb in an athletic build) and generally girls who are taller than I don't attract me. I can look at them and think "huh, beautiful girl" but am not personally attracted. It's really a case by case thing.

I seem to find the vast majority of women "attractive" (doesn't necessarily mean I will be sexually attracted), but if I were to construct the most physically attractive woman...
1. Somewhat smaller/slender (no real idea in terms of height/weight)
2. Light skin
3. Large-ish dark eyes
4. I know this term gets thrown around quite a bit, but "proportional"
5. Well-defined facial features
In a more "big-picture" sense, I guess I'm most attracted to women who are smaller, but wouldn't exactly be described as "cute".

So basically the opposite of me (aside from dark eyes).

I'm about 6' tall 150 lbs. longish brown hair, somewhat pale, fairly average build.

I've found that there's one type of girl I'm generally attracted to:
Build: Somewhat skinny and curvy, if you will. Medium weight. The anorexic and "big boned" looks are complete turnoffs
Face: Cute, not attracted too much to the "model" face type (ie. Angelina Jolie)
Hair: Brunette, and occasionally a light brown. Only blonde if its NATURAL.
Eyes: Usually brown or green, but it doesn't really matter
Race: Generally either Hispanic or Caucasian

Although I find all women to be beautiful, there are definitely certain types I'm more attracted to... physically. Breast should be full, whatever size they are, just filled out. I mostly like model types, stripper types and skinny goth girls. I guess the common denominators are pretty face, good skin, little butt, good muscle tone and low body fat %. I've never found mass attractive on a woman (though it seems I'm in the minority in this regard these days, most guys seem to like some "meat" around the butt). On breast size I'm mostly indifferent though I won't deny the big ones are fun, especially if on a woman with thin hips and small everywhere else (usually only found on the, ahem, cosmetically enhanced).

Hayden Panettiere is very pretty in the face but has an average body -- short legs and average butt. Scarlett Johanssen is above average face but soft (some time in the gym might change that). Angelina Jolie is top notch all around. Jennifer Aniston is above average face and body that ranges from average to above average. The various "real life" models posted were not at all attractive, IMO... body fat % way too high. I find most Hollywood actresses above average -- the fashion super-models are the ones I usually consider the most beautiful.

Me, I'm 6'2", around 220, muscular/athletic, trim.

The tall, slender types wind me up the most, but I do find many other types attractive. Slender women are just physically easier to handle (put into position, pick up, flip over, move around, etc).

Although I do prefer smaller breasts, I think the least attractive figure of all is the one with a large backside and small breasts. That type is very repulsive to me. Those are mainly found in North America. I don't think I have ever seen one in any European country.

Finally, there are always exceptions. I once had a quite large, but well proportioned, gf who had an amazingly beautiful face. She was also very self-confident and really knew how to boost my ego. If it weren't for her amazing personality and pretty face, I would not have been interested in sex with her.

I think this is more attractive although it could be because I have healthy self esteem and she kind of looks like me.

Of all the images I've seen on the thread, that's the one I'm most attracted to. Again, it's the hips. I also like a feature I call "high hips" where the narrowest part of the hourglass is well above the navel, my own picture to contribute:

I'm 5'11 165 lean/athletic. I like short (5 foot to 5'5) petite blonds with ample, but not huge assets, and tall (5'7 to 5'10) slim brunettes with nice legs, round asses, and perky tits.

European accent is also a definite plus.

Scarlett Johansen is hot. I'm neither a man nor a lesbian, but I think the hourglass figure is incredibly sexy. Women built like Catherine Zeta Jones, Scarlett Johansen, Angelina Jolie when she had some meat on her still (now she's too skinny).

Apparently the hourglass figure is found on 8.40% of women now.

Here's a question; which of the body types in the picture below do you find most attractive?

Agreed. Second from the left (though her breasts seem a bit larger than they should be, proportionally-- she's just 'fitter' seeming than the first girl on the left). Third from the left is second. First on the left third. The girl on the far right is last.

I have preferences, but I've been attracted to all sorts of women for different reasons, I like a woman with nice legs the longer the better, breast size in unimportant as long as they're somewhat proportional and aesthetically pleasing. I like them all heights too but one as tall as me or taller might be more interesting since they're hard to find, me being 6'3" and all. Brody Dalle from the Distillers is rather well rounded in my preferences, plus she has a raspy singing voice that I find pretty hot.

Well, they are attracted to the pic & not the person, right? I doubt any of the people who have answered with a celebrity in mind have actually met them or have the ability to see them in real life without makeup.

I wonder how many of you, if given the opportunity, would even approach one of these girls?

For my part, I wouldn't approach a celebrity whose looks I admired because:
a) Celebrity, professional attention whore, ew, gross
b) Personality, vibes, intelligence - at least as important as physical attractiveness. Physical attraction is nothing to me without those less-definable aspects... and I refer you back to point a.

But we're talking about the physical here, and celebrity pics are very handy - plentiful, permissible, and relatively easily identified. I don't want to have to ask permission of people whom I know in real life, so I can post their picture on an internet forum.

That said...
How about Winona Ryder? I've always had a crush on her, police record or no...

I don't think that a specific body type really has much to do with my attraction beyond initial glance. Personality is really more of a deal breaker with me, but since this thread is asking about body type I would have to say that I prefer women with an average shape and weight (Unfortunately for me that average is one of the 1960's and 70's). sigh*

Maybe I just need to put on weight and lower my standards; my dating pool would certainly increase. Not that I'd date that much anyway.

Regarding the body type pictures I posted here (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.);

From left to right (left being a):

(a) the average women's figure with "standard measures"
(b) classical 90-60-90-Typ with hourglass figure
(c) the sportive type: masculine, tight pelvis, but big breasts
(d) the "Barbie type": thin, big breasts, tight pelvis, long legs

Weirdly, the current ideal is d and most people who answered chose b, the hourglass figure. A is the most common type found in women.

Aha! the article listed above supports the statement I made earlier that preferences are due to the role of women in the culture.

In traditional cultures where women are primarily housewives and mothers, more corpulent figures are preferred. In cultures where women have more political power and more economic participation and employment, slender figures are preferred.

True that!

For me, body type isn't much of a factor... It's all wrapped up in option B.

I couldn't. I could definitely recognize the differences between the types, but they had no effect on my evaluation of the woman's attractiveness. That seems kind of odd to me, since I've had reactions to some of the other pictures posted here. Then again, all the other women had different faces.

Interesting, my second choice would have been A, and I would actually have preferred that B was much shorter and had a slightly wider build.

INTJoe

In Lucid's example, I also would identify "B" as the best type. Type "D" is way too skinny/fake looking.

On the one above, I'd say hourglass followed by pear. Both look like they have nice big asses.

Proportionality is key for me. I think a good waist-to-hips ratio is also good. There is supposed to be some "golden ratio" that the hips should be 1.41 times larger than the waist or something. I forget the number but there is supposed to be a "perfect" one, and Halle Barry had it.

I like girls that are about 5'8" 130 with C/D cup and 36" hips. This is pretty ideal for me. If anyone has seen Eyes Wide Shut, there is a scene with about 10 naked girls standing in a circle at the orgy, and I would say those girls' body shape is "my type". Even down to the proportion of their areolas. That is probably T.M.I. though!

The face is the clencher to me. I've never understood how guys go for women with good bodies whose faces are.. well.. difficult to look at as harsh as that sounds. First, I'm: 5'6" 125 lbs 9% body fat. I just have a stupidly high metabolism. I also happen to have a small frame, so I don't look like I weigh that little.

What do I like body wise? Curves and fluffiness. Large chest and hips as wide as a truck. I won't touch a girl under a C (prefer a 36-40, at least D), I just can't get turned on by small breasts.

I prefer height, but it's not a requirement. I also prefer the thick, meat on her bones types, skinny women aren't pleasurable for me.

I seem to like the model type build. Must be 1-6 inches shorter than me (5'10'') According to chickapedia.com most of the girls in my examples are around 5'6''/(34/24/34)

I don't like girls that are so skinny that I'm able to count each of their ribs when they're standing with arms at their sides, or where their humerus attaches to their shoulder blade. Otherwise, I like thinner, fit women.

Generally I have no preference between dark and blonde hair yet I usually prefer both to red. I think I prefer tanned skin tones too. Asians, half Asians, and South American women are really sexy.

In my personal opinion, Marisa Miller is an 11 and so defines the 1 to 10 scale for every other woman.

However, that is just a preference. I'm perfectly happy with anything >8. And the interesting thing is that, while the 1-10 scale doesn't seem to vary much by individual, my friends and still I frequently disagree on which girls we are actually attracted to. It's like we generally agree on what score a girl should get, but her score doesn't directly correlate to our attraction to her. I've seen plenty of 10's which didn't particularly attract me in any way. I recognize they are beautiful, and I'm attracted to them in the general way that I'm attracted to all asthetically pleasing things, but not necessarily personally attracted.

Classic hourglass, slightly stylized, taller, and more fit. I'll trade off height and leanness for the curves, any day of the week.

Marisa Miller will do just fine, though.

Au contraire. I base my scale on percentiles.

I didn't know who she was, so I just googled her photos.

In my personal opinion, she is 6, maybe 7.

Her jaws are too wide, eyes too dark and recessed, lips too sharp and unfriendly, and breasts way too large for a woman her size. Definitely not my type.

Generally, I like moderately wide hips with small boobs and medium height.

The real thing that I am into though, is personality. If the chick doesnt have an interesting personality I am not interested at all.

I'm always surprised by people considering celebrities to be above average in terms of beauty. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since people always use celebrities to demonstrate the pinnacle of beauty, but am I the only person who thinks that average people are often much more physically appealing than celebrities? I think people find celebrities attractive because they're told to, in most cases.

Of course they tend to be above average; that's usually how they're chosen. But it is also very unlikely that the most beautiful people are celebrities, simply because celebrities comprise such a small percentage of the population.

I structure the scale like this
1 < repulsive < 5 < attractive < 10
1 = everything is wrong
5 = meh
10 = nothing is wrong

I assign 10s to girls that I'm not specifically attracted to because I can't think of anything wrong with them except that they don't "click" for me. For some reason Marisa Miller just makes me fire on all cylinders. If I looked at any one part of her I wouldn't expect her to be an 11, but when I look at her as a whole it just seems obvious. Actually, I think that I'm somewhat unconsciously influenced by the fact that I've never heard her say anything retarded (unlike most beautiful women). Since I consider intelligence and whatnot important attractors I'm not 100% sure that I'm not factoring that in.

Besides, look at those abs!

I have pretty realistic standards but without makeup and movie tricks, Kirsten Dunst looks like a creature that escaped from a lab. I'll agree that celebrities are chosen for their above average looks, but I think people give them too much credit for their looks. I think a lot of them are average or only above average in comparison to most people I see throughout the day.

Maybe it's an ethnic thing, but I don't get the obsession with skinny chicks. Most of the women others have described as curvy I would still say are too frail for my taste. For me two things equal instant winner in a female's physique; nice V taper to her back and thick thighs with a nice rump (Ok, guess that's 3 things). I'm 5'9 230 and very muscular, I don't want a rag doll that I can toss around with reckless abandon, its the difference between a lil girl and a Woman! ;)

And that is why everyone can find someone they are happy with. The basic standards are similar, but personal taste is like 90% of the decision. Personally I perfer girls who are slender and slightly muscular. A girl who is just slender looks like cloth draped over a stick and a girl who is just muscular looks like a man.

That doesn't mean I don't find all sorts of different body types attractive, just that it's my preference.

Personally I like curvy-ish women, usually shorter than myself (5'6") or as tall as me. I really like hips. And proportionate breasts. That's generally what I like. But really, what's really attractive in a woman is her personality. I really like the eyes. Like... almond shaped. Light blue or green eyes are a fav. I don't really like the really really little kind of women. Makes me feel I have to be gentle with them for fear they might break in my hands.

I myself, am a curvy woman. But not thick or chubby. I have long muscle-toned legs from running all the time. Breasts are D-sized, but they are proportionate to my body. So it doesn't look weird. (Example: little petite girl with DD-sized breasts.) A LOT of people in my life have told me I have a nice/perfect ass... So I guess I do. et honestly, I dun like it. :/

Agreed on all counts. That being said, I like a very wide range of hair/face/body combinations, so I guess I should state what I dislike:

1) Taller than me. I'm 6', if she's taller it gets scary.
2) Muscles. Ew.
3) Anorexic. Again. Ew.
4) Short legs / disproportionately large head
5) A very broad back. See #2.

Am I only allowed to pick one?

Anyhow I'm 5'9" and 195 lbs, but built rather solid with wide shoulders and a meso/endomorphic body type. I guess the bit of fat blurs my muscle definition enough that people are repeatedly surprised at how strong I really am yet never seem to consider me to be overweight either.

Like others have said, proportionality is very important. I do have upper-limits though on how big the bust and booty can be. I prefer women to be close to my height so we can look each other right in the eye all the time without either having to look up or down. I prefer them to be on the slim side but I want to see some decent abs, not ribs. I prefer hourglass figures over all others, though slim "boyish" builds are good as long as she isn't so lacking in T&A that she might as well be a boy. Whatever the size, the breasts must be natural. I also like hair to be at least shoulder length, I don't like "butch" haircuts on women at all. Makeup usage should be minimal and I prefer brown eyes as well.

I'm tall, broad shouldered, big but not overweight (basically the upper end of ideal BMI), and I like women of a variety. I like moderate builds, so not too thin and not too big, but most things in between can work (this range is pretty big). Same goes for boobs and height (not too much, not too little). Now that's what I'm talking about!!!

Agreed!

Anyhow, I seem to have forgotten to mention that I'm more of a leg man as well. Maybe it's because a good pair of legs actually require work and maintenance while breasts are mostly genetics and sometimes trickery.

Brunette, round face, hourglass and slightly thin.

Almost perfect example of hourglass:

Sorry to disappoint, that woman is not an hourglass...she's a rectangular who looks curvy because of her pose...

Straight female here but thought this was an interesting thread.

I don't have a specific body type I find attractive; I agree the whole package has to come together and proportionality plays a big part.

Sort of an old Hollywood glamour fan here but:
Grace Kelly would be close to a 10 for me -- face/ body wise:

Rita Haywoth is also close:

A true hourglass figure? Kate Winselt:

Waif-like beauty? No one beats Audrey Hepburn

Even better..........athletes and dancers who not only have a beautiful body but also very functional ones. I like Gabrielle Reece, the volleyball player, in her prime and Anne Reinking, in All That Jazz/ Chicago/ etc..

(Reinking is the woman)

Well, as long as she looks curvy...who cares?

So you would prefer someone who looks curvy, rather than someone who actually is?

When there's plenty of room in-between, why deal in absolutes?

Someone who looks curvy is the cake. The icing is if she really is.

It might not be practical to always observe your SO from a three-quarters angle. :p

This made me laugh. There is a difference between illusion and actuality, correct?

Of course, and it becomes important when professional photography is no longer serving as a filter.

I'm 5'11", 160lbs, pretty thin I suppose.
I most prefer curvy women. Large breasts, wide hips, and large bottoms are all pluses.

I am about 180cm and 67kg. I have a naturally V shaped torso, and am a bit toned, with dark hair and eyes and olive-ish skin.

I am attracted to women who are either darker or lighter than me, but I am not too fond of those with similar complexion. And I usually prefer them to be curvy (but with firm features) and rather tall.

I didn't read the whole thread, but has the original poster come to some conclusions? Are some statistics being collected?

I'm 6'1 and about 165 ibs. I prefer women of the similar dimensions I suppose, between 5'7 and 6'0, healthy weight, nice legs. I prefer breasts fuller, but not extremely large.

These preferences are not ironclad. I've broken past them...often.

This sequence made me laugh out LOUD...one can tell the boys who are used to looking at pics versus viewing the real deal...:)

I have yet to meet a man that would choose a skinny naked chick over a true hourglass shaped naked chick (curvy seems to mean fat, and I don't mean fat, I mean shape...like 39-28-39 kind of shape...)...any of you beg to differ?

I find women with curves to be aesthetically pleasing.

For a relationship I prefer tall (5'8-6'0) and slender; curves are nice for casual hookups though.
Last year, I heard of some survey research which concluded that most men had these same preferences: classic model-esque wife or girlfriend, but mistresses or one-night- stands with more robust assets.
My understanding is that a lot of men refrain from dating these curvier women because their bodies are often associated with lasciviousness and lack of substance. For me, though, I guess it's more about the long run. I've always believed that the skinnier a woman is, the less likely she is to ever reach that weight limit beyond which her attractiveness declines during our relationship and/or marriage. It makes sense, at least in theory. Of course I can't be sure of the extent to which it holds true in real life. Here's Kirsty Alley's then and now, as an example:
