Just curious, who browses the avatar boards and uses a non-custom avatar?

My Lolita one is a non-custom avatar from the gallery that just recently got a photoshop makeover with some pink accents (thank you LionsPride).
I used a few non-custom avatars before I figured out how to make them myself. At one point I had a doll avatar.

I use this one because it's comfortable. For me, an avatar has to make me think.

I used an avatar from the gallery when I first came here, but decided to branch out.
Mathnerdkid - I associate yours with Intellael who used to use it.

I used a gallery one for about a day until I decided to use this one.

I noticed Lucid changed her avatar to something abstract.
That inspired me to create an abstract one.
You are a math guy ... have you considered using a fractal as your avatar ?

I've browsed the non custom avatars, liked many or most of them. Most of the ones I liked as potential avatars were taken but I might not have used them anyway in case some mental association had been established with them amongst the community, and there's the fact that I initially hadn't realized there were more than just masks so I thought it might look too generic. So I started with a custom avatar I created.

When I started I was using a non-custom avatar from the kubrick collection. the monkey with a bone. but then I decided to go with a custom one. I have four custom avatars at this moment.

I think I picked this one as I was signing up, it was love at first sight. I might adopt a DIY avatar at some point, but I like to be recognizable and I enjoy the convenience of appropriation. It's the same with my username, which is a nickname given to me a long time ago. Were I to be burdened with the responsibility of creating my own name and avatar, I'm sure I'd never be definitively pleased with my inventions.

I had considered using a fractal, or some other math-related thing. I also tried computers and science, but nothing really worked for me. Once I browsed the gallery, I found this one to be perfect.
