View Full Version : The Quasi-Official INTJ Animal Representative Poll
BlackHawk

We INTJs need an official animal to represent us! This poll's choices come from the "INTJ as an animal" thread. Please select the ONE that BEST REPRESENTS the INTJ personality.
*Jezebel or Moderators, I would appreciate your authorization to improve this poll from Quasi-Official to OFFICIAL!

Hm. I see votes but no posts. I shall make the first strike, then. For the turtle! The turtle is easily most like the I. N. T. J. type. Not extroverted, is it? Nope. Towards sensing versus intuiting, wouldn't all animals be sensing? oh well. Turtles seem more along the lines of thinkers rather than feelers. Ah, cold-bloodedness is enough? Not getting all worked up about anything? Also, it seems more like the judging type rather than the perceiving type: Does one thing at a time and satisfactorily.
Towards other options: Foxes maybe, but wolves are too scary and evil-looking. *hides* Also, too sociable and emotional. Birds? Birds are flighty? Dang. Not good enough. Owls? Owls always look more surprised and silly than wise, at least to myself. Other birds might work. Maybe. They and felines seem too dishonest. What else is the turtle up against? The sloth? Um, too passive? Even though they are cool.

Falcons because they are solitary most of the time, yet can come up with hunting strategies to best achieve their goals, and they are often aloof.
More votes, people!
This is to represent all INTJs! You should contribute if you want to have a say in the final result!

By the way, owl-people, owls are NOT smart, even in comparison to other birds of prey. To much of their brain is dedicated to hearing and eye sight.
Wolf all the way!

Why isn't tiger in the poll? And why let a stupid animal like an owl be in it?

Ack! Wait a minute! Okay, for arrogance: The birds and felines have the types of arrogance that wish to be admired. They are snooty and vain. Turtles are arrogant in that they do their own thing and don't care about anyone else. Birds and felines seem more receptive to attention. A turtle, if it cared to notice you at all, would snap at you to send you on your way. The wolves are winning, but it makes no sense, to myself. Mayhaps you merely look to the lone wolf, since most are too sociable and complacent towards hierarchies?

Most wolves are too sociable . . .
And Tiger probably just slipped my mind when i created the poll.

Wolves are sociable, but only with other wolves.

The only animals that actually are sociable with other species in a non-predator/prey relationship are cleaner wrasse-ish (i.e., in symbiotic relationships). I would say any animal social interactions make that animal sociable on the whole, as animals don't interact (other than predator-prey, of course) enough to make a type-sociability comparison.
I'm sticking with my nick. It was a good and valid observation.
Wolves are sociable, but only with other wolves.
Only with other wolves in their own pack...
Wolves are in fact very private animals.

I voted wolf. I think they are pretty INTJ'ish.
They are being social with their pack because it's needed to survive. You aren't a hermit either are you?
I could also make sense of the eagle/falcon, or else a tiger.

wolf... imo the animal that best represents an intj. they can go solo for for long periods of time until they find a pack which they think would be trusted. when they find a mate, they mate with their chosen partner for life. 'dapple' of robert jordan's "wheel of time" is an intj wolf.
although i also love dogs, they're more of exfx. eagles/hawks are pretty domineering. tigers are close but i think they are more of entj
A She-Wolfs Story
One day an old wolf wandering throught the forest of the Golden Ones came upon a she-wolf to whom he was both friend and teacher to. The she-wolf was sad this day for one she had known as friend and mate had visted her this day and through unkind words he left her with broken spirit and heart. "Do you think me this thing he has said?" She asked. "NO", said the old wolf with a deep snarl in his throat. The old wolf turned and told the she-wolf, "I shall return shortly." The she-wolf looked up with a start, "Please don't seek this wolf out", for she knew the old wolf was angery. "He is not important any more. The old wolf stopped and looked back at the she-wolf. Her head hung low, eyes filled with tears, her spirit broken. He remember the first time he had met this she-wolf many months ago, and the lessons she had shared with him. His heart went out for her. "She-Wolf hear me, this was no wolf that came to you, this was a dog. One with little honor. This dog who thinks he is wolf is not.A true wolf would not say this thing to you as he did. A wolf is loyal, honorable, and true to his friends. You are wolf, the spirit of the Wolf is in you. He walks with you and teaches you. You are wolf, pack- leader, teacher." The old wolf smiled, "You are beloved friend, and loved by many." The old wolf walked to her and put his head over hers, the tears of the she-wolf fell like rain. "This dog is nothing, remember who you are She-Wolf." Aye she said to him, I will remember. The old wolf turned and walked towards the forest and before leaving looked back and asked. "She- Wolf , Who are you", the she-wolf looked up came to her feet and with pride said, "I am leader of the Golden Wolfs. One who loves all. Peace maker." And with a smile, "Loved by many, I am Tndr-Soul." The old wolf with pride smiled back at her

14 votes for Wolf, next closest is Owl with 6.
I'll let the poll run a little longer, but some very strong points have been made in favor of the INTJ Wolf.

I am disappointed to not see a bear on your poll. I feel a bear best represents the INTJ. Intelligent, adaptable, curious, not overly social, but fiercely loyal.

And wolves are crazy ferocious! oh well. It looks as if I have lost my battle for the turtle. I am a fan of bears but don't consider them to be especially like myself. Anyways, to the point about wolves working well together in packs, how often do the I. N. T. J. types work well together? Sure, we could, and sure, we aren't entirely at each other's throats here, but groups of I. N. T. J. type humans are not especially common or natural construction. Wolves might be a bit like the I. N. T. J. in some ways, but I turtle is more like myself.

Wolves don't usually attack humans... where as you hear about bear attacks quite a bit.

Wolf - yes! African Wolf - double yes!! ('cause he lives where it's warm ;) )
PS - by voting here I (as a mod) give the quasi-official poll a quasi-vote for approval. I'll leave it to Jezebel to raise this to official status. How 'bout it Jez?

i got a wolf as a result in a facebook froonie test and all the choices that leads to wolf are for intj's

I felt that same urge. I completely understand.
Also, I agree. I score Wolf in every animal test I take (or if there isn't the wolf result, dog, which is similar, but not as good), and I believe it represents INTJs better than any other animal. One of the many things they have in common is being misunderstood. Fairy tales always make the wolves look bad, and we grow up fearing or hating them, only to discover later that they're a WHOLE lot better than what we heard.

i hate the red riding hood and the 3 little pigs story :) hahaha but the boy who cried wolf made more sense. the wolf probably observed the boy's attitude before he attacked the herd of sheep hehehe.

May I suggest the CALIFORNIA CHANNEL ISLAND FOX
I was looking up a list of endangered species the other day... and this was one of the animals I could relate to.

The African Wolf was suggested on a related, but not poll, thread about INTJs and animals. I forget who originally suggested it, but I am taking his/her word that it exists.
And it will take a major comeback for any animal to overtake the Wolves!
But good luck (go falcons!)
Edit: I read the wiki page on channel foxes: very interesting . . .

Until you start subconsciously assigning scores in abilities to people and animals, you haven't been looking at D&D too much.

is it when you get 16 or 17 you get a bonus of 2 where you assign the number or does it depend on the dm?

To determine bonuses:
(Even number - 10)/2. Examples: 12 --> 1. 16 --> 3.
(Odd number - 11)/2. Examples: 11 --> 0. 17 --> 3.
