i don't see the "simplicity" in having to spin a freakin wheel to type something out. i think pressing a button for each letter i want is simpler, personally.
call me old school, but i think i won't be purchasing one of those...ever.

thoughts?

Please tell me you got the joke. It was from The Onion (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.). They are nothing but sarcasm and parody.

Aw, sweet! I just get so confused with all these different "keys". It's about time they came out with a laptop with one giant ipod-style scroll wheel.

Don't sweat it. They went to a lot of trouble to make that video. I was impressed with the effort. You are not the first to bite on that hook. Just think of it as a learning experience.

Now, come over to the game threads so we can mess with you about it.

Seriously, they even managed to fool the Beijing Evening News a few years back.

"Everything is just a few hundred clicks away!"

It's especially funny when the guy in the video takes 45 minutes to type an email to his friend.

I first watched it on Youtube, so it wasn't evidently clear it was a parody. But, within 15 seconds I knew it was a hoax. Don't feel bad, many people thought it was true, I'd link in some of the ridiculous news stories I've read, but most of them have been taken off.

For those of you who are interested in some type of keyboardless computer. Take a look at this. To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Right now its in the prototype stage. But could be interesting if they could pull it off for under $300 dollars. Which is their current target.

Very nice. Still, it has a keyboard, even if it's on the touchscreen. I think having NO keyboard at all is simply not possible without sufficient voice recognition/thought recognition.

I'd like to see that crossed with the DS - A multitouchscreen on the bottom, and a display on top. Coupled with Optimus Primus style customisability, that would be awesome.

Cross the touchscreen with Das Keyboard - it would be a touchscreen keyboard, but with invisible keys!

Now that is fantastic! If only they could work in a flexible screen so it rolls into a tube and slips in your pocket, combined with wireless, anywhere, high speed internet...............now that would be something!

HAHA you are too cute! It's ok, everyone has their moments.

I'm pretty gullible and have been tricked so many times that now I actually have a pretty good BS-detector. All part of the training, little grasshopper.
