Following on from a line in the last thread (dummies in the bunch) referring to the INTJ's keenness to articulate concisely and well, I ask the question: Do INTJ's use 'text talk' when sending messages or write traditionally yet concisely? Personally, I cannot abide by text-talk 'C U L8R' messages while acknowledging that they are, on occasion, functional.

I use some text talk, usually abbreviations but nothing that would require the other person to have to actively decipher my message. I absolutely despise misspelt words in text messages, especially words with double letters. I know it's easier but it just looks wrong. Also, my friends always complain that I write really long texts, but I just have a lot to say and don't see why I should waste time and money spreading it out over a long text conversation. I guess I treat texts the same as I do emails. I'm just grateful that they exist so that I don't have to phone people!
I won't use text talk, it annoys the hell out of me. I spend the extra few seconds and spell words right, so I don't look like a dumbass. It's also worked for me in the past, whenever a friend steals my phone and decides to play a prank, people know I don't text like a retard.

I do on occasion but it pains me greatly.

I don't do "text talk". My phone has a full qwerty keypad and I use it.

I don't even think about writing things in abbreviation when texting or AIMing. Full-on grammar and spelling.

I very rarely use abbrevations like these. By some reason I never cared for typing properly on MSN, but with cellphones and well, essentially everything bar MSN, I always type properly and coherently.
On a totally unrelated side note, the first two posters in this thread use the same personal text in their avatar window...

I almost feel dumber just from reading text talk. Even when I text with my cell I write properly.

To jump on the dogpile, no I do not use text talk, but I do use very common ones like "lol" and "brb" in texts and IM's too.

Oh lord I hate texting. As much as I hate phone calls, I'd much rather call someone than try to send them a text message. What a waste of time!

I've tried and I just can't do the text talk. I would rather send out multiple text messages to get my message across rather than use that.

Almost never. I only used "text talk" back when I played World of Warcraft, and even then I tried to avoid using it.
It baffles and annoys me whenever I see ur. Just two more letters!
Dammit!

I type things out. I will use acronyms like BTW, but I don't shorten or misspell words that I type.
