View Full Version : Best Photo hosting?
Hi everyone,
I've just taken my first set of pics on my new camera body and would like some suggestions from your experience on the best free/cheap photo hosting online with nice picture display quality/layouts...especially if I'm interested in photoblogging as well...
Thanks,
Zhen

I've been using photobucket for several years - haven't had any problems with it at all.

I'd say Flickr, me too.
Thanks...but I can't get into my Damn Flickr account (!) which is why I'm now looking for greener pastures...
But I think I am also interested in a more "professional" finish where images look REALLY GOOD e.g shutterchance, smugmug...but I'd still like to consider all options based on others experience.
yeah I am one of those annoying "shop around" people but more so because it's hard to live with disappointment from impulse purchases...hence why I tend to take my time deciding...I guess sometimes I get gripped by indecision too.
also, in terms of PHOTO BLOGGING as opposed to pure PHOTO VIEWING what do people like?

You could try photo.net
For just a straight viewing gallery, I use carbonmade for my 3d artwork . It is customizable for different album layouts.

I have my own website at 2mhost.com and it costs me $2.75 a month. One of the public things I have on it is this open source photo gallery To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. (version 2) that I use for some family pictures. It has a lot of nice features. Might be something to check out.
checking...thanks guys...
meanwhile still can't get into flickr- i think there comes an age you need to start writing down passwords! LOL

I've been looking for photo hosting aswell. Just because myphotoalbum.com is crap. Avoid it.

I've got photobucket. it works for me.
Well I Fiiiiinally got access to my Flickr account today ironically! :)
Ytterbium, from my research this is the best free one especially if your chief concern is image quality. If you are prepared to pay though smugmug has awesome image quality...cheers

So yeah I'm a cheapskate.

I like Photobucket better... If you want hosting and a simple link, it works better and is more intuitive than Flickr. If you want to share pictures with everyone, Flickr works better for that.
