I was looking for your suggestions on which addons to use with Firefox. I had been looking in the Chrome feedback discussion. Not a fan of Google's pervasiveness in web technology, especially as someone that likes much of Yahoo's functionality better. Don't die Yahoo!
I currently have adblock, reloadevery and flashblock. Wondering if anyone else has success with addons that one might like?

Hm, I use noscript rather than flashblock, but I don't know if noscript is any better. Does flashblock have an anticlickjacking feature?

Two more useful addons I like:
1) CustomizeGoogle: cleans Google pages (of various products) a lot, leaves only the necessary information.
2) Snap Links: open several links by one click. Especially helpful when you are researching some lists full of hyperlinks.

I use StumbleUpon to relieve boredom, IE Tab for those pesky pages that don't like Firefox and FootieFox for keeping up-to-date on my football scores.

Download Statusbar (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) is pretty much a must for me.
PDF Download (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) is also pretty nifty, especially in conjunction with Foxit Reader (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.) (Not related to Firefox in any way, funnily enough).

My favorite FF embellishments are adblock (very important), compact skins and foxytunes! Foxytunes is brilliant, it adds some buttons to your status bar that control Winamp from Firefox.
(I use Flashmute, an independent app, to make sure I don't get surprised by any flash that survives the adblock filter and as a quick way to mute Youtube (ctrl-alt-m!).)
PDF Download rarely works the way it should for me.

CS Lite and Image Zoom
I use Stop Autoplay instead of Flashblock.

Oh I have a lot of extensions for Firefox. Here's the ones I think are really handy. In no particular order of handyness.
Adblock Plus 1.0
Adblock Filterset.G Updater 0.3.1.3
Download Embedded 0.5
DownloadHelper 3.5.1 (great for online videos)
Firefox companion for eBay
ForecastFox 0.9.8
Update Scanner 2.2.3 - watches webpages for updates.

I have:
Add N Edit Cookies:
NoScript: which is great, but annoying to use at first
also some stuff that doesn't really need mentioning....
Some media players, a few toolbars, an add-on for a text based online game,
and some torrent finders.
I used to use Firebug, but it's not working with FireFox's recent build.

Fast Dial - Adds google chrome style favourites panels on your blank tabs. Set Ctrl-Shift-H to load fast tabs in the current window, and fill it with 5x3 panels, and then populate each of these with your most visited sites. I then use it as a nice little home page which loads on Ctrl-Shift-H. Nifty!
Stop or Reload - Merges Stop and Reload buttons, so only one is visible at a time. Saves space.
Classic Fox - Minimalist theme, maximise screen space.
Also, click 2nd mouse button over home, untick bookmarks (fast dial takes care of that, or alt-menu), and then click customise. Then basically drag all the toolbars you don't want off of the toolbar area (e.g. yahoo or google search bar, adverts etc).
Also, learn all the shortcuts and use F11 to go full screen.
I don't like clutter, so maximising my screen space is nice.
I experimented with an add-on which merged list pages into one long page, but it was annoying on some sites, so I took it off.

I use Firebug, and I'm running on nightlies. What do you mean by "not working"?
Normally I wouldn't butt in, but Firebug is just so indispensable.
I think FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) is useful . It lets you backup your whole firefox profile.

Adblock is my favorite by far. I also use Colorzilla (my second fave), MeasureIt, and sometimes Firebug for web design.

I have Firebug 1.05, and Firefox 3.0.5 ... on the Add-On bar it says it's not compatible with this version of FF.
I'll try the firebug homepage and see if I can download it from there. Maybe the updater is the problem.
That prog. kicks ass. just so many things you can do with it ;)
Update: sure enough, the updater wasn't working properly. Thanks man! Got it back now.

NoScript is awesome, even if it can get annoying sometimes. AdBlock Plus for obvious reasons as well. You should also get IETab if you have a PC, some pages display better in IE without actually going to the browser and potentially compromising your security. :)

That's not correct. IETab loads IE in a tab, complete with all its flaws. Especially if you haven't installed the latest patches for it. So you're still "potentially" compromising your security =)
Another vote for Adblock Plus. It is priceless for blocking questionable images at work.
I have yet to try out Firebug but I have heard good things about it.

I just found the best add-on ever - Copy Plain Text! Where has this been all my life??
I also have AdBlock, FlashBlock, and NoScript.
I still haven't understood why Firebug would be useful - what does it do that "view\page source" doesn't?
