I looked up the interpretations of these answers, and my results are not very accurate. Some things fit, but no more than coincidence would account for.

1. My dad
2. a chipmunk
3. just watching
4. um, a smallish bungalow- two or three bedroom size.
5. No
6. ...a paint project on the table w/ glasses of water and brushes, mirrors and plants around... a rug...
7. china
8. take it in and wash it
9. a large pond.
10. a canoe
So, do I fail?
rara avis added to this post, 12 minutes and 36 seconds later...
Hm. I looked it up, too, and... meh...
It is true, I have a tendency to just watch and think about my problems... compared to a reasonable ambition to actually fix them. Unfortunate mismatch on my part.
I'll enjoy telling my dad that, to me, our relationship is like a delicate china cup... he'll sprain something rolling his eyes at me.
I don't think he's THE most important person in my life, but I have been thinking a lot about him lately. Especially since he obnoxiously refused to do the MBTI.
My answer was just pretty literal- when I do walk in the woods, 9 times out of 10 in my life, I've been with my dad.
AND! May I say, #6 reminds me of another thread going on right now about the Introversion Conspiracy... I'm actually pretty juiced, thinking about having a lovely big work table, with no people or food at it, messing up my stuff. My idyllic bungalow would have a place for me to do what I love to do.
Just because I don't have people in my little forest retreat, my life is unhappy??? Pfft.

Would someone mind posting a link or some kind of explanation to this? (Just be careful about spoilers.)
EDIT: I took care of that myself. I'm not quite as lazy as I thought.
Explanations (To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 2 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.)
EDIT 2: Number 10 was very accurate for me. My answer for how I cross the water was "I don't want to."
And why would there be food on the table? I thought I just wandered into this house. Who leaves food on the table? What's that all about? What am I-- the three bears, just waiting for Goldilocks to come in and steal my shit? Bah.

2. a bear
3. it chases me
4. it's a cabin
5. no
6. nothing on it, surrounded by 4 chairs. it was a small, round table
7. Styrofoam
8. i ignore it
9. river
10. why do i want to cross the water? oh, fine. if i must i'll hop on the rocks and swim where necessary like I always do.
Well that was incredibly inaccurate. I think my mood was too logical for this test today. I suppose I could have put people around the table, but I'm in introvert and I'd prefer not to run into random strangers in the woods, so why would I? That's no indication of my happiness. The only one that was really right for me was the first one, which seems obvious that most people would choose someone important to them. Why would I be walking around in the woods with someone I don't like, at least by choice? Perhaps the last one too, but that's stretching it.

No Fence

It is interesting how I completely immersed myself in the water in number 10. In numbers eight and seven I am adopted so I guess that that is pertinent. Also, I first thought of a fence for a split second then it disappeared, a ceramic cup, but maybe not really picking it up. I also thought of chairs but then changed to stools. I thought that the test was trying to garner a "typical" reaction out of me so I decided to mix it up in my "mind's eye."

Spoiled! *mumbles*
Here are the "answers" anyway...
This has been a relational psychology test. The answers given to the questions have been shown to have a relevance to values and ideals that we hold in our personal lives. The analysis follows:
1. The person who you are walking with is the most important person in your life.
2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems.
3. The severity of the interaction you have with the animal is representative of how you deal with your problems. (passive/aggressive)
4. The size of your dream house is representative of the size of your ambition to resolve your problems.
5. No fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a closed personality. You'd prefer people not to drop by unannounced.
6. If your answer did not include food, people, or flowers, then you are generally unhappy.
7. The durability of the material with which the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationship with the person named in number 1. For example, styrafoam, plastic, and paper are all disposable, styrofoam, paper and glass are not durable, and metal and plastic are durable.
8. Your disposition of the cup is representative of your attitude towards the person in number 1.
9. The size of the body of water is representative of the size of your sexual desire.
10. How wet you get in crossing the water is indicative of the relative importance of your sex life.
BTW I was joking when I said you would fail. Its just the first feeling I get when I'm asked to take some kind of profile of psych test for someone.

Lainy, you're the first person to say they have a fence around their house, and their family at the table, and have a cup as sturdy as Silver and you put it in a safe place.
You're the most local-minded, traditional person on the thread so far. Clearly, with strong family relationships and a life centered around family. A conserver and protector.

I didn't visualize it as night or day. Night and day don't really have a place in my imagination unless there's a specific reason. If asked it probably would have been night, even though I don't go to the woods at night because there are homeless people that live in the woods by my house. It was, however, a warm day. I don't like the snow.

1. The person who you are walking in the woods with is one of the most important people in your life. (Interesting...)
2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems in your life. (I didn't mention the size of the bird, but maybe it's airborne capabilities.)
3. The severity of the interaction you have with the animal is representative of how you deal with your problems. (Maybe so.)
4.The size of your dream home is representative of the size of your ambition to solve your problems. (lol, I have ambition!)
5. A lack of a fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a close personality. You'd prefer people not drop by unannounced. (I think this was better answered in the last question.)
6. If your answer did NOT include food, flowers, or people, then you are generally unhappy. (Or introversion? We imagine our safe houses to be places where we can be alone.)
7. The durability of the material with the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationship. (I suppose the result is true, but the method inaccurate overall.)
8. Your disposition of the cup is representative of your attitude toward person in #1. (Don't interfere huh?)

this test actually points out that some really need to get laid
I find it inaccurate to equate crossing a body of water with sex on a subconcious level. Any natural body of water outside is going to be cold and crossing it is going to take a rational strategy. Maybe swimming wouldn't be the best strategy if you're hydrophobic or not in the greatest shape. Sex is an indulgence, usually warm ( at least, I like it warm). A better question (for me, at least) would be "You find a box of chocolates. Describe the contents and what you do with it."
My answers:
1. You are not alone. You are walking in the woods. Who are you walking with?
My dark twin.
2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal is it?
Squirrel
3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal?
We take stick of each other, decide each one isn't going to hurt the other, and go our separate ways.
4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size?
Huge mansion. Lara Croft's house (from the movies) would be excellent.
5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence?
No.
6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining room table. Describe what you see on AND around the table.
A table set for dinner service.
7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. What material isthe cup made of?
Japanese style teacup. So ceramic or stoneware.
8. What do you do with the cup?
Pick it up and wonder what's inside.
9. You walk to the edge of the property, where you find yourself standing at the edge of abody of water. What type of body of water is it?
Huge lake.
10. How will you cross the water?

Quite the contrary actually. I'm a devoted Christian.
I see it differently, you would see many trying to interfere with the cup (God.) and make him do things, but I choose not to interfere with the cup, but think about the cup, why it is there, and what it means. Sorry to disappoint.

4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size?

It's a large, brown, polished wooden table. With chairs. And a large window.

I guess I'm just a complete loner, then. That likes people dropping by at odd hours. Although, other than the happiness question, it's not all that inaccurate. I don't really have a "most important person," although I like my family and my best friend. Everybody else just comes and goes without much fanfare. My sex life is nonexistent. I actually don't mind people I know dropping by unexpectedly, as long as they don't plan on staying long.

What does drinking out of the cup mean?
Why does a ceramic cup taste like metal? *shrugs* Could be a high mineral content in the water.
Maybe this symbolizes a desire to completely absorb all that the other person is, to know him/her inside and out, possibly intimately depending on who you chose in #1. It could mean that you are inextricably intertwined with the person in #1 and that though you give him/her all of yourself, something gets lost in translation. There's something about him/her that you don't quite understand, something nagging that you can't figure out. But this intrigues you still so you continue to explore him/her, though you're reaching a point of no return after which you may decide the constant uncertainty is no longer worth the same laser-like attention and energy. It could also indicate a grudging acceptance of the other, while being uncomfortable with what this means for the relationship and your life generally.
This is just one possible interpretation, and the one that sticks out most to me at the moment.

I have a problem with this test. Or at least I think I do.
I grew up in the woods and so when the test asked me to imagine that I was walking in the woods, I pictured the woods where I grew up. All things that happened in or about the woods needed to be consistent in my imagination with the woods I remember from my childhood. There's still a lot of room for interpretation, but for example, I couldn't imagine an ocean for the body of water or even a large lake because of the nature of where I grew up. Even the house it asked me to imagine was somewhat based on a real house in those woods. So the fact that there was no fence around my imaginary house might have more to do with the fact that there was no fence around the real house. How much does this affect the test?
The other issue is that, like some others, I imagined I was walking in the woods with a person who was sort of my inner voice. The material the cup was made of was plastic. How can I have a disposable relationship with my inner voice??
Also, the animal I imagined was a squirrel. This is the animal that one is most likely to come across when walking in the woods I'm thinking of. Is it possible that's the reason it came to mind first?
P.S. I'm not trying to "debunk" this test, I'm honestly wondering about the answers to these questions.

Could be fairly accurate, which is better than I expected. 7 and 8 are spot on, I probably couldn't think of a better metaphor for the situation if I tried. I'm very skeptical of anything that authoritatively says it has "been shown" to be valid and doesn't cite any evidence supporting that statement, though.
1) a stranger
2) a fox
3) I observe it for a while. It runs away.
4) small

6) Nothing is on the table. With the exception of chairs, nothing is around the table.
7) styrofoam
8) let it be
9) the ocean
10) by boat

I fail to imagine the significance of the animal's size. A wolf is far more deadly than an elephant. Ditto for the house; I'm not one to let my problems exist unperturbed, yet I'm perfectly satisfied with a small house - I don't see how a mega-mansion is better, since I'll be the only one living there. Perhaps the size of the house is a better indicator of the respondent's desire for material wealth? This is also doubtful.
Minimalism does not equal unhappiness, hence my confusion about the dinner table. The styrofoam cup doesn't interest me, nor does it bother me. Well, if this were my property I'd pick it up and throw it in the trash (and be annoyed at the mysterious litterbug).

Okay, just for shits and giggles:
1. Myself
2. A squirrel
3. It watches me, then runs up a tree when I get closer
4. Meduim sized geodessic dome, colored so it blends in with the forest
5. No. Why the hell would a house in the middle of nowhere need a fence?
6. The table is clean and surrounded by a few matching chairs
7. Clear glass tumbler
8. Pick it up and put it on a nearby table. What idiot threw one of my glasses in my backyard?!?
9. A small pond
10. I walk around the border of it...it's not that big.
I dunno...I was born and raised next to a 700 acre State Park and spent almost all of my childhood running around in the woods with my sister. I might be thinking too litereally here. And the geodessic dome home is the house of one of my neighbors; seriously cool, very different. As well as the pond; it is a little vernal pond that dries up each fall and comes back each spring, smaller than a swimming pool. Cool place to catch frogs!
Back to the test...so apparently I'm the most important person in my life, with problems the size of a squirrel that I deal with passively, I have a 2 story dome shaped desire to solve my problems, like unexpected visitors, am generally unhappy, have a fragile relationship with myself, will put myself on a table, have a sex drive that dries up in August, and walk around the edges of sex to keep my shoes from getting muddy. Yeah...I think this is a load of B.S., IMHO.

Note: For the people who think this test "sucks" or is inapplicable as designed, what alternate meanings or significance would you attach to each item?
Why should these items be significant at all? Why should the material of the cup be representational somehow of one's relationship with another person? How are these things connected? Also, there's lots of ways this can go wrong simply because of the language used. For example: If something is referred to as a "cup," to me it means it's made either of plastic or china. Mostly, I don't encounter china cups in my daily life, so plastic is what comes to mind most naturally. If it had been referred to as a "glass" it would have imagined that it was made of glass.
this is one of the stupidest things i've ever seen. it's up there with chain emails that tell you to forward them or RISK MORTAL PERIL.

I feel that it's main weakness is that it simply does not take into account personal preferences/experiences, and that it makes certain assumptions based off of very limited (and questionable) symbolism - an aspect of psychology that I think is complete BS. A cigar is just a cigar.
Placing the person in the woods creates a very specific environment, and pre-determines many of the answers that one would have - limiting the available choices.
When I do walk through the woods, it is practically always by myself. Placing someone else in that particular environment - who normally would not be there - is contradictory to my experience. Similarly, the people who I care about the most are not the types who would go walking in the woods. I wouldn't visualize them in that environment.
During my daily walks to work, I pass through several parks where I regularly see squirrels scampering around. My past experiences influenced my answer. The extent of my problems could be better equated to how much caffeine I consume during the day, not by the size of animal I would see in the imaginary forest.
What sort of home does one normally see in the woods? Small cabins are what I have experienced in the similar environments. Nor would I necessarily see what I would consider my 'dream home' in the woods. So my past experiences influenced my answer.
One does not normally see fences around houses built deep in the woods. By putting me in such a specific environment, the fence symbolism is no longer applicable.
My dining room table is always cluttered with books and papers - that is simply how I do things. I almost always eat out, quite often with friends. Does this make unhappy? Of course not, this is nothing more than my lifestyle.
My choice of cup material is based on my personal preferences and what I already own. It's supposedly my dream home, so why would I visualize a type of cup that I don't like or use? And it being a nice cup that I happened to own, of course I'm going to take care of it.
Again, being placed in deep woods (which I imagined being high in the mountains), the body of water I visualized was what I would normally equate to being in that environment (based on my past experiences) was a glacial lake. It wasn't a stream, because having a cabin by the lake is more picturesque to my mind. The opposite side of the lake was a steep mountain side - there was nothing over there that I would want to see, nor was the other side accessible. I don't fish so I would have no need to have a boat, plus I'm not a very good swimmer. I much rather prefer looking at the lake rather than cross it.
Personally, I think that this sort of Freudian symbolism (for the most part) is utter nonsense - especially when it's as poorly executed as this particular survey was.

I understand the responses you guys gave, but what I was getting at is that because this "test" was supposed to be a psychological analysis of sorts (however flawed), if you were assigning criteria to each leg of the test, what kind of symbolism do you think that you would allude to for each item?
Example:
1. The person who you are walking in the woods with represents a part of you that you keep hidden from the rest of the world.
2. The animal you chose is symbolic of your innate gifts and abilities.
3. Your interaction with the animal represents your interest in further developing your innate gifts and abilities.
4. The size and extravagance of your dream home indicates the size of your ambition to achieve material success.
5. The presence of a fence represents your reticence to experience new or unfamiliar things, people, or situations. The lack of a fence represents openness to those new or unfamiliar things, people, and situations.
6. If your answer involved a minimalist tablescape, you likely have a dislike of clutter and are more concerned with things outside the home, if your answer involved a more highly decorated tablescape, it is likely that you enjoy entertaining friends and family, or that you consider your home to be very close to your heart.
7. The durability of the material from which the cup is made represents how you currently feel in life: a cup of lighter material might mean that you are uncertain about your future and are facing a lot of changes, a cup of heavier material might mean that you are feeling stubborn and stuck in your ways, possibly in a rut.
8. Your disposition of the cup represents how you are currently dealing with the situation described in #7.
9. The size of the body of water is representative of the lengths to which you will go to keep your true self as revealed in #1 hidden from the world outside.
10. How you choose to cross the water indicates your desire to confront the outside world, and the way in which you want to be viewed or received by the outside world.

6: Can see the entire house as it's an open engineered design. Large LCD television off to the left side, with a nice sofa, stars going up the center to the upper floor, wood burning stove next to the stairs in the middle of the room, kitchen on the right.

As Lucid said, I simply would not try to assign any sort of meaning to this type of symbology test. They are just pure bunk - and simply cannot be utilized in this manner. Even if there was any meaning, it would HAVE be on a case-by-case basis, and any interpretation could only be attempted after getting to know the subject's psyche at a much deeper level. There are simply too many variables to be able to assign any specific meaning to these sorts of questions that could apply to any random person.

Ok, fair enough. I guess I'm just surprised by how lowly metaphors are regarded. Symbolism is a personal interest as I see it everywhere, even in the mundane aspects of life such as those posited by the questions in the OP. Personally, I think it's possible to see significance anywhere and everywhere. Will any one instance cover the depth and breadth of an idea, person, or thing? No. But can it lend insight? Yes.

Metaphor and symbolism do not mean the same things.
It is definitely possible to see significance anywhere and everywhere. Whether that significance is actually there or not is another matter all together.
The insight you have gained from this symbolic test is that when someone tells me I find a cup in the woods I think of a plastic cup because, in my experience, the word "cup" means plastic.

No, but they're related. A metaphor is a type of symbolism, but symbolism is more comprehensive and has more application.

Of course, but I wasn't trying to convince you, just pointing out that my perspective on this test is about its symbolism as opposed to its absolute accuracy on any of the items it purports to measure. The choice of words for each item and by each person is telling in and of itself.

I'm with a woman, the as-yet-unknown pair-bonded partner. I see a deer; it sees me, runs away. The house is a small, old-time colonial house. One floor, one main room, probably. There's no fence, and the house is completely empty, interestingly enough. The cup is made of china, I take it inside and clean it. The water at the edge of the property is a lake, I walk around it.
Soo...
The imaginary partner is my most important person, my problems are mediumish, are solved passively, though I don't have much ambition to solve them. I welcome people, though I'm generally unhappy. My relationship to my imaginary partner is fragile, and I think she'd probably need to be taken in and washed up. I have a large sexual desire, but sex is of almost no importance in my life.
Sounds about right.

1. You are not alone. You are walking in the woods. Who are you walking with?
A fluffy bear. (In case the symbology here means I’m gonna die by bear mauling my back up company is my sisters... both of them, screw the rules!).
1. The person who you are walking with is the most important person in your life.
Bears are important!
2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal is it?
Well, I assume you mean one other than the bear I'm with? If so we stumble on a squirrel.
2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems.
Well, it was a slightly chunky squirrel, I thought it would be rude to mention this is all.
3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal?
We cross paths, I tip my hat, it gives a polite head nod and continues on its way. Life is indeed cheery but polite customs are to be followed if this is to remain so!
3. The severity of the interaction you have with the animal is representative of how you deal with your problems. (passive/aggressive)
HEEE! That's surprisingly accurate. Hat tip followed by ignoring
4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size?
‘bout medium, two stories, say 4 bedrooms, open plan, lounge, rumpus, kitchen, upstairs and downstairs bathrooms and a sweeeet heated pool out the front. Btw, it looks impressive!
4. The size of your dream house is representative of the size of your ambition to resolve your problems.
Well, it looks impressive.
5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence?
No. I'm in the middle of the woods, why would I need a fence? I have a bear for protection.
5. No fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a closed personality. You'd prefer people not to drop by unannounced.
I have a bear. They'd better announce themselves first!
6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining room table. Describe what you see on AND around the table.
Blazing fireplace, comfy yet elegant couches, dining room table set for a dinner party, room for lots of food and plenty of wine.
6. If your answer did not include food, people, or flowers, then you are generally unhappy.
YAY! A TEST TOLD ME I'M NOT UNHAPPY! YAY! *improv table dance*
7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. What material is the cup made of?
Damn, I just know the cup's material's gonna be symbolic of something so I don't wanna say this cause it's a temporary material but if there's a random cup lying in my dream house's back yard and it has importance then it simply has to be a wooden goblet. Kinda like the one from Indiana Jones representing Christ’s cup.
7. The durability of the material with which the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationship with the person named in number 1. For example, styrafoam, plastic, and paper are all disposable, styrofoam, paper and glass are not durable, and metal and plastic are durable.
Ahh, can't get more perfect than Christ's goblet! ;D
8. What do you do with the cup?
Well I don't really have a need for a wooden goblet and can’t be bothered throwing it away so it can stay in the garden as a kind of statue.
8. Your disposition of the cup is representative of your attitude towards the person in number 1.
Well, they do look pretty when they stand in the middle of my garden.
9. You walk to the edge of the property, where you find yourself standing at the edge of a body of water. What type of body of water is it?
Again, I just know this is gonna be obviously symbolic :Rollin'DemEyes: still I'd pick a flowing stream that starts as a waterfall.
9. The size of the body of water is representative of the size of your sexual desire.
Comes from a waterfall... huh? huh? *waggles eyebrows*
10. How will you cross the water?
Why would I? Fine. I jump from rock to rock getting slightly wet but with the remarkable agility of a mountain goat, I am impressive!
10. How wet you get in crossing the water is indicative of the relative importance of your sex life.
Shit! I'm glad I said I got wet, even if I used the word slightly but fekk it, I thought about wading, curse my love of stone hopping!
The good news is at least I amused myself cause I learnt nothing and am betting next to no one reads these.
1. You are not alone. You are walking in the woods. Who are you walking with?
my best friend
2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal is it?
hedgehog
3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal?
I stare at it, it stares back, then we both get bored and go our separate ways
(eerie similarity to Elfrun here!)
4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size?
spacious log cabin
5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence?
no way, we're in the woods!
6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining room table. Describe what you see on AND around the table.
tablecloth, candles, wine, placemats
(haha apparently I'm unhappy??)
7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. What material is the cup made of?
stone
8. What do you do with the cup?
leave it there
9. You walk to the edge of the property, where you find yourself standing at the edge of a body of water. What type of body of water is it?
river
10. How will you cross the water?
wade through

To the OP: You can make a story out of this. It might come off as awe-inspiring when published. Try it! Hey, where's the analysis you're talking about?
1. The person who you are walking with is the most important person in your life.
Bears are important!
2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems.
Well, it was a slightly chunky squirrel, I thought it would be rude to mention this is all.

No. 1 is not accurate because I consider a number of people to be important persons in my life, no more no less.
No. 4 is inaccurate because, knowing myself, I am a very ambitious person. And no, this question shouldn't have been answered because I don't use my ambitions to resolve my problems. Instead, these problems help me achieve my ambitions.
No. 5 is inaccurate because I am a closed person.
No. 9 is not accurate. I think I can masturbate ten times a day thinking of exhilarating porn scenes, titties and the like.
No. 10 could be accurate right now but could be inaccurate in the future because for the moment, I still don't have a sex life (and no, masturbation does not indicate you have a sex life).

On number 1: I imagined who would most likely be walking in the woods with me, which is my oldest son and the person I've spent the most time camping with. Is this more meaningful than just the surface level?
A lot of the other questions I find may give some level of meaning, but I'm not totally sold.

7.Porcelain cup
8. I examine it
9. Stream
10. I go around it.
Nikita asked what we'd make of it if we don't agree or value the test--something like that?
OK, one by one:
1) I'm so introverted that the only person who deeply matters to me is my husband, so that was a no-brainer.
2) I grew up in the inner city, have almost no experience with woods "really" and have seen "the woods" represented since I was a toddler: deer was an obvious animal to see as heck, Bambi was one of the first films I saw in my life.
3) I have a hunger to interact with animals and I am not afraid of deer; I would love to touch one in its own habitat.
4) Smallish cabin. I don't like to own much, and there is just me and my husband so a simple structure seemed right.
5) There would be no need for a fence in such a remote (fantasy) location; if I had "imagined" it being closer to other people I would certainly have put up some kind of barrier between me and them because no, I would not want neighbors or strangers just dropping by. Do we move near the "woods" to be sociable? Hello!?!
6) The feeling of this test from the very beginning for me was fantasy; I approached the table as if I were writing a fictional description and created what was for me detailed and beautiful, something I would enjoy reading in someone else's book.
7) I have a sense of "cup", and also experience reading about a "cup" usually holding tea so I naturally imagined porcelain. I think if the person(s) who devised this test had a strong grounding in linguistics they would have expected different results; for instance, I would bet money that more women chose porcelain for cup than men did, and that men more often took cup to mean something to drink out of and perhaps supplied something less cup-like which leads me to why I didn't choose something sturdier. I didn't choose "steel" because "cups" are not made of steel; steins are.
Now, if the test had said "stein", I would have put down metal, though more likely stainless steel, not just steel which has a different feel altogether; something that bridges are made out of. (My father worked for J&L Steel as a construction worker.)
Region has a lot to do with how we answer as does class. For instance if someone from Rhode Island imagined what I call a milk shake in his stainless steel stein, he would naturally write "cabinet". (Read Language: The Social Mirror by Elaine Chakra and you'll come back to this test with skepticism and suggestions for improving the expected outcome.) And as for class, well, this is a very middle to upper class test; hell, psycho-analysis is a very middle to upper middle class "faux" science.
8) I examine the cup because it's in the grass; could have a snail inside or something else lovely. (Does the fact that I imagined a snail redeem my last answer? Sarcasm, of course.)
9) Stream. I couldn't at first come up with the correct word for what I imagined because again, I haven't much experience in that kind of setting, but it was a stream, I think, and I chose it because it logically went with the woods, the cabin, the grass. What would an ocean or a kiddie pool, say, be doing there? Again, whoever designed the test didn't do his homework, and not just in the area of linguistics.
10) I went around it because I've never crossed a stream before. I taught myself to swim a few years ago and while I do a lovely backstroke, I'm not competent with any other stroke. Also, I've never manned a boat of any kind. And I'm an extreme ectomorph who is pushing 50; I wouldn't trust myself to walk across a stream; I mean, it would be too deep, for starters.
The person who put together this test didn't allow for the variety of experiences that we each have; his (or her) test was poorly designed and therefore could do little more than please people the way getting their palms read might: it would tell them what they wanted to hear, and by wanted I don't necessarily mean give them pleasing information; maybe it would "give them something to think about." It gave me an urge to roll my eyes, which I indulged, over and over again.

1. You are not alone. You are walking in the woods. Who are you walking with?
Probably with my boyfriend, walking to warm up to a nice hike.
2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal is it?
A cute little bird flying towards its nest.
3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal?
Well... it looks at me after it reaches the nest... I walk up to it and let it peck at the rest of my granola bar....?
4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and before you is your dream house. Describe its size?
My dream house wouldn't be in the middle of the woods. Is there even a library nearby?! O_o (edit after seeing analysis. The house would be small; but big enough to feel comfortable without having useless unused space. Didn't want to answer because my dream house wouldn't be in the woods!)
5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence?
Yes, it is. But I'm flexible.
6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining room table. Describe what you see on AND around the table.
On the table, is my cat, Mimi, curled up on a old, tiny, cardboard box. There are some open books too, that I was probably using for learn something new yesterday night.
Around the table? My messenger bag, with the contents spilling, and a little piece of left-over chicken that I tried to feed Mimi... that she most ungratefully refused :(
7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. What material isthe cup made of?
I don't know why, but a silver-color metal X_x
8. What do you do with the cup?
Pick it up and examine it... look at it with a pensive/confused expression on my face :P
9. You walk to the edge of the property, where you find yourself standing at the edge of a body of water. What type of body of water is it?
Likely a lake.... Hmm...
10. How will you cross the water?
By getting on a raft and singing magical words to the water, so that it will safely and quickly take me to the other side :P
HAHAHA!! I couldn't stop thinking WTF, and laughing my ass off :P Those things really aren't around me / there's no lake, etc; but all that is what came to mind :P
EDIT, after seeing the results.
This is really interesting! Here are my asnwers to the analysis...! Don't peek if you haven't done the test!
1. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't...
2. Yes, I generally think they are small, when they turn out to be a big, big messy mess.
3. So checking if he wants some food... is that aggressive?
4. Meh? Yes, meh! My ambition is great, but I end up not really putting too much effort.
5.Hey, I'm sorry, I like deer, but I don't like them eating my flowers. I'd rather have a fence than poison. I'm pretty open, as my annoyed friends will tell you :P
6. I'll take books and Mimi over food, people, or flowers, ANYTIME. The flowers are outside on the huge garden. The food.. I love food, but I'd rather use it to make OTHERS happy... I like people, but Mimi is better than any person in the world :)
7. I perceive it as paper then. Everyday. It turns out to be more like metal, though.
8. So true! So true! So true!
9. True... but in all honestly, I just really, really, really like lakes and oceans.
10. Okay. I love swimming and getting wet. But I can do without sex, as much as I love it :P
Now I'd like to know... how did I fail?

6. You enter the house. You walk to the dining area and see the dining room table. Describe what you see on AND around the table. It's quite empty. It's wooden, dark and big. and there's just this setting in the middle of like... a vase with fruit or flowers
7. You exit the house through the back door. Lying in the grass is a cup. What material isthe cup made of? Goldenish plastic

---------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The person who you are walking with is the most important person in your life. Guess I love my cat.
2. The size of the animal is representative of your perception of the size of your problems. Average-ish? :)
3. The severity of the interaction you have with the animal is representative of how you deal with your problems. (passive/aggressive) Hmm... Distant? Passive? "Observant/wondering"?
4. The size of your dream house is representative of the size of your ambition to resolve your problems. Big :)
5. No fence is indicative of an open personality. People are welcome at all times. The presence of a fence indicates a closed personality. You'd prefer people not to drop by unannounced. Welcome at all times, ahoy.
6. If your answer did not include food, people, or flowers, then you are generally unhappy. I'm happy.
7. The durability of the material with which the cup is made of is representative of the perceived durability of your relationship with the person named in number 1. For example, styrafoam, plastic, and paper are all disposable, styrofoam, paper and glass are not durable, and metal and plastic are durable. It's not durable. Obviously. We're seperated when not being around each other, and one of us is going to die before the other;assumably her. (I'm still talking about the cat :P) The fact that it's gold seems to mean that even though it's disposable , it seems to be worthy? :P
8. Your disposition of the cup is representative of your attitude towards the person in number 1. Usefulness eh...Well she's obviously useful to my brain and heart. So to speak , metaphorically.
9. The size of the body of water is representative of the size of your sexual desire. Given it's floating rapidly my desire is quite up there but the river is more narrow than wide which might mean it's still composed/focused ?
10. How wet you get in crossing the water is indicative of the relative importance of your sex life. It's mostly my feet/parts of my leg that get wet. So it's slightly important but not major.

my thoughts and analysis seeing as nikita made a good point
01) Girl's are usually on my mind. I always think bout her, so waited a mo to see what else came up.
02) I'm surprised I said Raccoon. Its an odd animal. I don't think the size is as important as how unique a choice it was that came out my mind. Like I feel I from an unique problem.
03) I like to lead in my own way. But it tends to appear lazy or not overly aggressive. i believe in focusing on myself and quality and letting everything else around me react to me. Take from that what you want.
04) Dunno if it represents my ambition to solve my problems as oppossed to long term ambition. I think the "white" represents a moral/ethical thing in my mind. it was very clean. there's a way i want to achieve things.
05) yeh, for the most part true.
06) I have been unhappy since i graduated college. i'm unemployed and can't find work. have no money or friends atm as a result. certainly no active life.
07) yeh, they're pretty solid, but a crack can be significant. white again.
08) black tea inside, makes me chuck it. guess I can't stand certain traits in people. if i spot them, i tend to not care so much.
09) yeh buddy. i think bout sex 24/7
10) so wanna dip in, but stay protected?
