So I'm trying to get a schedule widget for my desktop, Vista, but I'm having trouble. I find myself deleting the widget because it doesn't work in my mind. I have a very (very) clean desktop. Besides the trashcan I only have 4 other icons. So me wanting to make a schedule is colliding with me being (extremely) organized.

I'll add a picture of my desktop after I finish adding my theme and wallpaper. In the meantime do you have any suggestions?

Does the gadget requires JAVA? Maybe the JAVA version you have is not compatible with the gadget.

It is possible that there is an additional requirements for it to work, whether it is Java, Microsoft Framework or other application...

How do I get it to look "good" I hate having something that is not a icon on my desktop.

What? What has that to do with anything...

It sounds like LiamWolf isn't happy with how aesthetically pleasing the scheduling widget is. In which case, you're fighting a loosing battle. Just use a scheduling program, and run it whenever you need to see your schedule. Buy a PDA, buy 2 monitors. *shrugs* you can't have minimalist and busy at the same time.

Rainlendar, google for it.
Also, trash Vista and get XP SP2. You'll thank me later. :P

Vista x64 > XP SP2 x86. I wouldn't touch XP x64 with a 10 foot pool.

I'm not sure I understand why Windows Calendar does not meet your requirements. Does it really have to reside in the sidebar?

I already fixed the problem. I just deleted all the icons on my desktop and moved them (the programs) to the quicklaunch bar. Now I have my desktop fully open.
